I am only at the beginning of the vlog and I had to stop and tell you that I could just sit and watch those leaves falling in your garden all day long, together with the music soundtrack. Very soothing and restful. Just love the nature content you produce. 🌿🌿☘️🍀
Let the leaves stay. As they break down they put good nutrients in the soil. The soil will compact some with the rain over the next few months so you'll have to top it off after about a year or so. You will also lose some as you pull out dead plantings. It looks great!
Apart for the noisy pheasant, there were some awesome birds twittering in the background. You have them well trained! Loved the intro of the video with the leaves falling. The best part as ever, was little Lumi come running up to you from the brambles!!
I just love your videos, really do. This had me especially happy with the bird's sounds in the evening. It just made me so nostalgic for a summer evening in the country...oh...
Your vlogs are so calming, and also love the changes. The raised flower beds look amazing. On the Decaf subject, it is strange for most, however I am speaking for myself, I have decaf because I cannot drink caffeine due to certain medications that I take. I love coffee so decaf it is for me. You are always so gracious.
Great job Ali!! Can't wait to see your newly renovated rooms!!

Hey Ali, had you guys thought of buying land and building your dream home that way instead of renovating this one? My husband and I are doing this as we've spent over a year searching for the right house and just couldn't find one that didn't need allot of renovations, so we've decided to build it instead. Could be close to the same price as the house + all the renos.
@@sallyannc3176 Yea I also drop a lot of stuff on my floors filming ect.. could get pretty damaged but that could also play into the ageing of the floor...
🇬🇧 I’m really looking forward to your TWO new rooms; I’m hoping for motivation inspo for me to begin the arduous prep work needed in my home as, I wear all the hats in my decorating process the labourer hat (ripping out/stripping/filling/sanding and ceiling painting) is my most disliked hat in the colder months🥺
Very cool and unpretentious. However don't let any drama grumpiness and negativity around you rub on you. Love your videos. Very polished and talented. Tune out the noise in your life. Stay blessed 💐
I never understand why you didn’t have one of the many rooms in the home as an office, From the beginning ? Now your finally doing it 🤔you guys are spending so much money and time on redoing everything you’ve already done. Not being negative, but its quite crazy.
If you follow Justin Rhodes, he is a permaculture farmer. They have raised beds as well and they had put in rotten stumps in the bottom of their raised beds as it helps fill it and it will decompose providing nutrients throughout the box. Full of information. And if you want to have a proper farm one day, he’s your man.
(Sorry, two comments) the plant pots in your kitchen - do they ever “stick” to your window sills? If not, do you happen to know what type of paint finish is on your sills? Random question I know, but I can’t put any pots on my window sills or on top of the fireplace because the paint finish sticks to the terra-cotta 😭 and I’m not sure how to fix it
*'ELLO Ali, as a fellow gardener* I wanted to share, that those are looking really good! I bet Lumi thinks your putting in luxury potty for her though...🤣 *Some helpful advice. If you put in square foot gardening grids then, clear plastic forks tins up, it is low profile kitty deterrent.*
I think probably best to create a compost heap, otherwise putting grass clippings directly on the beds will deplete all the nutrients from the soil whilst they rot. Having a compost is perfect when creating a vegetable garden.👍
So exiting with the bees 🐝 I just want to share a little tip and share a story. My parents once had two beehives in their garden and my yorkie got stung. I found out that he was allergic to bee sting and fortunately my stepmom had antihistamine that we quickly gave him and therefore saved his life. So I just want you to have in mind that sweet Lumi might be allergic and can get stung if she tries to catch the bees around the garden and in the woodland. I'm not trying to frighten you but you might want to consult with your wet and get some antihistamine in hand in case accidents happens.
It’s a fair point. We actually have three active bee hives within half a mile of the house and often have honey bees in the Garden so Lumi is already susceptible to stings, it’s a great idea to try and pick up something for her. I’m also concerned about people who visit which is why i’m going to be taking a h&s course.
@@AliGordon Okay so she is obvious used to lots of bee flying around and hopefully won't be as interested in them as my yorkie was. I definitely think that the course is a must. My parents took one as well and learned so much from it. Also a good point to have in mind that humans can be allergic as well. We actually had an accident where a bee got inside a bee suit and crawled up a persons leg but fortunately nothing happened to the bee or the person. After a couple of years they sold the colony and hive because of my dog and small grandchildren in our family. To bad because they really enjoyed the hobby and the honey was so so good. I look forward to go along your beekeeper journey and hope you will inspire other to keep bees and give them a helping hand to survive in the future. Also I would like you thank you for excellent content and I'm really enjoying your weekly vlogs.

Oh God! I sat down and wrote so many things that RUclips decided to cut out the half comment OR I did something stupid and deleted the comment myself😅😅😅 I wrote Ali’s name because Ali told us in another video that his actual name is Alistair! Hard working and responsible (going on a bee keeping course 🐝), this is why we love Ali.
I preferred the garden with no raised beds as they spoil what was a lovely open space.
@19:12 Lumi is already picking out her favorite new loo in the vegetable garden
Quality control in the veg department falling apart from day one haha
That’s what I thought! Gee thanks Dad for the great, big litter boxes!!
The autumnal colours in the garden look amazing, I think it shows the garden at its best this time of year.
I completely agree 👌🏻. Autumn is well up there as the best time for the country aesthetic.
The mood board for your dressing room has a Gentlemen's Club, Ralph Lauren Home look. Very sophisticated.

I love your videos. They're always so lovely and fun. I like getting the guy's point of view from the Millen-Gorden household.
I would worry about resale with two top rooms being wardrobes and no space for beds...
I was thinking that too but they have I believe 3 bedrooms downstairs
It’s a”forever”house!
Most people buying this level of home would want two dressing rooms. Not uncommon at all in a luxury home.
Fair enough, but I'd expect a house of this size to have more bedrooms and a whole top floor of wardrobes seems excessive to me

why have you put a liner on the base of the veg beds? the worms won't be able to come through
