YES, so glad to see the storm tornado run, probably my favorite ability in the game to use, though I've always been a fan of Tornado since rtdl, even if it was pretty op there. Honestly it wouldn't even be op if it was just as uncontrollable as it was in Kirby's adventure, but I digress. Can't wait to see the final time!
I've been a fan of Tornado since my first game Squeak Squad 😌 It used to be like a free-pass for all the bosses lol
Wait it wasn't controllable in Adventure??? That's quite disappointing..
well I mean like, you have much smoother control over it in rtdl and kfl, in Adventure (and maybe Nightmare in Dream Land?) it would turn around instantly and make it a lot more chaotic than the modern smooth turning. I kinda prefer the fast turning honestly, but only because I think it's a good way of nerfing it.
Its also a free pass in kirby's return to dreamland @@SJ_Kirbyits way too broken in that game and its amazing u can get pass the 3rd to last boss which is supposed to be the hardest.
Storm Tornado is a really interesting ability to play with. I really like the strat where you unleash the storm consistently since it’s the most damaging part of the ability. Also after watching this, I had no idea the enemies/stars home in once you release it. Makes up a lot for the ability since it no longer has invincibility. Great run overall, too!
Thanks so much!! Homing the stars and enemies was really useful. It has great damage output too. I would've used Swan Tornado more if it had the same feature. I personally prefer Swan's design over Storm heh

Sure would’ve been op if Tornado still had the invincibility like it did back in rtdl.
Yeah it's quite huge nuff for Tornado that it lost most of the invincibility.. but it's still pretty strong, y'know!
Honestly, I don't know why they nerfed tornado. I mean, they have a invincible copy ability in the form of drill, and it can do damage even when buried. I think if they were concerned of having duplicate abilities, I don't think they would have to worry with drill and tornado, as drill would work differently enough from tornado, both in terms of attack and how they would work in puzzles. Heck, I think if enemies didn't do contact damage if you bumped into them while in tornado (assuming if they aren't in the middle of an attack or something), that would make tornado much more viable.
Then again, I'm just glad the spinney boi is back 😅
@@michaelsleeman2443 Drill actually isn't completely invincible. I don't know exactly what makes it get hit sometimes but it is in fact inconsistent.
Huh, didn't know. I knew the final form, twin drill, was able to hit while under, and I just figured it was invulnerable to attacks and contact damage like how tornado used to be.
If certain attacks still hit it regardless that's understandable, I was just saying they have an ability immune to at least contact damage, would it have been bad for tornado to be immune as well. If drill in any form is still vulnerable to contact damage then I guess I missed something and I guess they removed most, if not all, forms of I-frames.
Thanks for telling me about drill. I didn't use it much in my playthrough so I didn't know much about it outside of what was needed for 100%.
@@michaelsleeman2443 Oh, I'm not too sure about drill. All I know is that on my runs of the arena SillyDilly's roll will hit through twin drill. My theories are either:
- It depends on your angle/speed
- It's random?
- The roll attack has a jank hitbox that attacks Kirby while he is 'underground' (Idk if Kirby's model actually goes underground or not but yeah)
I really like how the copy ability upgrade system after you complete the main game allows you to make literally any copy ability cracked beyond belief

They kinda missed the opportunity to add it in Star Allies,and I never understood why it wasn't in TD and PR
It may not be as busted as it was in RTDL,but it gets the job done!
I think the problem was that HAL lab couldn't figure out how to implement the wiimote shake move onto 3DS system. Still, they should've put Tornado. Wasted potential :/

Also the Triple Star can suck a big one,honestly
Both the Triple Star and Dark Nebula are a HUGE waste,and the worst thing is that this waste was passed on to Dark Crafter,making him look a lot worse than he could've actually been

@@Shadex_Joestar What makes Dark Nebula even more pathethic is that its originally called 'Dark Zero' in the Japanese version. Yup, it's just Dark + Zero.
Apparently Triple Star was suppose to be a different ability called Block. (Maybe it was meant to summon the Star Blocks or smth, idk) The dummy sprites show Kirby holding Triple Star while wearing a recolored version of Beam Hat which resembles Marx'. It would've been so much unique and better than the Triple Star we have now.
Also tbh, I personally think all the spin-off villains are kinda lame. Except for Gryll, Drawcia and Yin-Yarn.
@@SJ_Kirby agree on the Triple Star part,if it was a normal ability it would've been fine,but as a "Super Ability/Artifact(like the Star Rod)" sucks
Also,they knew what they were doing while creating Dark Nebula in Japan,since he is definetely an absolute Zero
I still love Squeak Squad,it's a good game but the way Dark Nebula was handled is just pitiful
At least let's be glad Dark Crafter didn't pretend to be Zero 3
Also,totally agree,the spinoff Villains aren't as good as the Mainline games,but that's ok since despite being worse we still have King D-Mind and others
@@Shadex_Joestar I'd prefer if Paintra's appearance in Triple Deluxe was some kind of tease and she's the one behind Rainbow Curse all along.
Also what I meant by 'spinoff villains' was more of those from DS-Wii era, D-Mind is cool 😙
Thank you for making this, I wanted to get good with tornado, but I struggled, and I used other abilities instead. I'll have to try the strats and mechanics you used in the video, because I let the animation play out instead of stopping it and I didn't do good damage, or at least not damage you did.
No problem! I'm glad that you find my video useful. I'd say try to home many stars and enemies as possible. Keep in mind that I was using fully upgraded Storm Tornado+☆ too! :D
TBH it really sucks that we don’t get sone sort of reskin of the mini bosses, let alone some sort of phantom recolor

I used to use Tornado like, whenever I fought bosses in Squeak Squad. It turly was OP.
@@SJ_Kirby Yaaas!! Possibly my favorite rendition of tornado to date, was possibly the best ability to fight Daroach and Dark Daroach with hands down.
The only bosses tornado had difficulty with were Doc's Crawl Machine and robo Kracko if I remember correctly... Was also a rather pretty ability.

I understand some of the fandom's gripes about it, but I'll never regret that fateful day at Gamestop when I chose Squeak Squad over Super Star Ultra.

The only problem I have with Squeak Squad was that Dark Nebula's fight was a little short. In other words, the only complaint I have about Squeak Squad WAS THAT THERE WASN'T ENOUGH OF IT.
...And that Ghost couldn't go through floors. Seriously HAL, you already integrated the flying Cupid ability, and even gave special animations to Ghost and UFO, only to not let them use ladders???
I'm gonna stop my rant now before I go out of control...
it is just absolutely brutal to blitz bosses with this ability, you keep bashing into them and they just melt

Ah, that's because Tornado never had its own unique colors. So firubii did the same to her mod.
BUT, there is a mod where it changes Kirby's color to Carbon. It's included in Spray Paint Pack by Xuman

Needle Kirby was yellow in the anime and Nightmare in Dream Land. And firubii stated that she made Drill Kirby brown in replacement for Stone Kirby :)
