    For a time, I was taking 3,000-5,000 vit D in the evening after supper but found myself repeatedly waking up around 2 am, unable to immediately fall back asleep. Eventually, I connected the two and changed to taking vit D after noon-hour breakfast. Immediately, my sleep improved. Lesson learned: DON'T take vit D in the evening!

      Interesting. I take 5000 IU a day after breakfast (around seven am) but I still wake up at any-time between midnight and three am most nights and don't get back to sleep until the next night. But I'm retired so being awake half the night is not a big problem for me.

      @@ETBrooD I had them checked some months ago. My doctor was alarmed. I was not. There is known kidney damage associated with very high levels of vitamin D, very high being 600,000 IU daily, I'm taking less than 1% of that. I can't get my head around how that much was administered. Where I live the recommended upper limit is 1000 IU so I'm even further in excess of that than the 4000 IU you suggest. Time will tell just how dangerous taking 5000 IU daily will prove to be in my case so if nothing else I'll help to establish just what the safe maximum dose might be. Thank you for your concern.

So that's 50,000 IU's per week. But you must take Vit-K2 with it, along with magnesium. I also take MSM (Sulfur) with it as well. Very good advice. Thank you. I try to keep my 25(OH)D level between 100 and 130 ng/ml. I started this 11 years ago when I was 64 years old. I am 6' 3" and weigh 240 lbs so I need to take more D3 than someone who weighs less, like 150 lbs. I could list about a dozen nagging health problems that just disappeared after I got my D level up, things like fever blisters, ringing in my ears, frequent illness, and low back pain, to name a few. At 75 years old, I am now healthier, physically stronger and mentally sharper than I was when I was 50 years old. I take K2 and magnesium with my higher daily dose of the D3. I think that the recommended daily dose is too low by at least a factor of 10 for people my size and age.

But come, February My digestive or stomach became a nightmare. 4 times rushed to ER, couldn't breath, abdomen pain. They ruled it as GERD but I knew it wasn't. Here I am 2 1/2 months of seeing specialist and no one can seem to find the cause of my issue but I think I narrowed it down to "Inflammation" and from my last blood test, my Vitamin D levels and sodium were critically low! • @seranelson5745
      @seranelson5745 Год назад +8

      Many people are deficient in vitamin D. The best way to find out if you are is to have your primary care doctor include vitamin d level in your blood work ups. ( cholesterol levels, glucose, etc.) mine does. You have to be careful because it’s a fat soluble vitamin so you can definitely take too much and build up a toxic level. If you have lupus, you should avoid immune boosting supplements such as echinacea, garlic, alfalfa, and zinc. These could actually trigger a flare. Fish oil is also really good for overall health and prevention of blood clots.Always wear sunscreen and sun protective clothing, even in cloudy or winter weather, the UV rays still get through. And if you also have Raynaud’s syndrome ( as many people who have lupus do) I have found that high quality gingko biloba extract helps peripheral circulation so your fingers and toes don’t turn purple and white and you don’t find yourself shopping for electric hand warmers. Good luck, I hope your disease stays mild or at least moderate. 30 years ago when I was first diagnosed after miscarrying 5 pregnancies, I was told that I had at most 10 years to live. I was 26.

    Because the daily upper limit of D was established at 4000 IUs I was scared to take more, but I couldn't get my levels much above 40, which is not optimal. Recently I learned that lower d levels can negatively impact sleep, and since that's an ongoing issue for me, I decided to up my dose. I'm now taking a combined total of close to 8000 iu of d3. I intend to lower it to 4000 or 5000 once my levels go up. This video has reinforced that I'm doing the right thing. By the way, I take 300 mcg of k2 (MK7) plus 400 mg of magnesium. These are crucial when taking d3, particularly at high levels so that the D directs calcium to the bones rather than the heart. Dr. Mandell discusses this in another video.

