You made it finally click. Played hockey since a kid through college juniors and all. Never picked up a golf club until 5 months ago. Couldn’t figure it out. Just took the stick out and then the club and good lord. Thank you sir

Michael, Ken Pierce Here. I am the person who sent you the right handed hockey stick (You were using a left handed one) when you were on the Golf Channel. Thank you for a very detailed description of using the stick. I love the fact that you emphasized the left hand (being high in the stick) and how it naturally helps to get the feel of more rotated (open) shoulders. Thanks again for a great video.

hockey was my big sport when i was young but could never quite tie it in with golf till now. i knew the action was similar cause we would swing or hit down on the puck and it would make a rising shot that would also spin and curve left a bit. i never had to analyze the action i picked it up very quick by watching my older brother. i still got a stick and skates so i'll try that drill. thnx so much, steve

On full shots...the Split Grip allows my right hand to control the clubface through impact...to either turn the club over and draw the ball or hold on and fade the ball. It's magical how the Split Grip allow you to work the ball. Here's another benefit everyone...use the Split Grip around the green. Oh my gosh...the Split Grip makes the Flop Shot soooo easy...just slide that right hand rapidly under the ball while maintaining that open face...and that ball shoots up like a rocket. And when chipping...at impact...add a little right hand release...to get the ball to run to the cup...which is the secret to all great chippers. When possible...always plan to have some run-out with the majority of your shots around the green...for the ball to always release quit a bit to the hole. Billy Casper taught this concept to Seve..and Seve taught this concept to Tiger. Watch Tiger hit sand shots...there is always a release...a run out with the ball. Seve's bunker shots always had release. I'm just saying...with the Split Grip...it's so much easier to create this release to the ball or a hold-block-fade action through impact. Play 2 weeks with the Split Grip. I really believe you'll lower your score...and have more fun shaping your shots like Bubba.

Congrats to you Mike Breed for picking up on the Hockey Stick as a training aid. If you tried to come over the top with a hockey stick with a real puck on ice or cement etc you would really hurt your hand and wrist. Instead with the hockey stick I would tell my kids it is move hips first then shoulders and hands follow. Sounds a bit like a better golf swing ehhh??? Believe it or not same with a baseball. If you hold your hands high and then release your hands soon then you will always hit a ground ball. For baseball it is hips first while your dropping hands then shoulders and finally hands and the kids start to hit line drives. Most kids can hit high pitches because they can swing up and keep the wrist angle. Throw them a pitch at the waist or lower they immediately loose their wrist angle the bat heads down and you get a ground ball.

michael, one more question, so you seem to be saying that the pivot and rotation and opening up moves the swing bottom more forward?

Wrong! When the CLUB moves correctly the body responds! The body DOES NOT move the club! Teach people how to use the CLUB! See hall of fame teachers, Ernest Jones, Manuel de la Torre, Bob Toski, Jim Flick.

No wonder Americas schooling system is one of the worst globally. Get to the point man... your explanation confuses everything and takes you off point.
