For some reason these depreciated very severely and very rapidly in those days. Even the later model I35 was essentially worthless only 6-8 years from new like a German car out of the warranty period. They were good cars with quality components and way better than any new Nissan product these days,

Agreed. And for some reason they're very rare on the used market. You'd find more ES300's and Acura CLs than one of these.

It's because the electronics were atrocious

Still have mine with 260,000 miles. Running very well and still doing exactly what it was built for.

My 97 just passed 210,000 with no major issues, just wear items. Still have cold AC. Very fun car with the 5spd transmission

Hell yeah! Beautiful car. Mine is the 4 speed auto but still a great, enjoyable dynamic drive. Its at 261,200 now, not driven as much lately but still going great. I will run this car forever@@fussbucket3080

The 2nd gen Lexus ES (300) had a five speed manual transmission, but maybe there wasn't enough demand to justify continued production, so they dropped it. They still made manual transmissions in the IS until the mid 2000's, the IS250 was the last Lexus to come so equipped.

I've been trying to find 1995 Lexus ES300 in good shape. They are almost impossible to find, especially with the Manual Transmission.
