I'm in Stathead looking at Trout's career stats compared to Mantle through 1961 because their Games, ABs, and PAs are comparable. They're basically the same player. Mantle has a little more of this, Trout has a little more of that, but the comparison matches my eye test. Trout's narrative actually reminds me of Dave Winfield. Super athletic, super talented baseball player, but whose signature playoff moment was a bunch of bad ABs against the Dodgers in the 1981 WS. 1 for 23, I believe. The Yankees never went back to the Series and fans held that against Winfield. Unlike A-Rod, Winfield was a likable guy-maybe too likable-and his ultimate sin was that he was no Reggie. But, that WS no show was held against him for the rest of his career, even though intellectually everyone knew he was a great player and likely Hall of Famer.
@LockedOnMLB Thanks for the correction. I thought for sure he was hitless in the post season, but you're right. .083 average in 3 career post season games to date though. Extremely small sample size I know.
@@nicolasstaudt5714Small? It’s microscopic. So one bad 3-game series with 12 at bats against the eventual AL champs trumps 3 MVPs, 3x runner up MVP, 11 AS selections, and 173 career OPS+?
The Mike Trout comments by whoever, were stupid, but, i know something thats beyond Stoooopid. Im a Brit, live in England and have no affilliation to any City in your Great country and Baseball isn't that big a deal over here ( English people love dull sports like Soccer 🥱 ). With all that in mind, i chose The Reds as my team, because im a Bengals fan of 39 years. 2 small market teams with small wallets and tight fisted owners 😡 Go figure the stupidity in my choices 🤷♂️😂 p.s your pizza comments were offensive for reasons i cant fathom, but i need the attention right now. Great show once again. Keep it up Sully👏
Thoughtful comments-thanks!
Very good job Sully. Your best video so far.

They'll say you can't be the greatest player of your generation without having a hit in the post season. Ever.
@@nicolasstaudt5714 he has a postseason homer

Trout is a great player. But has only played 140+ games 5 times with the last being 2018. He's the Jacob deGrom of hitting.
Jacob Deron is the Mike Trout of pitching (Mike trout was the OG)
