Mark lived one block over from us. He was a class ahead of me. He wouldn't trade any of his toys. He had this cool toy airplane I wanted but he wouldn't trade.
Good stuff. The VE boys, and family as a whole, definitely had some very interesting(and very difficult) times over the years. Marc nailed the boys’ differing personalities perfectly.
Kevin stated in an interview that he went barefoot to the ring because someone hid his boots. It's incredibly tragic what happened to Kerry, Chris and Mike. Suicide is something that only leaves questions without answers.
They were ALL very kind. I was lucky enough to meet both Kevin and Kerry in Austin, TX when I was 12. I could barely speak, I was so starstruck! Lol They took time to sign autographs and chat with fans that waited outside after their matches. Once, a security guard shoved me and my friend out of the way and Kevin told him, "Don't ever put your hands on them like that. That is not OK!" I had an even BIGGER crush on Kevin after that. I hope he is doing well and living a happy, peaceful life.
We were going out partying one Saturday night and we were in a car rolling a number and we stopped at a traffic light on Camp Bowie Blvd in Fort Worth and there next to us was Marc in a brand new Cadillac Eldorado all by himself.
David seems to be getting lost in all this Von Erich lore from younger fans who were either way too young during the peak World Class era or not even born yet. I keep hearing they "don't get it", why he was so popular or why he was the clear choice of the brothers to be the NWA World Champion over his movie star good looking younger brother & high flying acrobatic older brother. What they don't "get" is what David lacked in looks & athletics he more than made up for it by being the most complete PROFESSIONAL wrestler of the brothers. Kerry & Kevin were hitting the drugs pretty hard then & were notorious for missing events that weren't major cards. The NWA saw David as the real pro who was clearly the best one of them on the mic. David was just as over with the fans as Kerry & Kevin, he was the heart of the entire promotion. Just look at the reaction when he died, his funeral was treated as one of a head of state. If he lived & beat Flair for the belt who knows how long that territory survives. It sure as hell doesn't fold by 1988 like it ended up doing when they were re-branded the USWA.
Kevin was not lazy. he did miss place his boots for a show in hawaii. then fond them and wore them for awhile after that. Until he decided it was more comfortable for him to be bare foot because of the weight they put his sensitive knees. he does were shoes when heed needs too. sometimes its just not appropriate not have shoes on and to protect your feet. Combined with the fact he has always bene king of barefoot ness. When he was growing up and now.
You know, i don't understand how (at @2:30 and on) it was said that Kerry Von Erich had no one that loved him and help him with life decisions yet he had a wife. I'm sure she loved him and she was with him during his drug years so does anyone know something I don't?
I think what Marc meant was that Fritz should have been more involved with helping his son get clean, and that the business should never come before family. I mean, not saying Fritz didn't love Kerry, but should have tried to get him.help with drugs.
How do you know what his Wife felt for him . I mean if you listen to Kevin he says they pushed Each other and Treated each other Wrong when they were Married
I think he meant when Kerry was younger and still growing into being a man. That's when you need the most guidance from respectable people who have your best interests at heart and want to guide you down the right path in life.
All accounts say otherwise. Apparently Kerry became Fritz' favorite after the death of their oldest brother and Kevin was a close second. David was described to be the most similar to Fritz including their tempers which is likely why they didn't get along very well.
Movie star good looks & physique aside, what really drew people to Kerry was his boyish charm. After his death his lawyer described him as a 14 year old boy who never grew up. He didn't mean that in a negative way either, he was absolutely crushed that Kerry decided to take his own life.
@@arlopear7136 I am sure he was. Just because he was immature, didn't mean he was a bad person. It makes you wonder if he had some developmental issues.
@@justafan5598 From what Kevin said Growing up in the Country they always walked around without Clothes . Maybe Kerry was more Comfortable that way . I mean to each there own
Mr. Lowrance is so entertaining. Really loved his unique style.
Marc looks great. So good to see him again
Mark exhibiting more of the Texas drawl than he did when he was announcing. Love it.
Wasnt he the one that went on to be a preacher
Mark was a huge part of WCCW. He'd be so funny at times. That voice of WCCW. Best to him!
Use to love to hear Marc Lowrence announce the matches on WCCW. Such a professional voice and manner of speaking.

We still miss them
Loved those days and the way Mark did it.

That’s my old pastor 😂 miss him
Is he still a minister in Dallas, Texas?? If not where.
Mark kept his connections with wrestling even after becoming a minister.
Marc knows more psychology in Wrestling than both AEW and WWE
Why was this comment necessary to you?
Mark Lowrance!

Amen!
If it leaves the NWA it gone
@chrischar9428 the NWA was almost gone by that point.
I haven’t seen Marc in years.
Von Erich Freebirds was a great feud.
I like that Mean Gene shirt
Forget this stuff. We want to hear him talk about Eric Embry. We want to hear his memories of that legendary Eric Embry vs, P.Y. Chu-Hi watch.
So ask him

Hello Devin, Hope you and Baby Piper are doing good!
Kevin is nuts. Kerry was not too bright. Not ripping on them that's what other wrestlers have said.
Dutch said Kevin was dumb as a rock. 🤷♂️
He's aged about 15 years in 40.
I was just thinking the same thing. Lucky him

Strange behavior by Kerry....but sounds like a sweet kid
Very strange. Then again, maybe not so strange. His body was the one thing Kerry got praised for. Not surprising he'd want to show it off.
