I manage a shop and I constantly get kids coming in trying to buy a product and get very angry when you ask them for an ID, I just have some girl the other day come in and try to convince me that every shop has let her buy a vape (she's 18) I tried to kindly tell her fuck off but she was adamant about me selling her a vape eventually, she left and then two cops came in and explained that she was an undercover and that my store passed with flying colors. Needless to say my heart dropped to my ass.

Not too long after that the owner got busted for having meth and selling to underaged kids. He was out in a couple weeks and back to selling. My shop is so strict on ID several of our regulars walk in the door holding their ID hands up like they're at gunpoint as an inside joke lol. We had a veteran that was basically ageblind, known for IDing obviously 50+ year old balding guys.
Might have cops that come in a lot or something. And its technically illegal to not id people unless they literally look like a grandpa. Which is stupid. Even if you personally know the person, still gotta ask for id or you/the store could get in trouble. This 1 liquor store i used to go to like 4 times a week and hed always id me. I asked one day and he said he doesnt wanna risk getting his store shutdown and he saw a lot of cops come in

I used to go to the "shady smoke shop" in high school. I once got asked if I was 18. This was only a few years ago, well after the age had been raised to 21. Not too long after that the owner got busted for having meth and selling to underaged kids. He was out in a couple weeks and back to selling. Except now he would ask for an ID, look at it for a few seconds, and give it back. Didn't matter what your age was. I know this because I was still underage. What a world we live it🙃

Yeah smoke shop I go to did that until they got caught. They changed the law to 21+ right after I turned 19 so they all knew me and knew I bought from them regularly. They just need to look like they checked it on the cameras in case a judge wants to look at their footage. Until they do the fake check with and undercover, then they get in trouble.
