My husband and I have been on Keto for over 2 years...best thing we've done...we also walk for miles a couple of times a week...we feel so much better.
Sharon is so right about ready meals etc. When I worked every few weeks on a Sat or Sun I used to do a load of bstch cooking to put meals in the freezer. I made chilli, pasta sauce, casseroles, stews, cottage pies etc. The majority of the meals were put in the plastic takeaway cartons that I bought from Home Bargains. I could then just take out what I fancied & reheat it in the microwave. Even if I didn't know what I fancied in the morning I could take something out when I got home & microwave it. I once did bacon ribs & cabbage in the pressure cooker & had mashed potato with it & it did me two nights like that but I then soaked some peas & made pea & ham soup with the rest of the meat off the bacon ribs. The ribs cost me £2.50, cabbage 50p for a big bag & the peas were 50p for 2 boxes & potatoes £1.....so £4.50 for all my evening meals & still put some of the soup in the freezer! That was about 12 yrs ago so don't know how much it would cost now, but still a lot cheaper & healthier than ready meals
Sounds good but you can't just take everything out of the freezer and straight into the microwave. Or so I've been told. No idea really but don't want to die because of a microwave meal.
@@JazzFunkNobby1964 Don't know who or where you've been told that, but you've been misinformed!! Most microwaves have a defrost facility on them so you obviously defrost then cook. It doesn't really matter because it's already cooked so as long as you reheat it properly & make sure everything is heated through/piping hot you can just reheat/cook it from frozen. Bet you haven't realised that half the stuff you buy "fresh" has already been frozen but you can still safely freeze it again....if you look at the packaging it tells you on some of the products. What do you think butchers do with all their meat when they close for a day or two? It goes in the freezers & you buy it "fresh" & go home & freeze some of it! Don't die of shock now😱😂😂 Edit: I've looked at some of your other comments & they are all negative "what about the gravy & Maggie seasoning etc?" & "all these drinks are just money making ideas" ......you must be a barrel of laughs at parties. You go on sharing your info and everyone may choose to try it out if they fancy. I personally appreciate all that you do. Have you ever tried programming for less time on your pressure cooker and allowing the residual pressure to do the rest. in my country we use ' la olla rápida' which is a better version of our old 'olla express' (metal on heat pressure cookers). heat on maximum until the weight /gage goes up ( the pressure is correct) then I lower the heat source to the lowest possible ( 300 on my induction) Then I use the timer for 6 to 7 minutes for basmati rice. Once the induction goes off I allow the pressure to reduce on its own, any cooking is finished off with no more electricity use. I do this with all food only adjusting the time depending on the food and or the amount.. All the best, pleased to see your enthusiasm🙂
Never heard of short ribs but going to get some from our butcher ,you live and learn with you two all the time you have changed my life , being shown how to use things by you makes it so easy when you buy the air fryers etc. and like Sharon I love my Cosori pressure cooker ❤
The proof that it's working is in your much improved and fantastic health results Martin, well done. Ye are a great team. Another fab meal choice well executed. Looking forward to the next one.
Hi Sharon and Martin, I've been making my own fresh meals up in bulk for year's, including stews, curries etc. I have a vacuum sealer machine, I make up bags for portion size label them up add the contents seal the bags up and then freeze them, you can then do a boil in the bag with them from frozen. I also blanch and freeze my own fresh organic fruit and vegetables, and it goes without saying to freeze your own fresh meat, poultry and fish, it's a much healthier way of living.
Hi Sharon and Martin. Thank you both for absolutely amazing videos of your daily meal plans. Loving all the ideas for my family meals. Great work guys, looking forward to watching your videos every day. Xx

