I don't think so. I got my WoW friends at a forum dedicated to Warcraft 3. There were social media in Internet - it's just that the percentage of population that had access to the Internet was much lower. So the overall perception is that social media are prevalent among everyone - but it's not solely because of social media.
They were also made by goofy guys who wanted to make a game that was fun. Now they're made by suits at corps for quarterly earnings reports. It's an entirely different beast
I started playing WoW in 2006 right before the release of BC. I was 12 years old. I played all the way until MoP. Came back to the game after college, when BFA came out. Speaking for myself, BFA and Shadowlands did not bring back that magic feeling I had when I played the game way back when. They were both not very good xpacs in my opinion. Classic WoW was the best thing to happen for the franchise since OG WotLK. Some may argue Legion, which was the only xpac I regret not playing. Dragonflight is the first xpac I've put a lot of hours into since Cata. When Xaryu asked what would bring people back to retail that used to play, my answer was a reset. I mean completely hit the reset button and make WoW 2, WoW: Azeroth Reborn, something to that effect. The game has become too big with too much to learn. The game does a terrible job to teach new players. I mean the new player experience is atrocious. Speaking from trying to get my friends to play over the years. The game needs a complete overhaul and reimagined into a new and modern experience for new and veteran players alike. I don't think that will ever happen but a guy can dream.
Tbh, as someone with a similar experience to yourself with a couple of differences, mainly I walked away in late Wrath then came back late into WoD and got to experience Legion. I agree with you to be honest. Legion was amazing. It reignited the magic for me... But at the same time it was like false hope in a sense because nothing that came after it hit that same crescendo. Legion in many of the same ways as Wrath felt like an ending to the stories of the core cast of Warcraft 3 characters that have carried the lore since the start of WoW. If people loved Wrath because it was the end of Arthas' story, then they loved Legion because it was simultaneously a reignition and an ending to Illidan's story whilst also smattering in a generous helping of class fantasy and other legendary lore figures in the form of Artifact's, Class Halls and Class Hall Followers. Playing the expac's following Legion was like watching Marvel movies after the Endgame saga. They went from these massive story arcs with world ending implications, where multiple of your favourite figures from the lore were popping up and teaming up in every entry, back to these more grounded single character building arcs. You went from having Legendary weapons and uniting the members of all your classes to fight a greater threat, back to small time feuding with the other faction again over some comparatively petty shit even though you just came off working together to save the world, resurrect titans, defeat the legion etc. So like Legion was like a blessing and a curse. But to your point about a WoW 2. The end of Legion felt like a perfect place to end WoW 1. Once that battle was over imagine if instead of going into BFA they just said "WoW 2, set nearly a thousand years in the future. Most of the heroes you knew are long gone, consigned to the epic pages of history and the only reminder of the battle fought to save the world those many years ago, the long dormant Sword of Sargeras, stabbed into Silithus as an eternal reminder of what once transpired. Now new heroes rise to tell whole new stories in the world of Azeroth as the peace those heroes fought to achieve slowly begins to erode, and the drums of war begin to beat across the land once again." I would have been 100% in. Feeling content that the characters that have fascinated me since Warcraft 3 reached the end of their stories and looking forward to seeing something new set in the same world.
There are a lot of issues with a wow reset. Just a few... 1. Developers/planners are still holding onto the esports dream. 2. Each expansion and each patch gives less and less interesting casual/solo content for those who aren't trying to pretend they have a shot at the top .1%. 3. Collectors who lose the collections they have slaved over are going to nope right out of there. Potential collectors will never even start because they can see this would happen again.
@@kaakrepwhatever You're certainly not wrong that it causes myriad issues for the dedicated player base of the first game. But you do have to remember that the question Xaryu asked that the OP was brainstorming and speaking on is, what would attract new players to WoW and bring back players that have already lapsed? Those player already didn't care about the developers "e-sport dreams" nor enough about their collections to continue playing to maintain or expand them. And I will say as someone who returned in spurts myself the new/returning player experience is not good and is vastly different to your first time walking Azeroth. No one else is around in questing zones. You're forced through levels so fast your unable to play through the older story arcs in any meaningful way. You're not immediately end game ready upon reaching max level and lack the necessary connections or experience to make yourself ready right away so even if you're willing to put in the grind that the existing players put in, you're still behind the 8 ball so to speak. So you're then forced into that more solo/casual style of play you mentioned that they don't make enough interesting content for and even if you did focus on say questing, you feel no connection to the characters/story because you were powered through the existing story so quickly and in such a disjointed way that you have no feelings toward anything you're encountering. So the new player/returning player experience feels very lonely and solitary by comparison to the existing player experience. Because unless your up to date and on the cutting edge of content then such is the state of modern WoW that there are nearly no other players around you and it feels less like an MMO and more like a really patchy disjointed RPG. Which leads to these people, myself included, dropping off and burning out very quickly. That's why I think specifically for new/returning players as the question asked, WoW2 would be a viable option. Because realistically there is no way to catch up and have the same experience as a long term player in WoW as it stands.
