You wanna know something, you have a wonderful talent, and this is something my mom bless her beautiful heart and soul would have really appreciated,, this is just so much fun and easy to do,, my mom was always doing some sort of craft to use up cards etc and then would turn around and teach others how to make them just to keep busy and volunteer her time,,, you should be very proud of yourself,, mom is looking down on you im sure and thinking good for you 👍 ❤️
What a beautiful thing to say. I would have loved to meet your Mom, she sounds wonderful! I lost my Mom a few years back and when memories of her come flooding back I'm elated. I thank you for sharing your love of your Mother with me. And thank you so much for watching! Have a wonderful New Year!
thanks so much for your kind words about my mom ,, you just made my day ❤️ Happy New year to you also 😀 you and my mom would have had so much fun together,, my mom passed away just 3 years ago this past December 7th,, she was absolutely outstanding with all her crafting,, it was a huge part of her life for over 40 years,,mom was an inspiration to many people,, I could go on for hours,, I look forward to seeing more videos,, ,, take care of yourself and stay safe,, keep up good work,, 👍

That's a great idea! I don't have any pinking shears, maybe I should get some for next year, hehehe! Thank you so much for watching! Have a blessed day!
I'm sorry I missed this comment. I do have a Rotary cutter and that would have been so much easier. Thank you so much for watching! Have a blessed day!
Very clever. One of the teens in our extended family prefers $$ this year. I really didn't want to have to buy a special money holder card for him. I'm going to do this. Thanks for the idea!
My oldest grandson wanted cash, and I have a few others that would prefer money over a gift. And why not save money if I can, right? I'm glad that I could help. I pray you enjoy making them as much as I did. Thank you so much for watching! Have a blessed evening!
Very clever. I would use contrasting gift paper for the 'pocket'. Another use instead of inserting money or gift card, you could use the pocket to insert a message.
Funny you should mention that, I used one of my cards to insert a personal note to my husband! Thank you so much for watching. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
For a perfectly smooth edge after trimming the gift wrap on the card base, smooth the edge with a sanding block or emery board. This was a good recycle project.💜🐞
I really like this idea! My grandmother used to put old christmas cards on her gift packages on plain wrapping paper and I liked to embellish them with glitter on the edges of the cards.
Great idea! You can actually use any occasion cards, great for as you said to give money, gift cards, sentimental photos or letters or notes, even a poem for someone to brighten their day or life!

I like the idea to be able to recycle Christmas cards or any cards. Like for the grandkids birthday money. We get so many cards at the thrift store that have no envelopes that can be used for something like this. Also a person can use up their little pieces of wrapping paper.
Yes, one of the reason I started to make them. You could even make envelopes from the wrapping paper if you wanted to. Thanks so much for watching! Have a wonderful New Year!
Gramma here .... always sending 5$ to the wee ones... 🙌🙌 Love this idea... I have some perfect gift wrap.... and I absolutely love recycling !! Brilliant! and you could make the pocket almost any shape you want. I will definitely be making a few of these. Ran across your channel randomly 😀 👏
Thank you so much for coming to visit. I love the idea of saving money, recycling, and crafting and this idea came to me because of all three. Thanks so much for watching!
Genius, I love this idea. I have five grandchildren who live several states away and I like to send money to them for Christmas. Thank you for this great idea. Ann from Va.
Great idea! I’m always making different gift card holders & always looking for different ideas. For the inside pocket, you can also use a different kind of wrapping so it stands out. One can try adding stickers, or even a cut out from a different card, etc too. Gonna try this! Thank you!
If you will cut little slits in the curved side just right up next to your card. You can fold it in better. But I love this idea. I’m gonna have to do this with my Christmas cards.
I agree. I just wanted to make it as simple and easy as possible for those who don't have all the tools. Thanks so much for watching! Have a wonderful New Year!
God bless you great idea and you can also use material too and many other things on the cards. May God like keep shining on you where's that beautiful smile. 🌹💖🙌🙏📖🕊️🙋
Thank you for the idea. As for that Gizmo that you were using as a bone folder, I'm pretty sure that it is a letter opener. I think that that pointy end would go into an envelope, and then I have an idea that there is a razor blade at the end of that pointy end that would slit the envelope open.
You're welcome for the idea. Thank you for pointing out that my "GIZMO" as you call it, is a letter opener. It most likely could be. For now, I'm using it as a bone folder until I finally break down and buy myself one, lol. Thank you so much for watching. I really do appreciate it!
Yep, I found that out after posting. But I got myself a real bone folder now! I have 7 grandchildren myself, another reason why I made them instead of purchasing them. I'm glad you thought it was a good idea! Thanks so much for watching. Have a wonderful New Year!
I love using old Christmas cards. I wish I had found you yesterday morning before I did something else. Oh well, I’m subscribed now so I’m looking forward to more good ideas! Yay!
That is a great project! And since you don't have an envelope, you can attach a narrow ribbon to the edge and tie it in a bow to keep the card closed. Use a hole punch near the edge to run the ribbon through.
Great Idea!! I always feel bad when it comes time to discard the holiday cards at the end of the season. So many of then have such beautiful art work!! I have made them into bookmarks, which I leave in the library for people to take for free but I will certainly employ this method of recycling as well!! Thanks for sharing with us!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!!!
I cut the fronts off and use them for thank you cards or postcards (saves a bit on postage, just be sure they fit USPS criteria for size), to decorate Christmas packages (a friend taught me that 30 years ago - she would wrap with paper grocery sack then decorate with pretty card front, ribbons. cinnamon sticks, star anise - just whatever she had on hand, always recycling!), Christmas cards for next year (using card stock, stamps, embellishments), etc.
Those are great suggestions. I might just have to use my cards for other things next year! Thanks so much for sharing and for watching! Have a wonderful New Year!@@KetzK11
@@18AcresHomestead you're welcome! Also works with any other cards, not just Christmas ones. I agree with previous poster, hate to toss beautiful cards! 💕🌟 Happy New Year!🎉

I just found your channel the day after Christmas. I must say what a wonderful idea and older kids can do this project as well. Time to think ahead for 2024. Thank you! Have a blessed New Year!
Clever idea 💡 I am going to start saving money 💵 for my Grandkids starting New Year and save that money in a folder 📂 then put it in a savings account for them when they get older.
Thank you! Cool beans about the cards, you'll have plenty to work with next year if you choose to. Thanks so much for watching! Have a wonderful New Year!
That was a really good idea, I think I'll use this years cards to make some for next year since I already have all my wrapping paper and such out. Thank you so much for watching! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I give $2 bills to each grand child...good use to get it to them. I will run a marker along the edge of the money flap, to make the edge more obvious. Thanks
The thing that I love about these homemade cards is that each one of us can put our own personality into it without spending $55 million on it. Lol. Thanks so much for watching! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Without envelope’s ? You could use the stick on velcro / hook and loop buttons OR a little ribbon you can tie in a bow. I also use up old cards to make pillow shaped gift boxes for small gifts and, or by adding a ribbon you can hang them on your tree with a chocolate inside. If you're giving money, think about what things cost. The $5 of yesterday could buy something. Now, it won't buy an ice cream cone.
