I understand it was NOT a gift. It is not the privvy of any monarch to gift anything on crown estate. Crown estates are held in trust for what the monarch feels is appropriate use in the service of the country and the crown. The crown estate website says only Balmoral and Sandringham are owned by King Charles in a private capacity and he can gift them or sell them if he so chooses. Using properties on Windsor as a landing pad for Harry when he comes over for polo and parties is not seen as in the public interest.

How about this for a solution. Think of an amount that Harry/Meghan could ''donate'' to good causes in a year (say a couple of million each per year) and then charge that much in rent making sure they KNOW that the money will be going directly to charities in countries like Nigeria, the UK, other commonwealth countries IN THE NAME OF THE MONARCHY (definitely not in their names or that of Archewell). I understand it was NOT a gift. It is not the privvy of any monarch to gift anything on crown estate. Crown estates are held in trust for what the monarch feels is appropriate use in the service of the country and the crown. The crown estate website says only Balmoral and Sandringham are owned by King Charles in a private capacity and he can gift them or sell them if he so chooses. Using properties on Windsor as a landing pad for Harry when he comes over for polo and parties is not seen as in the public interest.
