Thank you, Chonda. My husband died 4 years ago at the age of 64. We have a Christian daughter and had a prodigal daughter who cohabited with her partner. They have 2 children. Praise the Lord, He saved her soul about half a year ago. Now she and her partner have broken up and my daughter + kids + the German Shepherd have moved in with me. Life now is a mixture of suffering and joy. Listening to you helped me to see context and have faith in the faithfulness of our loving Father. His grace is sufficient for me. May the joy of the Lord fill the hearts of you and all your listeners.
If you haven’t yet watched her video titled “Laughing In the Dark”, I recommend it so highly. Our Griefshare group watched it and wept so hard together but it also helped us to better articulate the conflicting emotions we were all feeling.
Our oldest son has cut us off and won't allow us to see our grandkids. It's heartbreaking but he wants us to stop being Christians. We must cling to Jesus and pray like crazy!
We're so sorry you're having trouble with your son @lorismith2484. Please know that we will be praying for you, asking the Lord to reveal Himself to your son and provide you and your family with His perfect peace. You may find this article helpful- bit.ly/3OzmVRU. -Luna H.

Losing a husband through death is a lot better than finding out he is a psychopath and the entire marriage was a fraud and his agenda has long been trying to cause your death, doing "whatever it takes"
30 years ago I organized a sleepover at my church for moms. Chonda's VHS was our entertainment. We wore our PJ'S and I remember making the poster with curlers I'd hot glued on to a funny face on the poster. She is so inspirational.
Without laughter it's impossible to remain sane in this life. I'm so glad I ran across this today. I watch over a parent in their late 90's, and the stress of caring for someone who only knows negativity and criticism is taking it's toll on me. Thanks for the blessing of laughter at the end of a difficult week.
When my Mother passed away 15 years ago, I remember riding in the car to the cemetery with my husband and son. Both men were quiet and sad. Just then I remembered the day my Mother and I were sitting and sewing together, listening to one of Chonda’s performances. We laughed until our sides hurt. I remember one of her funny lines, “ We”re dropping like flies”. I told my guys that to help lighten the moment and still feel the Lord had blessed me with the utmost peace that entire day. I knew where my Mom was and I would see her again. I am thankful to hear someone say laughter gets them through tough times. It certainly does for me. Thank you Chonda and may God bless you like crazy.
Oh Chonda, loving to hear you again. I am a pastor's daughter who grew up in holiness church too and I so relate to all that you are saying. I was always scared the rapture would come and what I may be doing, etc.! I met you years ago at a women's conference. Always held you dear in my heart. God bless you. You're a strong woman!
If your child has cut you off, don't give up hope. I married a narcissistic sociopath who isolated me from my friends and family for 10 years. When I finally "woke up" and got away, I went right back to my family. I couldn't erase the pain those 10 years had caused, but I spent every weekend thereafter with my parents.
I pray for the day when my sons oldest child wakes up and comes back to him. (She’s 12 now and her mother has alienated her against him) It may be awhile…

Since my mom died unexpectedly last year, I have struggled with finding my own identity. I lived with my mom. We were very close. I have a few disabilities that had brought me back home from serving as a missionary when I was 27. I’m turning 40 this weekend. Spending most of my time alone, it has been very hard. I helped my mom a lot and always felt like my purpose was to be there for her. I no longer a daughter. Not loved as much as I used to be. It’s been hard to understand who I am now and God’s purpose in my life. Chonda is such a blessing and I always get the best laugh listening to her.❤
