Had a great time watching you explore my “home” Disney Resort. Always love hearing the first experiences of American fans in Paris! We haven’t gotten much investment in the past, but we do have a beautiful park!

at 2:45 fun fact : the huge chandelier with blue lights at the entrance of Adventure Land is a gift offered by Hassan II, King of Morocco, for the opening of DLP in 1992. Which fits perfectly with the Agrabah theming.
Yes, the main DLP park was born with a silver spoon in its mouth. It"s been Michael Eisner's (famous former Disney's CEO 1984-2004) beloved little boy and Roy Disney's too, Walt's nephew. They brought attention to each detail and made it as Walt Disney would have liked.
For instance, the BTM scenery is made with true mining hardware imported from California old mines from the Gold Rush era ...
From a parisian DLP lover. Greets 😜

    THE WATER BOTTLES!!
Basically, in Europe we keep the screw tops attached so they don't end up in the ocean and go to a landfill with other plastics! so if you come back, don't rip off the lid!! It's for the environment 😊
Also I agree, DLP Park is FANTASTIC 👏👏

Actually the European Union has decided that they have to be attached and when you try to put them on, they will leak if you urn upside down.
In part for the environment but also to sell more and that you can’t reuse them…

Just returned from a visit to Disneyland Paris with my daughter, the last time I visited the park I was a teenager and boy it's every bit as magical and beautiful as I remembered. I am so happy that the park survived through all the tough times it's had and is now receiving big investments to both Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios! It was such a magical trip, can't wait to come again soon!

we have a ton of them in London, they basically like mini shopping malls. We call them shopping arcades.. they usually very ornate and beautiful. very good for rainy weather, like london always delivers ;)

  • @dongarcia223
    @dongarcia223 5 месяцев назад +2

The Arcades of Disneyland Paris are an homage to the passages, or iron and glass-covered shopping arcades, which were introduced in Paris in the late 18th century and reached a fever pitch of popularity in the 1830s. Boasting a variety of shops with window displays of luxury goods, the passages were often located near theaters and also offered restaurants and cafés.

We‘ve been to Hamburg to the official stage musical and were deeply disappointed.
In DLP I got goosebumps and nearly a little tear in the eyes, beautiful. The kids were totally overwhelmed. I managed to enjoy and film a little bit.
Would you recommend to go to WDW, hope it tops DLP?

We went to Disneyland Paris in 1993 and have been going back every few years since. Space Mountain used to hold you in the "gun", the music used to build, there was a massive boom that could be heard all over the park and smoke would come out of the side door you mentioned. It had the most amazing music too. I heard a rumour that it was going back to the original Jules Verne theming, that would be great!

A thing I heard from legendary imagineers : Disneyland Paris is the Disneyland Walt Disney and his team wants. We have the ultimate original version of Haunted mansion, pirates of Caribbean, big thunder mountain, main street, small world... According to some people, Walt Disney would have loved our park

I think he would have loved Japan much more!
And anyways, since everything got much more expensive in Paris since natascha took over the management, I’m sure Walt Disney wouldn’t agree.
His idea was a park for everyone, not only the rich!

CAFE AGRABAH!!! It's more Mediterranean than Indian in cuisine, but it's my favorite buffet. And Indiana Jones is THE WORST. At least Cars Road Trip has Cars-tastrophe Canyon! There's nothing redeeming about Indiana Jones! I'm so glad you got to go on BTMRR! It was always down when we were heading over. DLP has the best version of a lot of my favourite attractions, and Big Thunder is one of those! Boot Hill is stellar, and I'm SO glad you stumbled upon it! It is SUCH an incredible hidden gem at DLP. And their Pirates is my favourite of the western parks too! Red here is how I see her best. The muscle behind the overly blathering Captain! She's earned her respect!
Someone mentioned that DLP has the most beautiful unmonetized spaces. From the castle with the dragon, to the Arcades, to the Nautilus, to the nuance and detail of EVERY LAND, it's so incredible.

For a few years in the early 2000s, The Indiana Jones rollercoaster ran backwards. Did you check out the dragon underneath the castle? If not, make sure you can next time you go. Agree that the new Star Wars ride on Space Mountain at DLP makes no sense. The original theming was based on Jules Verne’s "De la Terre à la Lune," where your "rocket" gets shot out of a cannon.

You shouldn't be worried about the lactose, even on milk based products, because most of long maturing cheeses naturally don't have it due to the chemical process. So safe for you! What do you think about the food at DLP? People in general complain, that it's very overpriced fast food, and on the other hand the parks in US attract food lovers. What's your take on that ? I feel like at DLP especially drinks and deserts are more on lazy side of preparation and they are not so much thematised.

Coming from Austria, the so called "food" in Disneyland Paris is the major critique point that I have.
That junk doesn't even deserve to be called food. It tastet like cardboard and styrofoam with a lot of fat and sugar.
I don't believe that the French appreciate that junk food. I think it would be best if Disney wouldn't run the restaurants on their own but to lease the places out to someone who knows how to cook. That would improve Eurodisney about 300%.

