I've been trying for a few months to learn Spanish with Duolingo. I have 170 consecutive days, and it is helping me. This story was quite a bit above my comprehension level, but I was able to understand the gist of the story! Thank you so much for speaking Spanish slowly! I know quite a few Spanish words, but spoken Spanish is very difficult for me to understand because of the speed at which it is spoken. I really appreciate your hard work to put this video together! Thanks again!
I dont want to like speak bad of your progress but I really think that duolingo should not be your go to. Ive been learning spanish for a week now and understood probably 80% of the story without a problem.
IDEAS FOR STORIES: Fantasy and science fiction based, elves and dwarves and spaceship journey, adventure like Robinson Cruseau or Indiana Jones, and historical like medieval period with El Cid or Spanish empire, but more story and themes, and less history to avoid overloading lesson. Loved this video, thank you!
I like this approach. It's a mellow pace, and it covers all the perception senses of reading, hearing, speaking and thinking about the message and being entertained by the story. I take issue with "60-year-old" men being portrayed as weak and feeble, white haired elderly men. Whoever created this story obviously is nowhere near 60. How about changing their age to 80?
The music, tone, and tempo make this perfect for listening to in the background while working or driving, providing an immersion experience. Wonderful! Gracias!!
I feel like it works better for me to do #2 first #1 second and maybe color coordinate the English and Spanish words, but overall it is a good way to learn another language.
As a horror enthusiast, the eerie tone of the narrator had me anticipating a sinister twist. I expected either the friend to betray Alex or for Alex’s story to take a tragic turn. The suspense is palpable - creating short Spanish Thriller stories could be a great idea!😅
Wow !!! this is the best story video I’ve seen for learning Spanish, and I do think stories are the best way to learn so you can learn in context and more likely to remember what you have learned as well. Glad I found this channel!
I found this video very helpful. Not only I learn through listening but the subtitles strengthen what I learn visually. I found Duo Lingo helpful at the early stages of learning Spanish but this style of teaching is awesome if you’re in the intermediate level. It’s almost like being in the environment. Thanks
The implicit lesson repeated throughout that it is important to encourage others is just as strong as the explicitly stated lesson of it never being too late. ❤ To keep each other fully charged, some AAA vocab: Animar, to cheer Alentar, to encourage Apoyar, to support
The male AI English speaking voice sounds a bit like Dexter (TV series) . I just came upon this channel today, and very much enjoyed the video. I think this way of getting familiar with the Spanish sounds and language is very helpful and an excellent idea. In my experience of having lived in Spain for a few years ( 20 years ago)…even tho’ I learnt a good amount of the language and was comfortable with the verb tenses, etc., both written and spoken ……it was still difficult to understand the responses/replies. Listening and understanding what they are saying back to you is very different from being able to write and speak it yourself.
I'd appreciate hearing stories about dining in a restaurant, finding one's way in a foreign city or travelling, especially in Peru or in another in South American country.
I just found your channel and blown away by it. I love Alex. Wow and Wow. I will be spending alot of time here and join up. Thank you for your amazing work.
Muchísimas Gracias 1.Alex decidió comenzar a correr porque quería sentirse más saludable 2. Cuando Alex le contó a su amigo su idea con el maratón, no la apoyó 3.. Estaba agotado pero se sintió muy feliz cuando cruzó l linea de meta.
I am so proud because I just recently started with spanish and I got the sense of the story and understood whole sentences. Having quite a high level in italian probably helped 😊
Hi! 60 is old? Most people that we know are living into their 90's and run or walk distances well into their late 80's and early 90's! We are lucky to have them as examples to show exercising and eating well pay off. That is why this video is great! Hopefully, it gets people moving.
Que inspiracion es esta historia. Si un anciano puede mejorar su cuerpo y salud y volverse como atleta, yo lo puedo hacer tambien. Empieza solamente con el primer paso. Ay.
Thank you so much for this wonderful chanel. These videos are great. I first listen to the Spanish without translation and without subtitles. I transcribe what I hear. In this way I am training my ear. Then I go back and watch the other 2 versions, making corrections to my translation and noting unfamiliar vocabulary. The visuals really help with learning new vocabulary. Thank you again, and many blessings!
