Its just something about August. For months I was at like 8-10 finished a month to August having read 31. I think its my brain spiraling about the end of summer. Plus this was like the first month that all of my responsibilities left me with the ability to read like 6 hours a day.
Mere Christianity is a really interesting work by Lewis. I think he does a really good job being very clear and understandable while still working through philosophical and epistemological reasons for his faith. Even if you don’t walk away from his work with complete belief in his faith, I think it’s hard to walk away and still honestly be a devout atheist.
@@toastytowns I think you might really like it. It's fiction, but also heavy on the theology aspects. Basically it's an elder devil writing letters to his nephew devil who is trying to seduce a human to sin so that he can then feast upon that person's soul. Very interesting and thought provoking.
The good month, bad month thing is real. Hopefully when you read Mordew it’s a good month 😏
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I hope you have somewhere to hide when he comes after you.
@@derekb.4292 in my defence, I commented that just before the end of the video
@@bibliomanicpanic hopefully he'll let it slide then 😆
@derekb.4292 I will not, in fact, be letting this slide
@@toastytowns 😱😱😱😱
Time to run for the hills biblio! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
lmao "the anxious generation" part had me dead
You crack me up, I haven't read any of the books you mentioned in this video but the way you speak about them is hilarious haha, I love it
Thank you!!!

Completely agree!
I binge read every August to the point of mind numbness.
September is a reading - free month because of that custom.
What is it about August?
@@toastytowns I'm a teacher and it's the only month of the year where I can drown myself in books and let them kill me.
I really need to get to Mere Christianity at some point. Have you read The Screwtape Letters?
I have not!