Oh I skipped Indiana Jones on my latest trip. It is unpleasant. I also had my head banging on hyperspace mountain and avengers. But they were more fun.
Big Thunder is definitely my favourite ride at DLP. Phantom Manor is the only one I’ve ridden in original non nightmare before Christmas form. Looking forward to seeing the US originals someday.
Very jealous you got to ride pirates. It was closed both times I was there.
Space Mountain is definitely a confused theming. They either need to cover up the older stuff (temporarily if required) or just do a complete retheme…and pick 1

Marineland in Niagara Falls, ON has a very bumpy, rickety roller coaster in Dragon Mountain. The owner of the park died recently and the park probably will too but I hope it reopens as a theme park rather than an animal attraction. I wonder which coaster is more bumpy. It really is hard imagining a rougher ride than Dragon Mountain. It was my daughter's first coaster and I'm having a hard time convincing her that most coasters aren't like that and are much more fun. Where we live we don't really have access to theme parks. The local fair with it's kiddie coaster is our only option and that is once a year.
And it's so amazing you got to go onto Pirates after all! How fortunate!

  • @disabledisney

The Pirate Galleon (ship) hasn't been open in YEARS. I have amazing memories from when I was a kid standing at that wheel. I wonder if they'll ever refurb it and open it back up (it's still listed as a closed attraction) or if they'll just let it be like this in fear of what people these days might do to it.
Without any disrespect or digs meant, here in Europe they're really strict about what can be added into our food. So whereas in the US they might add a ton of stuff to create the flavor/look, in Europe we're 'stuck' with the actual ingredients. So what happens for a lot of USians when they come here, is they think our food tastes incredibly bland, which is only due to the lack of chemical (not sure if the right word) stuff. (this also works the other way, of course, plenty of Europeans go to the US and prefer the food there). So that might be an explanation as to why the vanilla ice cream tastes differently. I say might, because I haven't had it so I can't say if it tastes like other vanilla ice creams here, haha!
We have a Premier Access Ultimate as well, which is crazy expensive and gets you all rides you can buy separately (save for Orbitron for some reason) without return times, you can just rock up. Problem is, the Ultimate covers both parks so it's a waste of money if you're only doing one park AND for a bunch of the rides included, it's not worth paying for due to low queue times. For example, the Cars Road Tours is in there. And Flight Force. So I always recommend people just pay as they go if they feel like Premier Access is helpful to them on their trip. Save your money! Also if others are reading this, for shows usually showing up about 30-45 minutes before show time is enough, unless it's really super crowded.
Aaaaahhh I'm so glad to see Raphael still does guest flow for this show! It's where I first saw him, he was standing next to our seats doing the entire choreography from his spot, haha! He's a DLP legend! (he's the one with the rainbow ears at 23:38)
I have ridden Pirates SO OFTEN and my heart still breaks every. single. time. at the kitties!
Apparently, the square shaped trees also 'spell out' the music notes for the Sleeping Beauty Waltz!
    ALL HAIL THE CROQUE MONSIEUR
it is 1:15am, I wrote way too long a comment again asdfhjkasg but yeah thank you so much for sharing these! Can't wait for you to come back! Would love to run into you! Anyways, you got my subscribe and my follow on IG! (disabledisney)

We have stricter regulations in Europe than you Americans have. So you dont have to worry about the safety of Indiana Jones rollercoaster!

DLP does/has quite a few things better than DL or WDW. The arcades are a great way to get to the rest of the park around a crowded Main Street. Personally I think Adventureland and Frontierland are top notch. Love the interwoven story of HM and BTMR. Pirates is great, so is the Skull Rock walking area. Alice in Wonderland "maze" and Streets of Agribah are also great. On the flip side: Tomorrowland feels small. This could be because when we were there last year, the Nautilus ride was close? The food wasn't nearly as good as what you can find in DL or WDW. In France no less! That was a letdown. I did enjoy our hotel (Sequoia) but the hallways can be LONG. Studios was truly a half park but I'm excited for what the updates will bring over the next 3-5 years. I had heard rumors of a Star Wars land there, possibly Lion King as well. Either way, I think there's plans after Frozen land to continue expanding it. Which is good overall.

The park itself isn’t perfect but I think I’d enjoy frequenting this park rather than MK or DL

@@ThemeParkExpress certain times of the year it’s cheaper as well! Priced out airfare and park stay for my wife and I. Around $3300 for 4 nights! With directly flights from Chicago to Paris too!

unless you decide to eat at a sit down restaurant, DLP food is just regular amusent park food. And its just our european mentality. Disney is a kids park, it caters to children, not adults. If you want an adult exoerience, you go to the fancy sitdown places were kids tend to be more picky and might not eat the food (used to happen a lot in the 90s and early 2000s).

Paris was a bit of culinary letdown in general. And not just at Disney. I think Parisians are still trading on a very old reputation. And haven’t done much to up their game in the face of fierce competition from other cities both inside and outside of France.

There’s nothing unique about arcades in Europe, not just in Disney but in general. Makes sense when you consider the climate we have 90% of the year! Always need somewhere to dip inside!

Question-when you film shows like the Lion King are you able to black out your display screen so it’s not distracting to those around you?

Did you find the parks in Paris a lot smaller than each of the Disney world parks in Florida? We did a day at each park in Paris and found it was enough for us. Would love to hear your opinion 😊

gladly they will retheme hyperspace quite soon.
but rough? its a almost 30 year old coaster, and that given its still smoother than recent new coasters across the world.
