If that was Christmas in July then the window expands from October-February, which actually makes more sense with Ep1 and Ep7 coming out on Halloween, and the autumn colored leaves on the tree in the intro. Ep1 would have to be less then a month after Blitz stole the book, since Stolas was saying he would need it for the next full moon implying he had it during the last full moon.
@@scottbrowne9024 Ep4 is because they take the guy to a Santa event and posters say "Christmas". Ep5 takes place in September because that's the only time the Harvest Moon happens, which is the main plot reason Stolas had to be their with his book. Idk if this has ever been covered but each prince of hell seems to be connected to actual angel types, Asmodeus looking close to the Cherubim a multi-headed angel. Seeing as the 1/3 (if I remember correctly) were angels so the others must be based off of angels themselves :)
Mmm, but Mammon don't look like any type of angel, and Asmodeus has three heads because in the demonology dictionaries he have that three heads, but anyways; "Seven brothers" is a Obey Me reference?

If you notice, Paimon shifts into an Owl when talking to Stolas and explicitly calls him 'The Owl Boy' Making me think that he shifts into other animals to talk to his various animal children of different species.
Really speaks to how crappy of a father Paimon is that he doesn't recognize Stolas at first despite Stolas being the only member of the Ars Goetia who fully resembles an owl.
Is curious you mention it, Andras has the potential to be a really intimidating antagonist. He's the most violent of the Ars Goetia and specializes in execution, whether carrying it out or teaching it. It's possible Stella could ask him to kill IMP or possibly even Stolas.
Just an FYI: Stolas was 11 during the flash back scenes, since its confirmed he's 36. This means he and Stella were married most likely as soon as Stolas turned 18, and then had Octavia some time after that, as she would have been born when Stolas was 19. Considering they're nobility, its not really that surprising that they would do this. Royal children were often married off young and encouraged (Or forced) to have children just as young.
I don't know if it has been officially said that human sinners are the native population of the Pride ring, but now it seems to me that Bird demons are the inhabitants of pride If you think about it, we have seen a lot of Bird demons (specially after this episode), meaning that they are more comon that we initally thought, and not only are they part of the nobility of hell, they are also a text book definition of the word arrogant It would seem then that Bird Demons are the native species of the Pride ring and that their role in society is to be the nobility (just like wrath imps are farmers for example) if we speculate a little more, we could deduce that they lure humans to hell with demonic pacts (the Goetia Demons are known for being sumoned by humans to make deals with them) and political manipulation (as indicated by Stolas in the pilot) just like succubus lure humans with seduction. I don't really know, but it makes sense to me
If what Stolas said in the pilot is still canon, then that's the case yeah, cuz he said a political candidate is causing trouble to a few of his associates
@@justapineapple8464 Nobility and royalty are passed to descendents and family, if you are related to a noble, you get a noble title by extension, or at least the possibility of inheriting it.
It does make sense for the Pride natives to be birds for two reasons: one, the term "peacocking" is a term that describes men who dress lavishly to attract women and has roots in how peacocks attract their mates; two, a lot of male birds (especially the aforementioned peacocks and all species of birds of paradise) are brightly coloured in order to look more attractive to their potential mates.
The whole thing with Paimon having multiple children is there are 72 demons in the Ars Goetia. Only nine of the Goetial demons are kings with Asmodeus and Paimon being the only ones we have met. Leaving any number of the remaining 63 demons Paimon's children. Bear in mind only 7 of these 63 have the status of Prince.
I just checked some demonology on the internet and it turns out that the Ars Goetia Asmodeus is different from the other Asmodeus (Asmodeus had a son who he very creatively named Asmodeus/Asmoday) But idk if the show is gonna include 2 characters like that or just combine em
Honestly I like to believe Stolas was likely reincarnated, since that’s the only way to explain how he was able to help build his father‘s temple. Since higher demons function very differently so it makes sense that death is a very funny thing for beings of high rank. though it is possible for them to permanently die so it makes sense they would need to have a spare in case The original higher demon dies but it isn’t just making a replacement for them, there are also political reasons as well.🤔🐱
@@greygaston1263 Some parts of the Earth did get flooded at least 7,500 years ago-the proof lies in the fact that the sand of the Sahara Desert is oceanic in origin. To me, the Bible is a series of chronicles of past and present events, predictions of future events (similar to the works of Nostradamus) and fairytales based on past works such as the _Epic of Gilgamesh._
@@greygaston1263 Well, there are already signs of the four horsemen being around: War is forever inspiring certain people in the U.S., Famine has been causing trouble in Yemen and other places, Pestilence dropped the mic in Wuhan with the COVID-19 pandemic, and Death has been running amok all over the world.