      Who do you believe "established the upper limit of D"? Not so! Each person is individual, and your 25(OH)D or hydroxy vitamin D test level should dictate your dosing. You want your result to be in the upper quintile, 75-95, to ensure your immune system is working at its Optimum best-- you don't want it to be lazy! We need magnesium to activate D3, so take any kind of mag except oxide to accomplish this. Low calcium levels can also have a negative effect, but no need to be concerned unless you are dairy free.

For years I felt sluggish and tiered all of the time except for when I went to a sunny climate for more than a week and there I felt alive and went non stop. I am now sixty four and last year a doctor finally check my vitamin D levels and I was Low. I started taking D3 and am a new person. Big pharma and big Ag are owned by the same mutual funds and same people who are majority shareholders in them (the caball/Illuminati/world central bankers/globalists - whatever you want to cal them, but they are the Rothschilds, Rockefellers, etc) and therefore, work hand in hand to make and keep us sick so they can make as much money as possible. I just started taking magnesium and vitamin D3 again and I’m still taking the 5000 units. I’ve been having a lot headaches and other health issues Dr. Mandell has mentioned in a couple of videos where he talks about low vitamin D3 and magnesium, and I’m glad I watched them because he has encouraged me to start taking these two things again.

    You can have your Vitamin D levels tested through your doctor to see if you have a deficiency. I did that and I did have a deficiency and twice I have had to have a prescription to correct the problem. Then I started taking it on a daily basis. I have been taking 10,000IUs of vitamin D3, gel caps, for over 5 years. A few months ago I had my new doctor recheck my Vitamin D levels in my blood and I am now at 90%. I dropped what I am taking to 5,000IUs. I will have her test it again in 6 months to see if it is maintaining. If not I will raise it back up to 10,000IUs. I recommend that people have their doctors run a blood test and to include the test to check their Vitamin D levels and if they are deficient it is an easy to fix. Thank you for your videos. I always take it before my first meal. Now I will start taking it with my first meal. :)

      @Blue Skies .....So you are saying Vit D is bad?
      Perhaps they were given high doses. Everything in high doses is bad for you. I suppose you can't live with or without vit D. High doses can cause kidney stones in susceptible people. Everything in moderation is the key thing.
      I just went online. The animals were poisoned with Vit D3 causing metastatic calcification, like you said.. But because the doses were quite high. And some people had that too but because they suffered from hyperparathyroidism, which my mum had, which means you are not allowed to take vit D. There is always a reason. Had my mum taken vit D years ago, her hyperparathyroidism would have been prevented as well as her diabetes and cancer perhaps. . Nuns are the most that get this hyperparathyroidism because of lack of vit D or sun exposure.
      I am low on Vit D even though I take a supplement. It can cause all diseases without it. Even fibroids in women they found, which I have many now, and chronic uti infection. Which all of a sudden I have also.

    • @SoniaRossi72
      @SoniaRossi72 3 года назад

      @Blue Skies I will do some researching. I did read though that you need vit D to help absorb calcium in the bones. All I know is my mum's hyperparathyroidism waa caused by lack of vit D. I always thought that we need all vitamins abd minerals, but low standard dosage. Not a lot. But a little of everything. We shouldn't lack anything. I only take 25 u. And yet my level is still low. But I am not taking more than that.
      What do you think about staying in the sun for 15 mins? We shouldn't do that then, because it increases vit D?

      I had a blood test last week, I have very low level of 3. I have purchased tablets, 10,000 IU, I start tomorrow, 3 or 4 in the morning and 2 later in the day. I have been feeling fatigued and sore joints, the heavy legs. I’m very happy I have found out the reason. Had a blood test 3 years ago and Vitamin D was bordering on low, I thought more time outside in the sun would resolve that. I knew something wasn’t right, so happy I had another blood test.

      @@CarolineRingersma EU medical authority recommends max 4,000 IU. The reason for an upper limit is that your kidneys has to synthesize the D3 stuff that take and make it to the right proteins. If your kidneys are overloaded they may collapse. Your afternoon tablets may just be an unnecessary load with little real effect. Do your own research.
