Thanks for this info. I've sewed over 50 yrs, never had a class, sewed all the Vogue designer patterns et al, then took up machine embroidery and quilting.

Hi Jodi! Definitely! Stabilizer is fantastic for securing seams in stretch clothing. You would use a cut away stabilizer. However, you could also use clear elastic (looks like elastic ribbon), medium weight black interfacing, or strips for muslin to stabilize a stretch seam.

Thank you so much for this video. I've been machine embroidering 6 months and still struggling with puckering on knits. I am doing well on totes, denim and towels! I'm going to order some of your stabilizers!

Hi - my son bought me an embroidery machine for Christmas and I'm ashamed to say that I have yet to use it. Scared! I have just started two projects, clothes peg bags and thought it would be nice to monogram them. The fabric will already have iron on interfacing - would I still need to use stabilizer to embroider it?
Do you have to use the whole piece like that or can you just cut a small piece to adhere to match the size of the embroidery?
Hi. Can i use this stabilizer for hand embroidery on a onesie or t-shirt.
I'm in a bit of a bind. I cross stitched a bib and it is cute and finished but I am afraid of leaving it as is... I know a lot of the items we buy at the store have some kind of soft backing glued over the stitches to help protect the design and also to give it a softer feel against the skin. I asked at the store and they sold me a cut away stabilizer but I don't know how to apply it. I've already finished all my stitches...any ideas how to protect my bib and make it softer??

I have a question, my mother in law wants to sew/cross stitch honestly I have no idea what kind as I don’t have any clue. I need to know the type of stitching she’s trying to explain if you could help me. Back home she said they used to use x to sitch on top of fabric. I have no clue what she’s talking about as I’m clueless to this stuff and I showed her this video and said no it’s not what’s she’s looking for does anyone know? Can I use double tear away stabilizer under satin instead of water soluble stabilizer on top? I’m embroidering a graduation stole and the fuzzies on the words don’t make the embroidery look as clean and I’m not sure if its safe to wet them I don’t want it to dry different.
Graduation stoles can be a little tricky because the two layers of satin fabric can easily shift. You can use two layers of tear-away; however, another thing to consider would be to use a stabilizer like Sticky + - in addition to using the tear away. This will help to prevent puckering and give you better results. Also, I suggest changing your needle for a Sharp.
Hm Question, the only embroidery I'm able to do until I can afford a machine is by hand, do you know any tricks for keeping the stitches on back a little neater? I mostly use satin stitches (cuz it's like drawing, which I adore!) and I want to make some scarves to sell at fairs. I just want the final product to look nicer. The material I'm starting with is fleece. ANY advice is welcomed, I'm such a novice when it comes to sewing >.
ACIDBLACKLOVE Lastname Hi! I know a few people who cover the back of their embroidery designs with a cute piece of fabric stitched along the shape of the embroidery or heat-fused in place. Thanks! I'm a novice and all I do is hand stitching ( a machine is a far off dream) I've only practices small things and the back is always a mess x.x i like the idea of just covering it with something else.... I could do a kind of patch i suppose..thanka for the reply ^^