If I recall Andrealphus, unlike most other goetia in classic texts, is described as being quite malignant while most goetia are neutral or benign. It is possible that Stella's threat to Stolas involving her brother was less a threat of station and more a threat of violence. Unlike the other demon hierarchies in this universe the ranks of Ars Goetia may not follow "might makes right" so even though Stolas may outrank Andrealphus it doesn't mean he is more powerful than him in terms of strength.
It would be interesting to see Malphas (a giant crow demon prince from the Ars Goetia, and the 39th one listed). He's a little bit more powerful than Stolas. It would be cool if in the show they were related somehow since both are princes of hell.
The title of King of the ars goetia may have just been given to Asmodeus as a sort of gift from the highest ranking King Baal, in order to improve relations.Even if Asmodeus dosent have the highest rank, he is by far the most powerful in terms of sheer brute strength, political clout, and the size of his legions.
@@Scardy Asmodeus is one of the 72 demons named in the Ars Goetia, where he holds the rank of king. He also happens to be one of the deadly sins which he is the King of Lust. So it's both actually.
It’s likely the show isn’t fully using the actual canonical lore for its story. They are probably just using an idea that the “king” Goetia are the oldest and all the other Goetia are their descendants. Curious if we’ll be told otherwise Especially since not all Goetia are depicted as birds. Vivzie might be using only birds as a creative design choice (although I’d love to see the team design the non avians)
My personal take is that the Goetia family are NOT "The Goetia" but rather members of "The Goetia" are a part of the family. My guess is that Stolas was named after and then later given the Original Stolas's Grimoire, after he was killed or died. (I might be wrong, but i don't think there has been any reference to a Goetia having immortality or eternal life)
If Stolas dies Octavia would likely ascend to the rank of prince, not Andrelophuse, as power in the nobility of hell seems hereditary. Charlie is young by demonic/angelic standards yet is already more powerful than a fully fledged demon lord like Asmodeus and rivals the queen of hell , due to her heritage. In a few centuries she may even match or exceed the power of Lucifer himself. In order for Andrleophuss to become a prince he would have to kill both Stolas and Octavia.
@RUclipsUser Charlie has been confirmed by the writers of Hazbin Hotel to be much stronger than Alastor, and in the official caste system of hell she is 4 tiers above Alastor; so, it is option 2. Charlies' refusal to use violence is the only reason why no one respects her in hell, because in hell timidness of any kind is seen as weakness; sinners simply can't fathom that someone powerful wouldn't use their power to inflict suffering.
@RUclipsUser "she is a coward with 0 mental strength that lets lesser demons push her around."; That is exactly what i believe. As seen by Loona watching "Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow" on the news, during the song Charlie either created an illusion on the spot or warped reality in order to create the visual effects like the cloud she sat on.
can we just agree the paimon is the source of all stolas' short comings in emotional connection. the reason he has trouble showing affection to blitz is he hasn't actually known real affection. other then with his daughter. which could just be instinctual.
Paimon is said to offer familiars I.E. Animal companions for Magic practitioners. So, the various animal images we see before Paimon appears could unmanifested versions of some of the familiars he can create for those who summon him.
I am actually really happy you talked about one of the royales being able to see in the future. That is an unpopular opinion I have had about Stolas for a long time but didn't consider another royal member could have that ability. I have also heard so much buzz on Stola's mortality. I knew he couldn't be kill with any weapon but I didn't know the confirmation of him being immortal. I guess that means Stella and Via are too? Maybe? I am really excited to learn more about everything in this universe.
Well I would think that via is immortal because she's a replacement heir but I don't know about Stella. Hell for all we know she could be a very very distant cousin of stolas because that's how most royalty works. Also the reason why I think Stella is a very distant cousin is because there's no way with how many sons (and possibly daughters) paimon has that they wouldn't be interbreeding. Interbreeding with cousins is common because it's keeps the blood "pure". Although we would see more deformities within the goetia family. So maybe they did the thing where they hide the really deformed offspring? Sorry about my ramblings. I like reading about this stuff and I've done research on this topic for school.
