Mick is impressive. My dad’s in his 80s and as they say “if you don’t use it, you loose it!” He sits and reads and that brings him joy. Mick just keeps on keeping on. Crack on ❤
Work keeps him young. More power to him! I'm 87 years old so I know how much this means to him to keep on going and pass on his knowledge to the younger ones.
I have found that the old adage of “use it or lose it” to be true in all areas of life! It warms my heart to watch all of you working together as an extended family. Every one respects one another, especially Mick. It’s so great to NEVER hear, “let me do that for you.” To me that shows the greatest respect! ❤
I’m impressed that your Dad can kneel and rise so easily. I’m only 65 and whenever I get down on my knees, I pray that I’ll be able to get back up again!
My dad who would have turned 79 this year, he passed suddenly at only 37 years of age. ( suffocated at home from a throat infection..) Seeing Mick working like a 50 year old man and showering you all with knowledge and kindness really brings tears too my eyes❤ You are so lucky to have him! My dad was a sandblaster and a painter. He also was one of the founders of a paint production company /factory in the 70s. Before that he worked as a sandblaster and painter on oil rigs being made to go out to the North Sea . The last few year he worked as a sales man , traveling all over Norway selling different paint and epoxy , which was a relatively new product then. I was so lucky to be able to go with him on several trips around the country selling products . I drank up all the information and still know more about paint, that most people , who don’t work in the industry. He was also an artist and did oil paintings. I also got to go with him to galleries and vernissages, where he exhibited his paintings . I have so many amazing memories from the 9 years I had with him. I hope Micks 80s birthday party will be the best ever, he definitely deserves it. He is a LEGEND❤❤❤
So sorry to hear you lost your father at such a young age. My mum died when I was 27, 20 years ago, a year before my daughter was born. I enjoy teaching my daughter all the life lessons my mother taught me.
I’m so sorry to hear that you lost your dad so long ago. But I have to say for the time you had with him, you seem to have quite a lot of wonderful memories together. A lot of people have so very few. Your father is still with you every day. I truly believe that myself. Every time you start to remember a time, I am sure he is right along with you with a smile. Light and love being sent your way. ❤️🙏🏻❤️ Hope you have a wonderful day. Do take care. Cheers! 😊❤️❤️🇨🇦
Would be lovely to have a plaque of the names who helped/worked on this project when it's finished. Especially showing their age, to show what a true trooper your Dad is 🥰
I am so impressed with Mick, since I am approaching my 80th birthday in 2025 he is inspiring! Everyone is doing an outstanding job under your guidance Billy. You are a born leader of the highest calibre. 🙏❤️
Mick is amazing in his strength, work ethic and knowledge ❤. What a remarkable man !!!! I can’t imagine how much planning has gone into every project !! Billy , I admire your dedication to restoring the convent and adding another level of beauty ❤.
Great to see Mick putting his touches on the convent. He appears as excited to watch the progress just as we all are! Billy, you are the bond that holds it all together. A tough but necessary step. You carefully explain to your ‘crew’ as well as viewers why things get done the way they do. Looking forward to the next move as well🤗👏🏻👏🏻
Watching your dad work his craft, which he is clearly a master of his profession is inspiring. Watching Yannis, who truly enjoys soaking up as much knowledge as he can is equally inspiring. Rick is amazing person who will take on any project you ask of him. Hell of an amazing team you have there.
Seeing all of the fellas at work supervised by Rick, and your dad teaching Yanis a new skill is amazing. Continued success on the project. Looking forward to everyday.
I can’t imagine how you are going to fill a library as big as this one. Excited to see the final look. It should have everything including the card catalogue cases to look up your book 📚 interest. I am 60 yrs old. This project is so special because I was a law librarian in the 80s and had to transition to computers… I liked my old school better. How many subjects and knowledge is going to be available here. The Chapel excited me and now this project! Wow and thank you 🙏
Mick is just a complete legend. An inspiration to keep on going. Just can’t believe he’s nearly 80. He puts people 20 years younger than him to shame. Fantastic job lads. X
Your dad is amazing. Love his energy, knowledge, demeanour and steadfastness of his work. Well done to Yannis. Your English is coming along SO well. Thanks Billy for your knowledge and commentary. ❤️ from South Aftica.
It’s got to be incredibly satisfying to get this far with an incredible team!! Such a pleasure to watch Yanice developing in confidence and skills. Your knowledge and experience is really shining on this project, Billy. Keep crackin’ on everyone!
