I actually had to dropped the resolution to 1024 x 768 so that FRAPS could record without it being jerky.
I can run it smoothly at 1680 x 1050. My PC specs are:
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+
2048 MB CORSAIR DDR2 800MHz
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (320MB)