@@ladon338 There is a high chance of two complete strangers being very distant cousins of each other. Besides, genetic deformities would not be as stigmatised in Hell as they are oft to be on Earth.
I like how Paimon is a shapesifter because it means that not all of the demons in Helluva's ars goetia are birds (though there are still many that are, such as Andras and Camio). Also, didn't paimon state that the ars goetia is a family that Stella is getting married into? That means that she is not inherently part of the ars goetia, BUT then again, andrealphus is part of the ars goetia so IDK. I just really don't like the idea of them all being birds (it does make sense for stolas, andrealphus, and even Paimon since that's not his true form and he only shapeshifted into one so he can look more like Stolas's biological father) I think the reason why Stella and Octavia aren't seen in the official Ars Goetia is because all the demons in the (official) Ars Goetia are male.
My theory is the Ars Goetia is just the collective name for that group of demon, its like e.g. Harry Potter with the "The Sacred Twenty-Eight" families (FYI the bird theme was likely to keep in theme with Stolas & to make them stand out from the other Demons of Hell). There's likely many different families within the Ars Goetia likely 72 with each head of the house acting as their family's representative to serve Hell, with their duties passed down from one head of the family to the next (hence why Octavia was born, she's next in line for Stolas's postion). If I had to guess Andrealphus (Stella's brother) is the head of Stella's family, Stella was likely married off to "form an alliance" with Paimon through marriage & create a child to take over for Stolas should he die, two birds with one stone (pun intended).
@@JamesDavy2009 I wouldn't be surprised if there was a few Jamie & Cersei's running around, but I suspect most of the Ars Goetia are arranged marriages for political gain.
I fuckin LOVE Paimons design. The colours fit so well and the golden trim shows his royal status. The black/grey feathers look somewhat sinister and demon-esque but don't fight against the other colours. His design is probably my favourite in the show so far.
6:35 you forgot the part where that also means Stolas could sync the full moon even thousands of years ago because the full moon intervals are the same
You had mentioned his age was unknown in the flashback - Octavia is 17 and it was a 25 year flashback, meaning Stolas is currently in his mid 30s most likely if he had her at 18 or 19 - he'd have been 10 or 11 when he learned of his 'purpose'. I'm willing to bet 11 lol
Can we just like.. Appreciate the fact that Vivzie and the team did research to include actual demon lore stuff? Like.... it would've been so easy to just make a show about demons with crazy made up names but they put some irl in there and that's just cool.
So I have a similar story concept which uses the ars goetia as the main cast of royalty and I also got around the time frame by making the ars goetia titles instead of names. This is because the seal used to summon the demon summons based on name as you're able to have power over a demon if you have their name. So the seal can be used to summon whoever has the title stolas as opposed to the summoner knowing that demons true name. It's very possible to me that vivzie and team had a similar idea.
4:42 Actually there is a text called "the testament of Solomon" where the titular king is shown summoning demons to construct a temple for God. This text is not recognized as canon but it could regardless serve as inspiration for the show. There is a youtube channel called "the legends of history" who did an entire series on this text if you want to learn more.
Is this not a post Christ talmudic legend? I read about this, but it still doesn't date back to the second temple period as far as im aware, which is where the bible stories about it come from.
@@juniorkusma7937 "Biblical canon" is where the word "canon" comes from. "Non-canon" is called "apocrypha". The first time it was used for modern fiction is with Sherlock Holmes.
@@CartoonUniverse I don’t really know where it originates. Or if its pre or post talmudic. I just pointed out that a pretty old non canon religious work where Solomon does indeed summon demons exists. So the statement in the video is correct that Solomon never summons demons in canon but in non canon it actually does.
This show just layers it's characters and their backstory so frickin beautifully. And my god their designs! This show has the best designed characters ever. I'm desperate to learn more about Stolas and the Ars Goetia and about Blitz and the circus. Episode 2 I need you!!!
Tbh, the peeps who thought that hell's time was slower than humans on earth was pretty awesome, but yes, when you truly think about it, it doesn't make much sense. Great catch!
if Stolas did indeed inherit the position and that was an explanation for his age and real-life not coming together, then it's weird for Pimon not to know the name of his son since apparently he raises the same guy over and over
You know what I might’ve theorized? That when Stolas and Blitzø were talking as kids, and Blitzø asked him if he wanted to work for him, or that he’d hire Stolas rather, I think that might be foreshadowing Stolas’ fall from Grace with the other Goetia and then, having nowhere else to turn, goes to Blitzø for work. What do you think? Think I’m onto something?
