I’m not sure if this was the intention, but the stand looks like the optic nerve that comes out of the back of the eye. If so, nerves are most commonly colour coded as yellow in anatomy textbooks. Amazing piece, and so impressive to make the stand this way!!!
Andy, I love your work! May I make one suggestion about this design? For added realism you should leave the iris and pupil flat inside the sphere, capped with a clear resin dome. It will make the eye look more realistic when seen from a slight angle and is more biologically accurate. :)
Let me preface I haven't done this. I don't have the tools to do this, but if I did do this then I agree with the above comment. Also irises are generally quite uniform and not random (as someone who used to draw eyes all the time). And thirdly I found the entire veins to be counter productive at the start you just removed them it seems much better to add them later or just a injection method (inserting color on a needle and dragging it out)
In terms of practicality, this would work best, but should someone find an effective way to do it, irises are actually slightly concave, which is why you get the eye shine on the opposite side of the iris from the light source and still have the pronounced shadow on the other side. An eye's shape looks kind of like a slightly deflated ball, but is rounded out by the lens. This concave nature is much easier in 3d modelling and sketches than it is in resin casting, but I think it would be an interesting effect. Again, one would need to find a practical way to do it, but the flat iris with a dome should work just as well, it's just that the gradient on it from lighting won't be as high contrast.
Eye see what ya did there, you are a good pupil with a visionary sense of vitreous humor, even Iris laughed at you being jocular about the ocular. Vive le Derp!
I love that!! The creepy little stand and the jump scare at the end though. Man. I wonder if you could make these into hidden/not so hidden cameras so an actual eyeball would follow you around the room as you moved. That would be super creepy. The way that people get creeped out by dolls eyes makes me think this would be on a whole other level
I love how you already know what the shape of the wood needs to be to get to the end result. At first I wondered why you chose such a n oddly shaped piece and now I know why. Fantastic result
OK, that last bit really got me. I did physically jump. Well done! I'm always amazed with what people can do with resin. If I hadn't seen it made, I would have assumed it was glass. 💙

hi Andy from Canada, I "see" where you were going with this project, nicely done, loved the stand, how unique, "one look" & you can "see" you are a master of your craft
I would love to see a behind the scenes kind of thing where we see the thought process and stuff you do to create the masterpieces that you made. Also I have no idea how many tries it took to get the eyeball just right.
very cool project...might have to give this a try to have one to sit on my desk...figure it would be a cool accessory considering I take photographs of the internal eye all day!👀👀👀
What a cool idea. I liked how all of a sudden it looked at us at the end lol. Very cool buddy. Now you gotta do a hazel, brown and other color eyes lol. 👀
I don’t know if you did it on purpose or not, but it looks like that eyeball has a macula lutea, on top of the blood vessels being in the right part of the eye. The iris almost looks like it’s got the radial muscle, it’s perfectly proportioned, and the stand comes with a built-in optic nerve. Seriously, I pulled out my body systems textbook and checked, and that eyeball is almost perfectly anatomically accurate. You are quite the artist!
Let’s vote: Is Andy Phillip a genius? The “eyes” have it! He is.
Teeheehee.... Eye see what you did there!
