ohhh boy dont get me started on this bullshit i have steelhead fished for many years and when i pull up to a stream like this i leave instantly..... fuck that
I fished the Salmon river once and only once and that was ENOUGH! This was because my brother inlaw (from Joisey go figgure) said it was awesome. Well I can tell you that what it did was reinforce my low opinion of New York and its occupants! Combat Fishing and Competition? its a joke! So I took my brother in law to my home waters - MICHIGAN....Last year we fished for 7 days straight, and by the 3rd day we were tired of catching fish.
Fished the Canadian Side of the St Mary's river at the Soo, the Muskegon and Manistee the Pere Marquette and several others that Im not going to mention - but suffice it to say that the most fisherment we saw was 3 others on the entire river...FYI just about every river or stream in Michigan has salmon and steelhead in them...pick your chioce of the river type you feel most comfortable fishing.
That's what its like here in Erie...years ago, we would be on this same stretch of creek and have it all to ourselves...times have changed. Even the best flyrodders snag fish when they are stacked up like cordwood. There's way, way too much snagging in the GL tributaries for my taste.
When I said tired...on any one of the days we fished we had well over 100 fish on - with flies to natural spawners - wild fish. Total we caught all 5 species of salmon.
with that many flies in the water a fish would have to bite one //just run a net across and call it sport ha ha you could discribe what style net how its tied and whatever
I would rather get kicked in the nuts with a steel toe work boot than fish under those conditions. I feel sorry for you east coast guys... but please don't come out west. Seeing 3 other guys on the Clearwater last weekend was plenty
that looks like alot of fun i wanna learn to fly-fish
Just put a stick up your ass and act like you own the river, that's what fly fisherman do. no skill here it like fishing in a swimming pool.
awesome im gonna book my trip out there right away so i can catch some spawning trout!
Poper technique IS very key up there!
+Mike Borosky HaHa

LMAO!!! 18 mile is Burt dam!!! I love the people that know everything.....
the two fellas at the beginning weren't exchanging flies, but passing da blunt! The guy on the right was filmed mid-toke. hah
One of the most important skills many of these guys master is their talent at flossing.
I couldn't get away from there fast enough. If I want a crowd I'll get on the subway.
Looks like fish aren't too shy ;o But I'd rather fish alone in the wilderness.
Looks like dudesville.
the carp are coming your way!!!!
Some people are in to this kind of fishin. I'd much rather make the drive or fish mid week
super!!!. Páči sa mi že odstránite pijavice!!. U nás ani nerobia, len zabijajú 25cm pstruhy.

love fishing up in new york but there isn't much technique about throwing a fly up stream and letting that shit drift hahaha
Man can't a lot change in 7 months. Funny how you progress and see things differently.