@@minaropaa7535 I could also see Octavia not being happy about it, and trying to escape that fate too. (And maybe Blitzø being Petty enough to make Stolas do pretty demeaning things because he treated him as just a toy, like, making him the company mascot and forcing him to dance around to advertise I.M.P., being in charge of the coffee, making him clean out their toilets, that sort of thing.)
I think it was illustrating not only how as children they didn’t fully understand how their world worked, but how they regarded each other enough as equals to talk like that. Blitzo is being boisterous and Stolis is being supportive and playing along with it. Though, I think he liked the idea of working with the imp in the future.
Stolas was about 10 years old, he is 36 right now and we know that around a year has passed since Stolas and Blitzø’s ahem, *encounter*. Meaning he was probably around 35 at that time, which minus the 25 years is 10 years, if using the same ideas for Blitzø who is currently 34 he would be around 8 at the time.
I wonder if there are any non-avian Goetia demons. Ya know, in the official Ars Goetia not each of them looks like a bird, for example Amduscias, the duke, is a unicorn with a humanoid body, while Furfur, an earl, is a deer with wings
Do you think Paimon is also father of some Ars Goetia demon? Because if yes that's giving me question how often are they doing weddings between siblings.
Getting to meet Stoleus and his family is pretty cool 😎 but I’m really curious on what is like Stella brother is like as we have only see shots of him from the hell of a boss team
After watching season 2 episode 1 of Helluva Boss it just made me feel sympathy for stolas. It just makes me feel sorry for him because his whole life was planed for him and he didn’t even get a say in the matter.
@@JamesDavy2009 That does seem like a running theme. There are far more expectations regarding keeping the family’s rank and prestige, and jobs or roles that are considered less prestigious are looked down upon as shameful. Within royalty especially, children are considered political pawns to be traded for power.
2 things that collide: - Markiz helping with assassination to be "promoted" and replace Stolice - Octavia being replacment until another Stolice would be spawned Both seems contradictory to eachother - since if there is already replacment waiting, why would Markiz hope for promotion? Octavia would just fill in for her father until replacment is ready and Markiz would then stay where he is... Unless assuming Octavia would be dead as well?
Lucifer sometimes is in the form of a legged serpent 🐍, other times a multi-headed dragon. 🐉Also in Sumerian myth, Tiamat is a creation goddess who's in the form of a giant dragon.
It be kind of funny if the Helluva Boss iterations of the Ars Goetia are all bird or bird-themed when the Ars Goetia was pretty much every animal you can think of.
ANDREALPHUS IS ACTUALLY STELLA'S BROTHER. WHEN SHE'S ABOUT TO SLAP STOLAS AT THE END OF EPISODE 1 OF SEASON 2, SHE SAIDS "Andrealphus-" AND THE GETS CUT OFF DUE TO STOLAS STOPPING HER FROM SLAPPING HIM. THEN SAYING, "I don't care what your arrogant brother thinks."
It’s an interesting thought that though the goetia owls have there own ranks and levels of power than most of there own kind. However if one bad thing were to happen to the highest level to one of the goetia owls one would take its place. Somewhat like Andrealphus taking Stolas place
i have an idea: what if every branch of the goetia is decanded from a diffrent deadly prince? oz has chicken elements, so maybe stolas's extended family are his decandens, but maybe other branch's of the goetia are from the other seven prince's, and wont be bird like? it a complete guess, and prob' isent true, but still.
To explain the timeline i like to think that time affects different species differently. For example imps and demons age differently. That would explain how Stolas can be thousands of years old and Blitzø younger even though they were kids around the same age.
All the Goetia aren't avian in nature, and I hope vivzie doesn't force them all to be, but there are a great many of the Goetia spirits with avian forms or features. They include: Amon, Naberius, Phenex, Malphas, Halphas, Raum, Shax, Camio, Andras, and Decarabia is all about birds in their expertise.
