V has said his favorite singer of all times is Bing Crosby. He has always loved jazz. Last time they were in the US, he went to a small jazz club while others went to a stadium concert.

First, thank you for your adorable reaction. V/Kim Taehyung, our Jazz King. V was in his element. To me his voice is like silk, liquid honey, so velvety smooth. His voice just envelops you in a warm hug. We definitely need more. Minna Seo is a 20 yr old So Korean Jazz singer, is called “the Princess of Jazz “. She has her own RUclips account. Minna & V’s voices blended beautifully. You might recognize the Pianist, DocSkim & the Guitarist, John Eun. Both are friends of RM & worked with him on “Indigo “.
A big thank you to V’s beloved Grandmother who raised him till he was 14. Her influence in introducing V to the old classics, R&B, Swing & Jazz was just the beginning. She would be so proud of him. Cheek to Cheek was written by Irving Berlin for Fred Astaire in 1935 for the movie “Top Hat” with Ginger Rodgers. A great rendition was sung by Ella Fitzgerald with Louie Armstrong as well. Also, Tony Bennet & Lady Gaga.

Thanks for a great reaction. This was the best gift. You can tell that Tae really loves and takes Jazz seriously. He nailed not only the vocals but the whole atmosphere of Jazz from his clothing, the set, the live instruments. I love how Tae and Minna Soe's voices blend and I hope they do many more songs/performances together. She did the backing vocals for the version of It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas that Tae gave us for Christmas last year. I am so happy Tae is pursuing his love of Jazz and I'm sure he'll also pursue his love of R&B/Soul as well. I've been eager for his solo album and his performances like this make me even more so. I can't wait to see the various genres that Tae explores in his Chapter 2. Jazz is timeless and the type of music he can easily continue doing well into his advanced age. Taehyung is the greatest idol in all of kpop, he is the only musician in the industry who has a wide vocal range, the ability to sing in tenor or baritone tones, hit any note and be totally stable/refined. He is simply wonderful, I don't like kpop, but because of him I stay within this genre, I loved him and every one of his talents as soon as I met him, I understand why locals and in general everyone who listens to this was praising him. 💖
