statistically you could get 12.5k shinies in 50k encounters using the cute charm method in the gen 4 pokemon games, at full odds (1/8192) statistically you would get 6 shinies, at new full odds (1/4096) you would get 12, at masuda no charm (black2/white2) you would get 36, with charm (in black2/white 2) you would get 48, masuda without charm (gen 6 onwards) you would get 18, with charm you would get 24 and chain fishing it would be much more complicated to calculate because the odds are different depending on how long your chain is, with SOS it varies depending on if you're playing pokemon SUN/MOON or pokemon ULTRA SUN/ULTRA MOON, in pokemon sun and moon your odds reset after i believe 253 encounters, and only get to maximum odds after 73, whereas in pokemon ultra sun and ultra moon the odds max out after 31 encounters and stay there until you leave the battle
I caught 4 shinies on black 2 2 of them were traded a Aron and a minchinno the other 2 were kept a female Tranquill that I evolved and a rustling grass clefable