Stolas has quickly become my favorite character. He has the most development and it's hard not to like him. First I thought he was just a perv, but he has so much depth and charm. Plus he has to put up with a ton of crap which most people can relate to.
the prince of lust is depicted as having rooster legs in some depictions and there’s actually 7 kings that make up the ars goetia and Stella’s brother is married to stolas’s brother who appears to not have any real role and andrealphus is given similar roles to stolas with the only real difference being andrealphus also teaches people how the female reproductive system works in greater detail and he’s been confirmed by the crew he’s a real hateable person and possibly the helluva boss equivalent of hazbin hotels Ross
This is interesting since in Muslim mythology, King Solomon (prophet Solomon as mentioned by texts) rather than control the demons, enslaved them. He thereafter did feats of magic through the use of the demons like building a castle (non Muslim texts and sources say it is a temple). There’s another tale based around how Solomon impressed Queen Sheeba (a mythological queen who ruled over a land where the sun was worshipped, though I don’t know which land this could be traced to on our current day) by having a demon teleport his seat to Queen Sheba’s castle. In another story, King Solomon has Queen Sheeba visit his Castle, and because of one of the demons, the floor turns into see through glass and has water flowing underneath. When the Queen Sheeba comes to visit, she raises her dress in order to not get wet, but realises the floor was made out of glass.
Perhaps Solomon simply never existed In the hazbin hotel universe. While the creators of the show do take inspiration from the lesser key, that does not make them bound by it.
Wait... Helluva Azmoedeus was supposed to be a ROOSTER!? I had no idea! I thought he was either supposed to be some ambiguous thing (as to not make him too human-like) or a bug thing. I would have never guessed he was some sort of bird!
Honestly I'm under the believe that either 1. the show doesn't run on our "Cannon" for demons or 2. he might just be the "current Stolas" But didn't Vivzie said that Hellborn demons are NOT immortal? It should then apply to Stolas and all of the Goetias aswell.
Stolas is the 37th demon of the goetia and one of the first demons I invoked and worked with when I started practicing goetic magic. He taught me the lunar alignments of all the 72 demons of the lesser key of solomon and is one of the friendliest and well-spoken demons I worked with. I've also worked with paimon (the 9th demon of goetia) and paimon gave me my first familiar from his third legion of demons which has kept me safe for such a long time. I study a lot into goetia so if you want me to point out any inaccuracies about helluva boss' take on the lesser key of solomon I'm happy to oblige!
I am expecting for a couple weeks now that he is saying something like "but I couldn't find any references or information about [DEMONNAME] in the lesser keys of solomon or any other work. So I summoned a few demons myself to consult them and they confirmed that..."
Anyone else get the feeling that stolas knew he was in strikers scope amd would have been able to avoid dying without blitz anyways? The way he turned his head with a stranger than normal smile in the scopes dorection makes me feel this way.
Personally I believe the whole 'stolas existed in the 1600s but is also 40' can be explained by the ars goetia not being a book in this universe. Maybe there exists no ars goetia book and the family is the only thing holding the title goetia
I'm definitely the most curious about Andrealphus at this point and also think that the whole there being prior Stolas' is possible. While I don't like Episode 1 of Season 2, the lore in it is pretty decent.
Wanted to add on to what you were explaining about Asmodeus. In real world text he’s got roots as well in Persian text with possibly being the demon Aeshma. Just an extra little layer, while probably not going to have any bearing in the show, that I wanted to share cause it’s cool.
You can see most of the cities on some guys shirt in Hellavu Boss and one of them says "Pride:Royal Circle" or it might have said Royal Centre idk something with a C which is probably where all the Ars Goetia live, maybe even with Lucy's house in the very center of it.
I think it makes sense that either the well known demons in the show are decedents of the ones from very old texts that have the same names OR the version of Earth in the show isn’t exactly the same as the real Earth and they have different mythology OR something else of course
Idk why, maybe it's just me, but 1 thing i can say about cartoon universe's videos especially on this one, has me learning abt different hell beings and different things like it- For example (smt i didn't pay much attention to but still kinda thought abt) i never knew paimon wasn't stolas's dad, you would think they would maybe have some connection of bloodline o f sorts for viv to do that but they don't and that's something that just makes me like helluva and hazbin more, makes it more fun to watch it a way Also can we agree the background music is funky af- like i just love watching these videos and then just hearing the music here and there is just 💖😌
it could also be that stolas spell book doesn't just take him to the human realm but can also take him to the human realm at different time periods it just happens to be more commonly used for present day instead of past or maybe even future
Okay what if - such as in royalty you were sometimes giving name of ancestor to the succesor. What if there were other demons named Stolas and handling his role? And it’s just a circle of reborn, kinda like in Avatar, with every other Goetia demon? They live, they die, the title is pushed forward.
