The cars at the Honda dealer are under cover to prevent hail damage. A lot of dealers in Calgary have them. A few years ago Calgary had a bad hail storm and damaged a lot of cars.
No show is ever too small. Love to see the pride some of these drivers have in the care of these trucks - they are beautiful.
Right ? I agree with you 💯 percent.
That's so awesome....I just saw me and my boys on your vlog, we were walking around those two beautiful Pete's at the show. Sweet!!
Wow, that' a really nice color on that first rig, Aqua & White
Here in Fort Worth Texas all of the new car dealerships have the cars covered. It protects them from hail damage.
I could be wrong, but I believe the main reason why that dealership has all the cars under cover is so they don't get hail damaged. Calgary is known for they're golfball sized hail, sometimes baseball sized. Safe trucking!
If you could afford that Brand New 589 just as a show truck, you're more than financially able to hire a person to keep it clean. As for the cabover, I was thinking 1985, only because Kurt Schmidt "Trucking with Schmidt" recently pointed out a cab over and mentioned it was mid 80's. I started driving legally in 1979, seeing a cab over in Ottawa was rare, the vast majority had a nose. So I was kind of surprised to learn they were still producing cab overs through the mid 80's.
Yo Josh, I stopped at a Subway at the Flyin J in Tilbury, Ontario. For one Italian Sub $13.50 plus tax lol. Not cheap anymore, but thanks to you I'm hooked on the bean to cup coffee. Be safe and drive Ole Blue like you own her.
Love the 589s
Josh, Thanks for the tour of the small truck show at McMann Stadium Parking Lot. It was really a Truck Driver Recruiting Expo.
I was close I was guessing 1986, if you've never drove one there's on room, no comfort, and no ride.
Why is nobody hanging out at the police booth 😆
I hauled a crane boom way back when, just a single boom from S.C. to Denver only 5,000#. I see they have figured out how load more than just a single boom section.
Stay safe
Hi Trucker Josh nice day and veiw that you had for your Calgary Expo for the Company that your working for glad you had a chance to meet a lot of people and have fun have a great rest of your weekend stay safe on the road and god bless 🙏😊
Josh, if possible, could you someday make a video of how the logbook works in Canada? 🍁 Thanks, bro.
Yeah , good request.
So happy you met some of your fans❤
I believe that hail damage is a problem for those new cars
Hi Bro. The purple peterbilt was stunning. For calgary being the rodeo capital of canada I didnt see many cowboys but plenty of indians lol
Wow, Josh! I said 1985! Almost. Nice trucks.
Hope you had an awesome time and I hope you found lots of drivers
Those covers are to protect them from hail.
Come on July 5 that is when Stampede starts, and that is when the country music starts, anyway welcome to Calgary and I hope you enjoyed yourself, Be safe on the roads. I have a new admiration for the long haul drivers, we were on the road to Edmonton, and We still don't have water soon I love your vlogs thanks again The cars are undercover because of the hail storms we have, it protects the cars
The expo looked like a good time I thought the cab over was a 79
HELLO JOSH MAN THEM TRUCKS ARE GORGEOUS WOW !!! BEAUTIFUL DAY !!
PURLE PETE WAS MY FAVORITE DANG THAT TRUCK IS GORGEOUS ✊✊
the 1987 Cab over the I know the owner of that Truck and that was is Drag Racing Truck that was in the Trailer and plus I got to Ride in his Drag Racing Semi years ago in Mission Raceway Here in Mission B.C
Great video, Josh. 🎉
Those covers aint to protect from the sun and snow its for hail i bet cause if u can see the car the sun can hit it same with snow unless its made of glass snow and stuff can go under anything even a garage door so thats y i think those r to protect the rigs from hail sometimes alberta gets hail storms i heard anyways i never seen it tho but i know ppl who live up there
I drove down to the Expo and was quite disappointed, not a single business was hiring new class 1 drivers.
There is supposedly a shortage of truck drivers in Alberta yet not one company is hiring people new to the industry even if they have a clean 10 year drivers abstract.
$9600.00 and 3 months of CDL school to get licensed for what?
Been licensed since February sending out resumes and applications daily, not one bite anywhere. How do we expect to keep the industry going with no new supply of drivers?
Good video either way.
That sucks. Congratulations on your accompaniment of getting your CDL. I sure hope you find a good company and they find you. Take care
I'm shocked to hear this. I thought truck drivers are in high demand everywhere ( all types)
@@SamuelManaole I thought so too. In the US , it seems the majority of truck companies are always hiring but then you hear from employed truck drivers that freight rates are terrible and they are barely making it. I don't understand the game , perhaps trucking companies are looking for the newer drivers that they can exploit with lower mileage rates. CPM. It seems as if no one can or will provide a clear answer.
@SamuelManaole, @Jorgeola757
Truck drivers are in high demand everywhere yes.
Unfortunately here in Alberta the Commercial insurance to insure new class 1 drivers makes it prohibitively expensive to hire new CDL drivers, at least this is what I have been given as an explanation from companies.
That being said, if you are fresh off the boat from India you will have an easy time getting work as the Canadian government will cover the cost of up to 70% of the wages through a program called LMIA
(Labour Market Impact Assessment)
So if you are Canadian born and raised chances of getting work as a new driver in Alberta are extremely minimal, as there are no incentives to hire someone who will cost so much to insure and not provide the company with a wage subsidy cheque from the federal government.
Hey Josh Safe travels-Robert J OKC
Here in Texas a lot of the big new car dealers have their cars under those types of covers. I always assumed it was for the hail we get every so often.
Probably a little to do with Insurance premiums and acts of god too.
And from what I’ve heard the water is still shut off in Calgary
Hi josh is Andy came to this show or not I know him from long time he is v nice and humble gye
Like most... I was guessing 1985. Small expo but still good.
weren't you looking at a cab over around Covid time ? ( mid-late 2020)
As far as the new 589.. It's looking good, but you know..
Not the same.
No hail damage either
So how long would it take to clean the 589?.
Hi josh is it a kenworth k200
I would say the trucks late 80s
There are many different smells that smell like money to different people. I run a honey wagon, that smells like money to me.
❤
That red 87 Cabover was sweet. The torquise 589 definitely looked like a show truck. Hate Country Music. Is so predictable. See ya
