Do you mean that we should have put the nylon washers in so they were sandwiched between the bracket and the handrail on both sides of the handrail? Nylon washers go on inside of top mount nut protecting the handrail folding and slips easier. Ooops!

After installing mine I’m pretty sure it would break before the mount comes off the camper, the mounting to the camper is super secure.