Fun fact: Stolas sings has been being referenced for a long time now. Asking with Stolas speaks and the theme in the background during episode 6 when he decided to summon himself. (Still badass)
a thought occurs to me... they want a steady flow of sinners in... then the cleansing weeds out the weaker ones leaving only the strongest demons at the command of the princes.
I noticed how Paimon shapeshifted into an owl like creature to talk to stolas, making me think he does the same for his other children.
how so i always see u 💀

Ep1 would have to be less then a month after Blitz stole the book, since Stolas was saying he would need it for the next full moon implying he had it during the last full moon.

I don't know if it has been officially said that human sinners are the native population of the Pride ring, but now it seems to me that Bird demons are the inhabitants of pride
If you think about it, we have seen a lot of Bird demons (specially after this episode), meaning that they are more comon that we initally thought, and not only are they part of the nobility of hell, they are also a text book definition of the word arrogant
It would seem then that Bird Demons are the native species of the Pride ring and that their role in society is to be the nobility (just like wrath imps are farmers for example)
if we speculate a little more, we could deduce that they lure humans to hell with demonic pacts (the Goetia Demons are known for being sumoned by humans to make deals with them) and political manipulation (as indicated by Stolas in the pilot) just like succubus lure humans with seduction.
I don't really know, but it makes sense to me
If what Stolas said in the pilot is still canon, then that's the case yeah, cuz he said a political candidate is causing trouble to a few of his associates

@@justapineapple8464 Nobility and royalty are passed to descendents and family,

I think the Ars just enjoy being in pride/lucifer
Right, my point was that each king would father every prince, marquis etc. beneath them.
I just checked some demonology on the internet and it turns out that the Ars Goetia Asmodeus is different from the other Asmodeus (Asmodeus had a son who he very creatively named Asmodeus/Asmoday)

It makes sense given Stella’s aggression & abuse. Her brother is likely next in line/head of that house, so she probably was raised on that violence.
It would be interesting to see Malphas (a giant crow demon prince from the Ars Goetia, and the 39th one listed). He's a little bit more powerful than Stolas. It would be cool if in the show they were related somehow since both are princes of hell.
That name resounds in my mind for some reason...Malphas is the probably demon who was actually Sebastian Michaelis, in Kuroshitsuji?
Except Malphas is a president
The title of King of the ars goetia may have just been given to Asmodeus as a sort of gift from the highest ranking King Baal, in order to improve relations.Even if Asmodeus dosent have the highest rank, he is by far the most powerful in terms of sheer brute strength, political clout, and the size of his legions.
I think the title of king comes from his position of the ruler of the lust ring, rather than his overall rank in the arms goetia or hell itself.
@@Scardy Asmodeus is one of the 72 demons named in the Ars Goetia, where he holds the rank of king. He also happens
to be one of the deadly sins which he is the King of Lust. So it's both actually.
it's possible that Stolus wasn't the first to have his name and it was his ancestor who built king Solomon's temple.
It’s likely the show isn’t fully using the actual canonical lore for its story.
They are probably just using an idea that the “king” Goetia are the oldest and all the other Goetia are their descendants. Curious if we’ll be told otherwise
Especially since not all Goetia are depicted as birds.

Maybe they shapeshifted into birds for the party
It was common in royalty for incestuous couples to occur for the sake of keeping the bloodline pure.
6:35 you forgot the part where that also means Stolas could sync the full moon even thousands of years ago because the full moon intervals are the same
I don't think everything in the show is 100% based on real-life texts, but I do think Ozzie has a very clever design, given his real-life description.
It was on his hatch day when he learned of his destiny, so likely just turned 11.
Its possible Stolas, as royalty, was named after the biblical Stolas, just as dozens of real life kings and queens were named after their ancestors
Actually, in the book of tobit Asmodeus also has the legs and tail of a rooster, so his appearance could also be a reference to that.
Now let's all agree that Blitz being a succubi was a great theory
4:42 Actually there is a text called "the testament of Solomon" where the titular king is shown summoning demons to construct a temple for God. This text is not recognized as canon but it could regardless serve as inspiration for the show. There is a youtube channel called "the legends of history" who did an entire series on this text if you want to learn more.