I really enjoyed this style, my first time in this channel. Excellent timing and I really liked the 3 versions to help solidify the vocab and meaning. However, this is hardly beginner level; it's more intermediate with all the verb changes as well as the verbs that change letters.
Yep. I've been studying Spanish for about 3 months, which is the only reason why the grammar didn't give me a problem. I hate to think what it would be like for someone with no foundation in Spanish.
@@misspriss2482Wow, you are very successful disciple, it's so good! A little sympathy for those lagging behind - and you would be a very good person....
But notice that at the end the vocabulary didn't list every word encountered, but lots of mostly basic words. A hidden lesson: accept some missed grammar or words. Get what you can.
I’d like to say muchas gracias! Please keep doing what you are doing, you are surely helping a lot of people like me who are studying/learning Spanish. ❤️
This story made me feel good about what i already knew. There were some words here and there that i wasnt familiar with, but it was pretty easy to fill in those blanks. It helped that it wasnt spoken super fast or with a heavy accent. This beats the stories on duolingo. On that app i am getting towards the end of the A2 level. It was nice to see that i am retaining.
Thank you. This was great! I would love to see a educational bitcoin story. About how a couple were nervous about exchanging their dollars to bitcoin, but how they studied bitcoin & HODL’d them 4 years and experienced a full cycle 🔁 Now they have their dream home and their family is happier & wealthier than ever and the whole community became a circular economy like El Salvador. ♥️ En Español ✨
I stumbled upon your channel. I really like your content, because it is great for comprehensible input especially since I am a beginner. I subscribed and I hope that you continue to post more stories. Saludos desde Guyana 🇬🇾
That was awesome!! I’ve been studying Spanish for 2 years I know a lot of words but my sentence construction and conversation is not great… so I don’t speak it as I know it will be all messed up lol.. but this was really enjoyable and towards the end I really had a great comprehension 👍
Me alegro que hayas entendido algo. Yo tambien estoy aprendiendo Frances y poco a poco voy mejorando. Yo estoy inspirado con el metodo llamado " Comprehensive input" y estoy reinspirado en aprender lenguas. Nos vemos.
The three questions seem much higher level than the story itself. Even speaking at a "near native" level I find them a bit challenging. Enjoyed the story. Always good to listen, and learn a few new words and phrases as well. Thanks!
The story is great and inspiring. And it is really useful when the same words are repeated in one story several times. I am a very beginner, and to me it was good indeed. Pictures are beautiful, but not very close to the text. And it was strange that Alex changed his running T-shirt several times during the marathon )
Thank you so much! That's a good story and an excellent idea! You can also ask a question at the end of a story, for us, to guess or discuss in order we could use the vocabulary in our answers. Also, I'd like to hear Christian stories: they are more thought provoking. Just one moment - I didn't like the music here: it's suspenseful. I was expecting something bad was gonna happen to that old man. May be it's just my feeling, I don't know. Thanks again for your work❤❤❤
Just stumbled upon this video & found it very helpful. I had to pause the video a number of times to keep up with repeating the Spanish text. Some words I struggled to pronounce, one of the hardest parts in Spanish I find. On average, how many years does it take to reach A2? I've been studying for over 2 years now & feel it will be another couple of years to obtain A2. Spanish is the hardest thing I've ever tried to learn, obviously I don't have the aptitude for languages
Me gustaría escuchar historias de la vida diaria, especialmente cosas como cortarse el pelo, visitarse con el médico, etc. Mi memoria es muy corto, tengo que repitir, repitir, repitir!
Nunca es tarde Para aprediendo espanol tambien! Great story! Thank you! I don't always get to watch the videos but I'm always listening:-) Question how do you find out what level spanish student you are? A1 a2 b1 c2 etc?
Agreed !!! A lot of videos for beginners seem to be more geared toward the Latin American Spanish. I guess it will depend on where one will be living and why they are learning, to which form will be better for them. Certainly for those living in the USA, the Latin American format will be more appropriate……but for Europeans, the Castellano will be better (in my opinion). 😊😊
This is the perfect way to learn another language, by listening to stories, to music, podcasts and movies..At Global Spanish, we also offer the possibility to practise the language with excellent native teachers from Latin America... :)
