  • OK, OK. Nothing to do with electronics what so ever. I just made it to test camera angles etc.
    However, having made it I thought I might as well publish it - you never know, someone out there might find it useful.

    I was running out of patience, but then I found your video. Your patience and análisis inspired me and I was able to fix my leash. Thank you!

    I learned from your video how to access the flat, tension spring, which is where I am currently at, so thank you. But some hopefully helpful critique: use an overhead lamp, or wear a headlamp so the viewer can see what you see. And place the camera overhead as well so that your hands don't block the view as much.

    VEry interesting! On mine, The leash started to retract too slowly, and I thought maybe the spring needed to be replaced. But now I see how tricky it is, I’m glad I went ahead and bought a new one - hopefully sturdier

    Thank you for sharing! Well I worked along with you and got it all put together and it wasn’t retracting. 😢 then I took the housing cover off and the spring leaped up and smacked me in the nose! 😂 oh well, I tried, no blood shed, just have to spend $30.00 for another one. I threw it away, it was to tangled to salvage.

    You have more patience than me sir I too managed well and discovered the coil,spring after much hair pulling. BUT a few moments on I released the spring total. omg you would not believe how much spring/coils are in it 50 revs at a guess so I bit it bowdeluxe. Ha ha new retractor on order.

    How do you take off the plastic thing by the cloth handle? I just want to shorten the rope where its cut at that end

    Our lead has shrunk to 1 meter length (nice doggie ....) It hasn't been the original 5 meters for a long time as me and my son have also tackled the workings of these contraptions so no problems there, however, does anyone know where I could get new tape, I keep trying different searches on Google but I don't get any further than the webbing that is used for normal dogleads and that is too chunky. Anyone any ideas ?

      Maybe a puppy leash 4 the webbing? It's def less bulky.

    All I would warn people off is to be carefull of that centre spring other springs cap pop out and its fine if that centre spring hits you the edges are sharp and it can slice skin under the tension its at. Other than that have fun.

    • @TripplikitElectronics
      @TripplikitElectronics  Месяц назад

      Yes, there is a fair amount of energy stored in the main spring. Though the most likely cause of failure it the main spring breaking so there won't be any tension on it when disassembling. You're right though - care is needed when reassembling.

    Well, I should have observed better and have held the spring with two fingers like you as I tested it right after fixing it back into the middle piece. It exploded right into my face. 🤦🏼‍♂️

    • @TripplikitElectronics
      @TripplikitElectronics  3 года назад

      Oh dear - I bet the spring is a pain to re-wind as well. Hope you got it back together.

    • @jiri4023
      @jiri4023 3 года назад

      @@TripplikitElectronics There's quite a bit of tension but I did manage to rewind it. I must've done something wrong though as it doesn't really work. It loses its tension easily, doesn't seem to run smoothly. Not sure if it needs a bit more grease or if I rewound it wrong but I guess it's a goner now. 😭