Is this not a post Christ talmudic legend? I read about this, but it still doesn't date back to the second temple period as far as im aware, which is where the bible stories about it come from.
The fact you used CANON, for a biblical text is funny for me
@@juniorkusma7937 "Biblical canon" is where the word "canon" comes from. "Non-canon" is called "apocrypha". The first time it was used for modern fiction is with Sherlock Holmes.
@@CartoonUniverse I don’t really know where it originates. Or if its pre or post talmudic.
Think I’m onto something?
that sounds highly plausible! good theory
@@Scardy I suppose that could be true too. Guess we’ll see, huh?
Aw I hope so. I bet he fights really cool.
Paimon’s probably a playboy since he’s got a lot of kids including Stolas who I guess comes from a different mother than all of his siblings.
After watching season 2 episode 1 of Helluva Boss it just made me feel sympathy for stolas. It just makes me feel sorry for him because his whole life was planed for him and he didn’t even get a say in the matter.
That's the downside of royal or upper class life.
@@JamesDavy2009 That does seem like a running theme. There are far more expectations regarding keeping the family’s rank and prestige, and jobs or roles that are considered less prestigious are looked down upon as shameful.

Perhaps Stolas was just named after a previous Goetia named Stolas... And so was his father and so on...
I like the idea of stolas being named after another stolas from past
Paimon is a being of many names and forms.
2 things that collide:
- Markiz helping with assassination to be "promoted" and replace Stolice
- Octavia being replacment until another Stolice would be spawned
Both seems contradictory to eachother - since if there is already replacment waiting, why would Markiz hope for promotion? Octavia would just fill in for her father until replacment is ready and Markiz would then stay where he is... Unless assuming Octavia would be dead as well?
Lucifer sometimes is in the form of a legged serpent 🐍, other times a multi-headed dragon. 🐉Also in Sumerian myth, Tiamat is a creation goddess who's in the form of a giant dragon.

i have an idea: what if every branch of the goetia is decanded from a diffrent deadly prince? oz has chicken elements, so maybe stolas's extended family are his decandens, but maybe other branch's of the goetia are from the other seven prince's, and wont be bird like? it a complete guess, and prob' isent true, but still.
To explain the timeline i like to think that time affects different species differently. For example imps and demons age differently. That would explain how Stolas can be thousands of years old and Blitzø younger even though they were kids around the same age.
So you're saying Stolas was like hundreds of years old when he met Blitzo and grew up to an adult form in 25 years ?
All the Goetia aren't avian in nature, and I hope vivzie doesn't force them all to be, but there are a great many of the Goetia spirits with avian forms or features.
They include: Amon, Naberius, Phenex, Malphas, Halphas, Raum, Shax, Camio, Andras, and Decarabia is all about birds in their expertise.
Paimon is literally Lucifers most loyal. Asmodeas is loyal, but Paimon, in REAL LIFE lore, is considered to be Lucifers right hand man.
Also, i have a copy of the Ars Notoria and Key of Solomon on my files
Stolas has quickly become my favorite character. He has the most development and it's hard not to like him. First I thought he was just a perv, but he has so much depth and charm. Plus he has to put up with a ton of crap which most people can relate to.
Lol I like how Paimon calls Stolas “the owl boy”
I have no idea who you are, but seeing how you're so knowledgeable about the Key of Solomon got me interested. Have a like and sub 👍
Some couple in the background are wholesome especially the twos dancing with each other.
the prince of lust is depicted as having rooster legs in some depictions and there’s actually 7 kings that make up the ars goetia and Stella’s brother is married to stolas’s brother who appears to not have any real role and andrealphus is given similar roles to stolas with the only real difference being andrealphus also teaches people how the female reproductive system works in greater detail and he’s been confirmed by the crew he’s a real hateable person and possibly the helluva boss equivalent of hazbin hotels Ross
I like the idea that Stolas, Andrealphus, Paimon and co. are not all one guy but a role that has to be filled since the Ars Goetia exist.
Nice, An Interesting Analysis

Perhaps Solomon simply never existed In the hazbin hotel universe. While the creators of the show do take inspiration from the lesser key, that does not make them bound by it.
I do believe the other 2 avian demons in alastors backstory are a part of stolas's family perhaps his other brothers
Those are overlords thou. Aka sinners
Paimons face “plate” also looks like a mask, so it could indeed symbolize him masqerading as different creatures.
