Thanks Bro. I have been trying how to use this maschine for about 9 months now and out of all of the tutorials I have watched this was the most informative. I really appreciated how you not only told us what you were doing but why. That is the most important information you can teach someone. Soo... thanks again.
Now DATS a tutorial.... I learnt more from this video then I did watching a bunch of others on here, and it was all because it was short sweet and straight to the point. Keep it comin!!!!
As someone who just acquired one of these for my Ableton setup; I'm finding myself more and more impressed with what I can do. I have a feeling that Battery is going find less and less use as time goes on. Thanks for this and your other tutorials.
Prolly one of the best production videos, thanks for breaking it down. I don't even own Maschine yet, just want to get my head around it first, then cop it when I have the loot. These videos are gonna help me hit the ground sprinting. Thanks.
I really really like that. I thought you picked a dull drum sample at the beginning, but you make it sound so good. I need to get one of these.. well done, thanks for the vid.
Thank you for keepin it SIMPLE!!! I'm new to Maschine and I must say this vid\tutorial was a huge HELP!!!! I'm diggin the Maschine Studio.... Good lookin out.... Keep doin ya thing!!! I PROMISE I WILL PAY IT FORWARD!!!!
Awesome tutorial, sounded good, and extremely well explained without being tedious. You're a good teacher. Thanks! Don't mind the idiots saying that it sounds like shit, people have nothing better to do with their lives.
Dude - great tutorials! You stay on subject, keep it simple, and are fun to watch. Don't think I'll be finger drumming as well as you anytime soon, but keep up the good work.
you may also sample from vinyl if you have a turntable. just choose your inpur source eg input 1 l+r in sampling mode after you have connected the turntable into your audio interface.
Even though he is using different software and hardware he has a way of explaining so it doesn't matter. I am useing the MPC touch and this info is still relevant.
This is a VERY good tutorial! I was especially pleased to hear the music becomes better if you "...add more crack." (seen at 7:03 ) - All along my music was simply missing crack... THX for the tuta... A++ in my book
Having not used either the Renaissance or the Maschine or Maschine Mikro but having seen the gui and workflow of the software, I'd get a Maschine especially because I have heard many good things about it, it comes with fantastic soundpacks and upgrades, has great effects and gives you NI Massive along with it. The hardware is quality and NI is programming state of the art industry standard software while Akai seems to have missed the turnaround and relied on it's brand name for too long.
Peace! Thanks for that tutorial. I just upgrade my studio but was worried because I normally use an MPC which I love but wanted to aide some variety to the repitoir. Question is that a midi controller or a keyword in the video he using?
man, you make look sooo easy, is your dinky little Akai keyboard plugged into the Maschine, or into the computer, I have an MPK49 how would the pads, faders etc work with Mashine, does it cause issues ?? Thanks :)
your helping me alot bro thank you! ive had mikro a week now and i love it. one question, i want to hook up speakers to my comp, im going to get that same akai i believe it is? how do you get your sound? do i need just an audio interface and powered spekakers, just powered speakers?
@tasherredenajetic I get you. But i think what dubspot is trying to showcase is how the artist uses the products in their everyday workflow. What we can take out of it is just an adjustment to our own workflow. We might already know all this stuff, but we also always want to do things easier, faster, and comfortably.
This was a pretty good tutorial tho. He actually goes into every detail of what hes doing unlike other tutorials where the dont even mention little things like choke and cutting samples of etc. just an example, but thank you.
I've been DJ'ing using Traktor Pro 2 for a while now. Using the S4 and F1, but I've been looking for a hardware to write my own music, and do some remixes. Would you recommend the Maschine? The genre I play is Trance.
awesome vid^^ but what kind of soundcard do you use? could you hook up a turntable and a mixer to the soundcard to record samples and scratches for beats? thanks! Greetings from Switzerland
@mrinvisiblehiphop thx, i made a track now without any quantization and red that many of hiphop beatmakers dont use any .. so i'm really wondered how nice it sounds now.. maybe the reason was because i started this whole "thing" making techno/minimal beats where i guess you have to quantize? at least the instruments and the bassline
I have the exact setup as this tutorial. Akai keyboard, Maschine, but a NI audio interface and a MacBook Pro. Buying traktor s4. Being the MacBook Pro has only 2 USB ports, have you noticed any degradation of quality or sound with using a USB hub?
How does the machine compare to the arturia spark? And what (old-school electronic) drumkits does the machine have? The Spark had 808 and 909 samples(awesome), what can i expect here?
its a lot easier if you just chose the sound, press shift and pad mode. that will split the sound over the 16 pads, each will be in a different pitch by holding down pad mode you can chose the key of the pads also.
@DubSpot i have a question: how can i link my keyboard to the maschine so that the instruments i record are recorded in the maschine sequencer?? please answer. p.s. sorry for my bad english.
Native Instruments should hire you and pay you lots!! I learned more from this one video than I did from 5 of theirs. Good job and thank you!!

I really appreciated how you not only told us what you were doing but why. That is the most important information you can teach someone. Soo... thanks again.
Justin is a really good dude. He's helped me on numerous occasions, and has always gave the best advice!
Now DATS a tutorial.... I learnt more from this video then I did watching a bunch of others on here, and it was all because it was short sweet and straight to the point. Keep it comin!!!!

Cool man! This is a very good way to make a beat with Mashine Mk2. Thanks!
you may also sample from vinyl if you have a turntable. just choose your inpur source eg input 1 l+r in sampling mode after you have connected the turntable into your audio interface.
Great video, learned so much!! Good to see a Charlotte Native representing on here!!! I'm also in the QC.

Wicked!you make it look so easy!
He kills it, musically and comically!
part 2 or 3 available? doesnt look like it. Looking forward to it.
Even though he is using different software and hardware he has a way of explaining so it doesn't matter. I am useing the MPC touch and this info is still relevant.

"I almost started rapping" Lol that part cracked me up.
Hey Adam, Sick sick... sick... Hey man, what is the brand / model keyboard are you using ?

u are awsome broth , i need to know how much RAM you use on your computer and also is that a macbook pro?
Peace! Thanks for that tutorial. I just upgrade my studio but was worried because I normally use an MPC which I love but wanted to aide some variety to the repitoir. Question is that a midi controller or a keyword in the video he using?

I'm going to Charlotte next week! Are y'all performing at all????
man, you make look sooo easy, is your dinky little Akai keyboard plugged into the Maschine, or into the computer, I have an MPK49 how would the pads, faders etc work with Mashine, does it cause issues ??
Thanks :)
you can set the metronome volume with shift + play + turning the volume knob
your helping me alot bro thank you! ive had mikro a week now and i love it. one question, i want to hook up speakers to my comp, im going to get that same akai i believe it is? how do you get your sound? do i need just an audio interface and powered spekakers, just powered speakers?

Hahaa dope tutorial dude! Your character makes it fun to learn maschine 💯💯

Browse to the wav file and assign it to the pad. Or go to sample mode when sampling from your audio interface.
How does the machine compare to the arturia spark? And what (old-school electronic) drumkits does the machine have? The Spark had 808 and 909 samples(awesome), what can i expect here?
thanks for the lesson, very informative and FUN! i guess aswell rocks!

awesome tutorial man. Much appreciated!
its a lot easier if you just chose the sound, press shift and pad mode. that will split the sound over the 16 pads, each will be in a different pitch

Very COOL...a real eye opener.
