Happy New Year Milly!!! The late 1970's saw the explosion of the Punk music scene. The Clash were one of those bands. I think you noticed the song was not very polished, which was exactly the point. With Disco ruling the day back then, Punk rock was the antithesis to the dancing, glamour and posing disco represented. Believe it or not, this was one of the Clash's most commercially successful songs. For us ''Rockers' back then, The Clash and the Sex Pistols were quite refreshing after being smothered with Disco for a couple of years. Great seeing you again Luv. Your pal, RNB