Me: I say stoles 5 year old and now he in his 30
RUclipsr: he is 1000 year old
One idea I had regarding the timeline is that they use time travel for one reason or another.
If 1 year in Hell was 10 on Earth, Hellborns like Blitzø could very well be nearly centuries old.
Wait... Helluva Azmoedeus was supposed to be a ROOSTER!? I had no idea! I thought he was either supposed to be some ambiguous thing (as to not make him too human-like) or a bug thing. I would have never guessed he was some sort of bird!
Wow btw I found this fascinating, I love hearing about the mythology of my shows. Keep it up please love this
Honestly I'm under the believe that either
1. the show doesn't run on our "Cannon" for demons or
2. he might just be the "current Stolas"
But didn't Vivzie said that Hellborn demons are NOT immortal?
Stolas is confirmed to age in "Hell Years"
I am expecting for a couple weeks now that he is saying something like "but I couldn't find any references or information about [DEMONNAME] in the lesser keys of solomon or any other work. So I summoned a few demons myself to consult them and they confirmed that..."
Anyone else get the feeling that stolas knew he was in strikers scope amd would have been able to avoid dying without blitz anyways? The way he turned his head with a stranger than normal smile in the scopes dorection makes me feel this way.
this guy detailing Helluva Boss lore :skull:
Personally I believe the whole 'stolas existed in the 1600s but is also 40' can be explained by the ars goetia not being a book in this universe. Maybe there exists no ars goetia book and the family is the only thing holding the title goetia
I'm definitely the most curious about Andrealphus at this point and also think that the whole there being prior Stolas' is possible.
While I don't like Episode 1 of Season 2, the lore in it is pretty decent.
The ars goetia are my favorite part of helluva boss ngl
Wanted to add on to what you were explaining about Asmodeus. In real world text he’s got roots as well in Persian text with possibly being the demon Aeshma. Just an extra little layer, while probably not going to have any bearing in the show, that I wanted to share cause it’s cool.
Word of the creators says Stollas is 36 currently so that means flashback Stollas was at most 11, more likely 9 or 10.
You can see most of the cities on some guys shirt in Hellavu Boss and one of them says "Pride:Royal Circle" or it might have said Royal Centre idk something with a C which is probably where all the Ars Goetia live, maybe even with Lucy's house in the very center of it.
I think it makes sense that either the well known demons in the show are decedents of the ones from very old texts that have the same names OR the version of Earth in the show isn’t exactly the same as the real Earth and they have different mythology
OR something else of course
My take in time in hell vs time in our world is that (and I think this fits better) that one thousand years in our world is one year in hell at most.

For example (smt i didn't pay much attention to but still kinda thought abt) i never knew paimon wasn't stolas's dad, you would think they would maybe have some connection of bloodline o f sorts for viv to do that but they don't and that's something that just makes me like helluva and hazbin more, makes it more fun to watch it a way
Also can we agree the background music is funky af- like i just love watching these videos and then just hearing the music here and there is just 💖😌
You're going to love the videos I am doing on Satan, Lucifer, and the Garden of Eden all week then! Lots of lore!
I would actually love to see other goetic demons be in the show. Like Bael or Barbatos or even Kimaris
Nice, a fellow IBO enjoyer
I love the imp oc he looks charming 😍
it could also be that stolas spell book doesn't just take him to the human realm but can also take him to the human realm at different time periods it just happens to be more commonly used for present day instead of past or maybe even future
Okay what if - such as in royalty you were sometimes giving name of ancestor to the succesor. What if there were other demons named Stolas and handling his role? And it’s just a circle of reborn, kinda like in Avatar, with every other Goetia demon? They live, they die, the title is pushed forward.
1:02 ..so are we just not gonna talk about that smooth transititon?-
Fun fact: Stolas sings has been being referenced for a long time now. Asking with Stolas speaks and the theme in the background during episode 6 when he decided to summon himself. (Still badass)
I noticed that while rewatching Truth Sekkers yesterday. I like that Stolis has his own leitmotif.
a thought occurs to me... they want a steady flow of sinners in... then the cleansing weeds out the weaker ones leaving only the strongest demons at the command of the princes.
they were 5 at the time because stolas said it's been two decades since he first blitzø in episode 1 season 2
0:27 A hell yeah. This table can now be updated