When I finish work on a Friday night at 10pm all I want to do is chuck a ready meal in the microwave and to be honest they're flipping horrible lol, I love my veg and you've shown me how to do it, I'm in my mid 60's and hate change but I'm gonna have a bash at this, I've also bought an air fryer because of you and I love it! Hi Sharon and Martin. I saw a great idea on RUclips for boiled potatoes. 🥔 He peeled and diced the potatoes then put them in a plastic bag tied it in a knot, then poked holes in the bag with a fork 🍴 and put them in a microwave for 7 minutes. It works it actually saves me getting my steamer out.
Hi Martin,I watched this video last night and I’ve NEVER pressure cooked Green veg till I saw it and so I thought I’d give my Green veg today for 5 min in my 15 in 1…Wow the veg tasted lovely and I did like Sharon did and used the water left in pressure cooker to mix with the gravy granules…amazing…keep up the good healthy videos Martin and Sharon coz I love watching your amazing cooking videos❤❤

Hello from Australia, I’m loving the low carb food ideas, we’re doing the same so you give me ideas every day, this is a huge help. I love your show guys xx
Beef and marrow bones mixed with celery onions and with carrots make a wonderful stock for gravy much better than the granules. It will take a few hours of your time but well worth it. Nice video. Well done.
I gave up all the processed foods and prepare all my foods from scratch. It’s scary what goes in to food to prolong its life. I was in bakery trade for 36 years and there’s a lot of unnecessary stuff added. If you research food manufacturing, they’ve been doing it donkeys! The net result of giving up and eating fresh is weight loss and a healthy gut which is essential for good living. Good on you both !
I even bake my own bread with the breadmaker, cuz I had so much troubles with the cheap flour! Now I buy directly from the mill and they provide old grains, scince than no more rumors inside 😅😊
@@schumi145gaby2 I’m so pleased you found the answer that works for you! Most plant bakeries pump preservatives in their slice bread, purely so they can make it, slice it and store it, rather than rush it out the door. Warburtons is the only one that pressure themselves to ship out fresh bread, but their bread has deteriorated over the years. Everything is made to a price😞
Warburton bread sucks. Most bread that you buy in a plastic bag is crap. I don't know the best option but I would imagine buying fresh from a bakery every day is a good start. @@daveydingle
My friend worked at the bakery in Morrisons & I asked him what did he do in the afternoons? (He started about 4am & obviously finished around lunch time) He said he made fresh bread for his family! I said why don't you just bring some home with you? & he said it's got additives to make it stay fresher for longer & something in the flour to make it look whiter! He used to make a small fresh loaf & some muffins/rolls every day so he knew what was in the bread his family was eating. Up until then I thought buying the fresh bakery bread was better than buying the prepacked Hovis/Warburtons etc as it was fresh, but obviously fresh doesn't necessarily mean additive free & better. I asked him to start & make me some & I used to give him money for it. He moved with his family last year so I had to find a bakery nearby that didn't use additives. Since then I've stopped eating carbs & processed foods so it doesn't matter now. If I was to have bread though I'd make my own, but the only trouble is it wouldn't last because I'd be putting butter on as soon as it came out of the oven & it would be gone in seconds 😂😂 My mum used to make our bread when we were kids & she used to let me have a slice with butter on when it came out of the oven & then she'd put the rest out of my reach🤣🤣
@@Angel-002 Hi! Instore bakery additives are much much less than the ones found in plant production. They give you a 2/3 days, where others give a lot longer. Your abs right folks, we grew up eating dripping my nan used to fry the sausages and por it over the tatas and veg, nanny lived to 97 grandad smoked all his life and worked at poplar docks very hard work and he passed in his mid eighties . We grew up eating plates of veg not too much meat coz there was six of kids. The food then was much healthier than today. Ou4 only processed or ready prep food was pie and mash or fish n chips. Lots of stews kept us going and with mums dumplings.i like the idea of roast turnips, gotta try them

Missing the “I’m going in”, “you know” and “full metal jacket” and the music when you take that first bit. 😢❤️, love that you’re trying to eat healthier, it’s a tough job. ❤️🇨🇦
Good news on the blood glucose mate. I stopped eating refined carbs years ago (bread, pasta, rice, and potatoes) and my blood glucose went down to 5.7 (hbA1c). Not surprising really when carbs are just joined up glucose molecules Keep it going mate.
Looks delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your health and eating plan. Well done guys 👍

