The people backstage who know these things can’t wait to spill the beans and it’s hurting the business. If nobody knew that Cody left AEW they wouldn’t have expected a return. This would have been 100 times more powerful and meaningful had they kept quiet
I was still powerful because 1. Many wrestlers were saying they doubt cody was coming just like aj styles 2. News became public that cody pulled back from returning 3. Many fans were saying it was just an aew work IN other words, they handled the situation well by spreading false info as well as the fans making false theories
