They ride camels to work, wear sandals on a dirt floor, and probably couldn't use a computer if they had one. And yet they still turn out very nice work using machinery that we would have scrapped decades ago. I can't say enough good about their work.

Чего-то я не понимаю. На карусельке вертели, там несоосность диаметров была в 3-5 мм. На зуборезный поставили, выставляли только по наружнему диаметру. А отверстие - как получится? Ну и второй венец резали, мучались с разметкой... А почему нельзя фрезу повернуть на зеркальный угол, не снимая заготовки с отправки?

The lathe has built in scales on the cranks, allowing the positioning of the cutters down to 1/100 of a millimetre. Why are they not using them and instead use rulers and chalk marks, which at amaximum allow for an accuracy of a few millimeters?
at 17 i worked at a machine shop, bluffed my age , learned a micrometer usage at library and got the job,made brake caliper cylinders for 747, back in the day, learned lots, 4th opertion ,that was for the summer only tho... still would like to learn a lath operation...you can make anything with one.

@@friedmule5403 , При чем сдесь Women?? 😄. Станки старые, и у всех шаговые винты изношены или поменены на сырые. А главная причина, надо постоянно выводить инструмент, чтоб избавился от стружки. Которой некуда выходить. По тому что сверло меньше! По длинне чем деталь. И на токарном надо часто выводить. А это долго и есть вероятность сломать сверло, случайно врезавшись в деталь, если подъезжать на ускоренной подаче. На сверлильном это быстрее.

my sincerest pity for these good people that have no choice but to labor in the most primitive of conditions risking life and limb, producing 3rd rate "parts" that won't hold up over time due to the lack of precision and cut-rate material . . . i doubt if the O.D. is concentric within .030" to ANY of the minor OD's, and the one positive thing about the surface finish is that it will retain lots of oil with all those pockmarks
why was it necessary to align the part on the outside, if the hole is important... it was necessary to set the runout to 0 along the hole, and then sharpen the outer diameter. it would have worked out exactly. + the workpiece is pulled out of the chuck, it is too big + cutting modes of 10mm per side...
Those machines are old an in desperate need of s dull rebuild if not a replacement. You can do accurate work with substandard machines. Just look at the cutting inserts? If yiu can still call them that. And the block of steel? To make a piece like that takes specialised steel from a professional steel mill not a glorified hobby/backyard business. I highly doubt the steel is even fit doe purpose and probably would have a lot of imperfections from what they put in it. Cutting gears is an art form and tolerances have to be precise. But I'm going to say that what comes out of that factory is anything but precise. I'd you want to see how gears are made properly just look up the videos on here

I see no evidence of runout. I.D. and O.D. were produced on same setup, O.D. was indicated in on the hobber. Where would runout be introduced?