AWE Billy that Beautiful Place will endure and have remnants and prints of YANIS, YOUR SWEET PAPA, RICK, MICHAEL, BEAUTIFUL GWENDOLYN AND YOUR BOYS TOO AS WELL as everyone else who has helped fix it along the way. Lovely Dear!💕💕💕💕💕
I don't know what Yannis's back story is, but this I do know, mentoring by Simon and your Papa can teach everyone what apprenticeships mean to building skill sets. Yannis is being guided by such kindness and integrity to craftmanship. Rick's dry humor is a pure joy.
Another talent in Yanis’s pocket….and he couldn’t ask for a better tutor! Wonderful! Be careful tomorrow moving that other beam. The tools you bought for the job, Billy, are a godsend! 💕🌷🐻
Billy, the only project that seemed mad was the library. Seeing the rooms demo'd, & the floors & ceilings gone, is astounding. Now that the beams are going in -- wow. What a great team!!!!
Fantastic work guys, what a team 👏Can I just say how much I love your music choices Billy, they add such atmosphere to your videos 👍 Mick is just amazing 😁
Billy,Mic,Yanis, Rick my convent Angels. The music is fantastic. I love it. The beams are quite heavy and need to be placed with a lot of caution and support. You guys are doing a great job. Until tomorrow. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🍺🍺❤️🇺🇸🌞🌹🕊👍🙏😇🌈
Your dad reminds me of my dad. He was an incredibly hard worker all his life. He was a machinist by trade, but his father was a carpenter/painter/drywaller. He could lay bricks, blocks, build anything, paint, hang drywall. He coached baseball, was in charge of the local ball field and was a scout leader. He pushed mowed his almost acre lot into his 80s. He was diagnosed with Lou Gherig’s disease at 89 and passed 4 months later at age 90.
I understand why this gave you a bit of anxiety! If you mess this part up, disaster! Can’t wait to see it. Please ask Michael to keep us updated on the Chateau. It’s tough, when we are at the Chateau, I miss the convent; when we’re at the Convent, I miss the Chateau.
I second this! Maybe Michael can do short videos with his phone and upload them as shorts on the channel. That would be an easy way to post something without doing a lot of editing, maybe?
@@lindsayjeanae Michael is such a perfectionist. I really wished he knew how much we care about him and all his knowledge and craftsmanship . We just want to see his pretty face a bit of what’s going on. As you said, all we need is a few unedited clips . But sadly I think he’s an all in or nothing person , setting far to high expectations and standards for himself😔
I just love seeing your dad Mick work. He makes it look very easy as experts often do. Remember when he fixed a pothole you found at the chateau. Seeing him work those bricks there made me think I could watch him work all day 😊 I’ve had the greatest respect for him since then. You had been saying he had experience, but seeing how elegant his moves were made me understand how much. You simply can’t get there without years of doing it. So a shoutout to Mick 🎉
Yannis learning yet another trade, from your dad. How awesome is that. I honestly thought that moving those beams would be more intensive but you all made it look so easy.
Fascinating work. Thanks for the opportunity to watch it all come together. I am curious about one thing though. Why aren't you cutting out the old pipe work? It seems to be in your way sometimes. Do you expect the old piping to serve some purpose down the road?
Removing that wood beam should be fun too. Hopefully there is enough solid parts to reuse for other projects or fireplace mantles. Be neat to have a statue or carving out of the broke bits for the chapel
@lynneburns4303 You need to go and follow Sadie’s channel, Sherri often pops in there. These last weeks she’s been working with Sadie decorating at the chateau and giving advice on Sadie’s kitchen at the convent apartment 😀
Enjoying the Library renovation, reading all the lovely compliments about your Dad and his recent "roundy" 80 th year and his lived experience and knowledge is an incredible asset. I am smiling at the fact that your Dad's ability attitude at his age is admired so much BUT his father and mother are also alive and well too 5 generations of the Petterwicks how wonderful is that.
How exciting watching this happen. One more step done and more progress is being made. Didn't realize that the dining room would be next to the library but it makes sense. Love watching this convent renovation and seeing how you are preserving this building. Have a wonderful day
It is a bold and brave thing you are doing there with those giant beams. How wonderful it is going so well and smoothly. That's all down to your excellent planning, skill and expertise. It is delightful to see Yanis continue to enthusiastically learn more and more skills.
Mick you are amazing thank you for passing your knowledge on to Yannis. Yannis is like a sponge always ready to soak up more. Rick your smile is infectious you always work with joy and a kind word a twinkle in your eye. Billy what a legacy you are creating.