What lovely dinner you have you can beat gravy made with the water you have còoked your veggies in and meat ,it make me mad when you se the price of organic veg at one time everything was organic and the was no such thing as wonky veg or fruit .i remember when i was at school in the 60s we had to scrape our plates into a big bin and a man used to collect it it went to the farmer to feed his pigs on my grandma died st 89 years old and she are everything.the were butterflys on the veg and bum used to say now dont forget to soak the veg in salt water to get rid of all the bugs my sister once cooked diner and forgot to soak the cauliflower when mu m got home from work she dished the dinner up but couldnt dish up yhe cauliflower my sister never soaked it beforecooking and it was full of slugs caterpillors they should bring back stopping putting pesticides on the farms love fran xxx
Great video. Glad you are feeling better and taking control of your health. Thankyou for showing sweet Merlin, what a sweetie. Love to you both from cold Canada 😢
All professionals agree that processed food is responsible for our decline in health and rising obesity. This is not new. The last line from Professor Tim Spectors book says ‘ he can’t tell you what to eat exactly but your best chance is to eat like your grandparents did!!’… that is the voice of the leading expert. …. He must have been watching your channel Martin 😉
Hi Martin,
Good to see you're enjoying the available "clean food"
You're looking really well on it💯👍😃😀
I am currently suffering from an infected leg that hurts a lot. If you two are praying people, can you say one for me. I need total healing-100%! Thankyou! My son has been making good meals for me. My sugars are down.

Everything you cook looks lovely and health keep up the good work. 😊
Lots of stews kept us going and with mums dumplings.i like the idea of roast turnips, gotta try them
Proper job in the kitchen 👍🏻🏴🙋🏼♂️

Do like to see the wolf barks, fantastic members of the family. Good advice on further research. But for me your research is good enough for me. Nice meal, as always. David from Northampton.

Love these videos, especially Merlin boy overseeing proceedings in the kitchen, his sniff test always makes me laugh 😃. Sharon and Martin you honestly don't know how much i appreciate your cooking videos, they are top class nutritional foods, and Shar8n makes it look so easy and delicious. Ps they are easy, just made your sponge pudding in the pressure cooker and it's delicious. ❤🇮🇪❤️🙏
Merlin in the kitchen would drive me insane. Always on the scrounge. I had a couple of cats like that. If I opened the fridge door they would be in there before me, guaranteed.
Hi martin and sharon. I was granny reared and always used veg water for gravy and gravy browning. Nothing like home cooked food
We all went shopping with Sharon and you, when you bought the meat, from Sainsbury, short ribs sounds delicious, 😊
Fab home cooking ❤
I'm enjoying watching your shows. Being in a wheelchair you give me great ideas with the gadgets and recipes that you provide. Keep up the good work .

Hi Sharon and Martin, thank you for all your video's, really enjoy watching.
Regarding the flax seeds - my friend used to grind hers and mine in a coffee bean grinder... less fuss. Just a tip you can use.❤
Thanks for sharing
I forgot to add congratulations on the health resuts Martin. Xx
Great video and informative, we can’t all afford all of your equipment sadly but will make use of the information you have given us and adapt cooking equipment. Thanks to you both again ❤
Dished up on cold plates!
Is that all you can say?
Yummy I love those meals you guys are cooking ❤
Great ideas Martin yummy food we won't recognise you both in the summer ❤
I've started eating a lot more spinach nowadays - it's really easy to prepare, 1 min in the microwave with a tablespoon of water. I add it to all sorts but I guess my favourite is to make a spinach and feta omelette for breakfast!
Looks good as alway’s.
Every time i watch your food videos My tongue is hanging out Spot on 👍👍👍👍
idd love them greens with just gravy on its own
I totally agree..I too have changed my diet having put on just over a stone. I'm a sea food lover, thus its salad seafood...plus long walks...no fast foods...🎉
