      It's too bad...
Mr. Kennedy has a great mind...
      A true statesman....
However, IMHO, I just don't think they want such common sense....
      He's too clear minded...
At least he's an anchor in the Senate...
A man from whom there is much to learn...
      Thank you, Mr. Kennedy...

Agreed, the rest should left up to the states. All tax
Moet should go to the states & distributed from there. No more giving federal government control of all the money. If it’s by state it would be much easier for accountability.

They take people's rent so that they can create a situation of I owe my soul to The Company Store in this case the largest landowner in the area so that when the landowner is overtaxed and overburdened by repairs they give up and sell the property cheap to big real estate holders who is in conspiracy with the county that they are in as far as I'm concerned it's up to the property owner to determine what they want for rent to a person and if it's too high they won't rent it out and if it's too low they will soon lose their rental property for lack of funding

As a matter of principle, an employer shouldn’t have to make any accommodation at all with respect to an employee’s religious practices. Throughout history, people of virtually every religion in existence have had to endure hardships, serious hardships, in order to remain faithful to their religious precepts. The burden of their faith is theirs. Now suddenly, the burden has not disappeared, but has been shifted to someone whose faith it not necessarily even is. The religious practitioner has suddenly had any burden removed to be borne by someone else, someone whose personal religious burden he must also bear. This is unjust.
Rights, by their nature, cannot burden another person. Any right that you claim that burdens another person implies ultimately that there is a right to hold slaves, for enslavement is the ultimate burden. No one has the right to take away from another person, even to a small degree, and shifting the burden of your religious practice from yourself to your employer takes away from your employer. This is not a moral position. Therefore, immoral legalities aside, an employer should not have to make accommodations for religious practices that he himself doesn’t share.
As far as the question of whether a nominee would follow Dred Scott is concerned, what we see in the answer and in the presupposition underlying the question is a type of modern virtue signaling. It’s something known as whiggishness, which is the myopic imposition of current mores on the people of a previous time whose mores have become outmoded, even repugnant. The most honest answer a nominee could give to that question, in my view, is something along the lines of, “If I had been a judge at the time of Dred Scott, I would have been a man of my time. I would not have had the historical insight we have today. The benefits of a more developed national morality would not have been available to me. I would not have had the clarity that retrospection affords us today. It is easy to say, from the comfort of 2023, that I would have opposed the decision and may even have resigned rather than follow it, as following it would have been obligatory, it being the law of the land, but the fact is that if I had been a Republican in the north, I likely would have reviled it and been loath to follow it, but if I had been a Democrat in the south I likely would have agreed with and supported it. Either way, I would have been a man of my time, just as you and I are men of our time, Senator, and unable to know how our personal mores may offend those of the twenty-third century.”

Senator Kennedy you should be Donald Trump's VP. Then president in 2028. You always support the people and the constitution. And your knowledge, common sense, strength are things that we look for in a president or any governmental office for that matter. Something the democrats are clearly lacking in many positions. Not all, but many.

Why throw more taxes on the people that work too hard and too long to pay more taxes to a government that has grossly mismanaged the money they have already taken. What’s wrong with people that can’t afford to live in housing they can’t afford move to an area they can afford? Or maybe close our southern border and deport the illegal aliens here. That money could go a long way toward helping housing and living be more affordable for American citizens.
