Thanks to cameraman its a toturial. Cheers
I wish more camera men did this tbh, especially filming Mark Tremonti instead of Myles Kennedy all gig long.... But that's another story
This duo is awesome
I can see pure talent here... Who can sing now and do that rifff, its really hard. Amazing these guys
Show me :)
Good for you, it´s not an obligation of course... But you know, you have to see to believe.
Jesper Locher He uses a signal splitter with both guitar and bass amps, pretty much playing bass, guitar and vocals at the same time. Try doing that.
You are right, its not hard, but the talent comes when you manage to create this riffs and the voice melody :)
plus the consistent pedal clicking!
cant believe theres only two of them
How on earth he can manage those bass effects and sing at the same time will always be a mystery to me. Royal Blood never cease to be amazing ^-^
As a bass player, this shit is sick! :D
Has a bass player can you explain how he does it ??
@@boomshanka2008 For this song specifically he’s using a harmonizer pedal (Boss PS-6 according to interviews) that he’s set to rise up an octave very quickly in order reach those high notes during the main riff and he steps off the pedal every time he hits the open d
That's magic at 0:44?
Sickest bass playing i've ever seen!
Beast of a song! These guys are the next big thing in music. I can see it.
Here from 2021, I just want to say you wrote this comment when I was 6, now I am 13
2023 update they are huge now
The meaning of this song touched my soul and it's in a way healing my severe case of ptsd. I'm so glad this version happened. Hidden gem
I really hope that more people here Royal Blood and that rock is featured more on radios so that everyone knows what talent sounds like.
I've heard people slate this track! WTF?? Love it, and the way he handles his instrument, well, you know.....😋
Jesus he's like really good live, especially with those bass riffs 🤯
I've been listening to royal blood for a few years now, and this is still my favourite song by royal blood if not ever
same!
AMAZING sound.. and it's a two-man band!?? WHAAT?!
Look up The White Stripes, dude
Евгений Панин The White Stripes didn't really sound good live though
Cannot wait to see them for the first time live June 10th!!!! Wow!!
9:30 club is about to be packed!
00:44 thats magic!
Wtf
HOW
what the fuck in the begining his stick broke but how did he grab another stick so fast?!?!?!
Riko Groot Hulze He didnt grab another one, just continued with the broken
+Riko Groot Hulze HE played with the broken one you can see him throw it at the camera at 1:43
I think he has spare sticks on his stool or something, not sure :/
I could watch Ben Thatcher all fucking day!
wow... modern music makers making music. incredible
I've been learning drums for a few weeks, being taught this track and man it's breaking my balls 🤣
Чудно. Я откопал еще одну необычную группу, которая ещё и очень доставляет. Таланты. Годнейше!
Absolutely faboulous !
Watch this space Gonna be Big!
at 46 seconds, ben's stick (right) flies... a new stick come out of nowhere... Wow! He is boss!
+Sam Robinson Nah. He continues playing with the broken stick :-D
+Tobias Christensen Yeh...
This is so much accurate
I saw them open for foo fighters at citi field and they blew my mind. I went and bought their (LP) album after that. What year is it again? Lol
2015 I think, the did a big tour, how I got into them too! nice and loud
+Steve smith I meant, since when do people go see a band, like their tunes, and then go buy their vinyl album (hence the "what year is it again")
ahh right yeah man! sorry misread :P
Does his drum stick break at the start?
Yes!! He makes a funny face after that, too... lol
At 0:45?
Yes it does actually lol
These guys are good live
They are gold.
Epic!
love it!!!! is perfect 😍😍😍😍
The Garden Oct 24. Opening for my favorite band
2:39 cool..
Art.
and i thought they had more than one member. Had no idea the lead was a bass guitar either
where can i get that white bass, it’s fucking gorgeous???!
Ok I have a question..
Is that bass MADE by fender or is it a different brand of bass and he just put a fender neck on it?
And if it is made by fender can you tell me what bass is it?
Sean Crehan It's a Starcaster
Oh thank you so much Aaron Egovail
RB..Spacca!!
Es simplemente perfecto 👐
real royal blood
fuck yes
0:44 What the fuck
+Vitor Ivo Alves It's magic.
Ben Thatcher is magical.
what kind of sorcery is this
The cameraman knew he would throw it O.o Inception
He's not changing his drumstick. It looks like he drops his drumstick than changes it but actually he keeps holding, the first one falls down from up.
anybody know the setting on the pitch shifter for those high notes
Охуенно, нет больше слов!!
Oh look it's a slowed down Papa Roach - Last Resort riff in the intro..
These guys rock though.
It's definitely not you willy
+Loui Evans not even close lol
Nathan Cook not even close
hey I'm not saying it's duplicate but it's similar pattern of notes I thought..? meh
Loui Evans you're a willy lol
The main riff is tough to just play on its own, without vocals.
Great duo.... Interesting his guitar I only a 4string...
Bass with distortion
He uses a whammypedal from digitech. That it works like a wah. Very easy in fact
What pedal does use to get that sound?
+
Jake M An Octaver, I guess. And actual guitar amps
Come to brazil.
I’m pretty sure it’s a DigiTech Bass Whammy pedal set and octave below
Anyone know what bass pedal is used? I'd appreciate it
My thought is a Boss Harmonist set to octave up whammy setting with around 45% mix. This is evident when he presses the pedal @ 2:18
What kind of bass is he using?
Fender Starcaster.
While this song is fucking awesome, I feel compelled to ask people to stop acting like they are the saviours of rock. I have read comments people have wrote saying nobody can do what the bassist does. He is a VERY talented dude but he couldn't piss on Matt Bellamy's fiddle. Not to mention Chris Wolstenholme. Or Les Claypool. And I am a Royal Blood fan. It all just seems a bit gimmicky. "Oh look, a bass that sounds like a guitar!" Then why not just play a guitar? Ah well.
One question: do YOU play bass? (don't take this one offensive)
+Noyan Hacıpaşaoğlu Yeah, a little. My main instrument is guitar. Like I say I like RB but to me it seems like the world is trying to crawl up there arse and I just cant see why.
+Mathew Lockley well as a guitarist myself I agree to an extent with you, you seem to be a huge muse fan so I'll explain what I see as the difference, royal blood have the closest sounding style to what most would consider to be classic rock to hit the mainstream in a long time. bands like muse and jack whites stuff while its clearly rock its very experimental and deviates massively from rock music of the 60s and 70s where as royal blood are closer to it. oh and the thing about the bass yeah its gimmicky but its also pretty unique again for the mainstream, the guy uses a very complex set up to get that bass to sound like a guitar and still maintain a faint bass line in the background to fill empty space and on top of that they have to make up for their lack of musicians being only a two piece
+MrHyperion You know what? I actually agree with everything you said!
+Mathew Lockley glad to hear it man:)
Does Mike use a wah for the intro/chorus?
It's a digitech whammy or a POG
Using a POG for the octave (fake guitar) sounds.
And a whammy I presume for the high pitched notes in the intro/chorus
He uses a Boss Harmonist for the whammy sounds
so slow........fuck....
World's worst cameraman.
Vocals were too low.
