I am pretty sure Cadence and Shining Armor saw Flurry Heart adding all the extra ingredients and let her do it so they would have the more exciting Hearth's Warming Eve than what they have in the Crystal Empire, and they later told Twilight what happened once the fiasco started.

Did anyone else see minty at Rainbow Falls I bet she's buying socks for friends after breaking the big candy cane into a bunch of crackly pieces hopefully she'll make it home in time after repeating the same snippet of Animation 3 times to pan out the Adventure. Also Everypony run for your lives it's the appetizer
This episode really showed us how stressful it is to find the best Christmas present. And for new characters we've got reindeers, at the end when Flim and Flam were on the train home I think they were planning their next scam, and the changelings were celebrating Hearth's Warming the way Ocellus explained it. I bet if Chrysalis would see that, she will get really angry.
But why wasn't this a Nightmare Night special? A lot of kids say that Halloween is much better than Christmas and they are right. Are the writers too lazy to come up with a Nightmare Night special, or are they afraid about what they have in mind could be frightening for young children? In any case I hope we'll have a Nightmare Night special next year.

Probably because Flurry Heart was clever enough to substitute a bag of flour for herself when she teleported, so her mom would still feel something of similar size in her grasp.

More like the Three Fates of Hearthswarming. Their group title, the Gift Givers of the Grove, sounded like a reference to the Keepers of the Grove, the tellers of the past, present and future represented by three piles of apples (conjured into existence by Discord) in the season 2 premiere.
Somepony needs to introduce Twilight to peppermint tea, at least it will reduce her stress.
Finally someone points out both the Charlie Brown Christmas Reference and the title comparison to the SpongeBob episode :)

A lot of shipping fuel in this one, both for and against (Sorry, Marble... that scene hurt a bit, even if I do like Sugar Belle). This special didn't have the same impact that episode 100 did, but it felt really similar. It was yet another love letter to the fandom, outside of the normal episodes.

1. I didn't like when Twilight used Spike as bait like that (36:46)
2. Rarity kisses Spike again after so long since Season 2! (41:50-42:46) (I bet this means he finally express his true feelings to Rarity)
