When I had my DSM my plan was about the same as what you did, I was actually going to place the hood vent a bit lower towards the front of the car, right above the exhaust mani, so that I can leave it completely open... If it was to rain, moisture was to just hit the oem heat shield an radiator possibly... Nothing electrical. But I've never tested it out, had to sell my DSM before I got the chance to. :'(
what do you have for suspension??? because i have kyb struts and eibach springs and my lip drags on literally everything because it sits 1 or 2 inches off the ground
Cody Stratton helped great, you can see the heat pour out like it did on my evo 9. Kept the car running great in 100 degree weather and 2 hours of on off traffic. It sits right above the manifold/valve cover.

Shoulda just did double sided tape works amazing instead of seeing bolts. Would look cleaner
kingme fiun The boot setup looks super clean. Double sided tape would wear over time, and come lose. This is a better permanent option.

Brandon Reisch lol no. Every time I park the car for a while I put a cover in the engine bay. When I go to drive again, I remove it.
