  • The weather report called for a 5 knot North wind, so we loaded up the boat and went offshore of Pensacola Florida since the sea report predicted 1 ft or less. We used 30lb power pro braid, uni to uni knot to 30lb leader, with a double hook (chicken rig) and a 3oz weight. We ran our Blazer Bay to a spot my friend sent me, it is just about 7 miles off Pensacola Beach Florida. 80ft deep water we started marking bottom and fish the second we arrived. Dropped our rigs down with cut squid and bonita and instantly got bites.

Our gulf fishing is amazing. The bay has struggled with the hurricanes, washed away most of the grass flats we had. Can still be fun but it is nothing like it once was

Good point. Just crazy how much big storm change the coast. My uncle use to fish a grass flat 20 years ago. That got buried under sand from a storm. It’s never recovered. Still only 2 ft deep and all sand for miles.