@@kaakrepwhateverit could probably be approached in the manner that PoE2 is, where you can have both. If you want to play PoE 2, you don't lose access to PoE. The game is in serious need of graphical/functional updates. Sharding needs to go away - as just one example, they either need to adopt the approach a lot of KR games have where you can hop between servers/worlds while on a mega server manually or figure out another solution to the population problems. Sharding is so negatively impactful to the immersion/world experience and look at the mess it causes in SoD etc with world events. It's a lousy bandaid. With the pseudo graphical/spell updates that we've received the servers *seem* stressed - you can't have the number of on screen players that have in the past been possible. You get a couple raids going at it and you can crash a world server, and at the very least you're going to be living your best life as a slide show.
I didnt play for a long time what made comeback was honestly SoD. I was done with wow retail, and classic era. The change in the game makes it feel familiar yet like a new MMO. Its probably the best state of wow currently.
After we downed heroic Razageth, I jumped into solely playing HC Classic. I spend time with a very close friend whom I stayed that way with by playing WoW in the first place. We play HC classic together with her 9 year old daughter (when the 9yr old wants to play) and I enjoy Classic immensely. I just don’t put the hours in I used to is all.
You would have been disappointed either way. Matter of fact, it’s better this way because your hopes weren’t raised all the way up just to be completely smashed down. They were only raised slightly before activision could completely disappoint you. Now, tell me you aren’t the delusional fool who thinks there was a chance of this game being good when there is no real gamers left at that company who know how to make a good game.
As an adult with a full time job and dependents, SoD made me go back to play WoW when I wasn't playing WoW anymore. SoD did that. Because I can't related to retail anymore and I've done all classic up to Wrath. I wanted something new, but not something with all the problems that's in retail (problems to me anyway)
Problem is a business is essentially a transformer of resources into value. Blizzard is doing a lot of good things that does not contribute to the transformation of resources into value, as the aggregation does not occur. Think of it this way: A "security" is a bag of things and a bag for money, that makes money for those things, and then give the things to their end owners and the money to their end owners. While some people get money, some people get things, not all the people who gave money get the things they expected, and not everyone who gave things receive the money they expected. That is how "bag of values" (as it is known in old latin) or "stock market" (as northfolk knows it) works. This is blizzard now. The "Hacienda" (Farm in latin, but the concept of a nation wealth in "our slice of the planet) works in work, land and materials worth X becoming something that worth more than that X, ideally at a optimal rate. Blizzard used to be a Hacienda. It is not anymore. It does not drive the industry, it does not create "concepts of value", it does not innovate or export talent. It is basically a "bag of stuff" that gets money and gives stuff at a margin. Even Larian, which is not at any rate a good game studio in my opinion, did not became a "bag of value", it is still a small, but producing "hacienda". Season of Discovery, like most things Blizzard has been doing, is just "getting stuff in the bag to justify people putting money in the bag", but it is not "made", it is things "with a new coat of paint". And a lot of this is due to players. Game companies have no political or moral responsibilities. They are there to make games. People tell them what they like, and they make it. Blizzard today, is garbage dump.
for me the monthly sub if removed no one would complain about can't find time to play. it's all about the pressure that the monthly sub puts when u don't have enough time actually to make ur monthly sub worth the paying. if there was no monthly subs me as 30+ years old i would play the game on my own pace and wouldn't care but since i'm paying monthly always feel pressured that's why i quit. (btw it might seem weird but making the sub 26 dollars for 2 months instead of 13 dollars is actually worse for people like me , it makes the pressure even worse bcz i cannot make my sub worth it at my own pace rather for a month , now dealing with too months each it actually hurts ; btw World of Warcraft should be enjoyed by all the people of the world ; countries like in north africa or eastern europe etc who have bad economy that sub actually hurts , if you want to check the fun buggy servers is filled with us the rest of the world who actually think that 10 dollars isn't nothing)
What brought me back was SoD and it’s incredible but what keeps me from really committing more again is the elitist community. I can’t hit 40 in a day and once the content is done once, they don’t add you to groups without experience or xyz gear/consumes. I wish there was a more chill way. Maybe I need a better guild? Idk. None of my friends play anymore so it’s kinda missing that aspect for me.
That's it. We're not kids anymore. And we need to accept that we can't get to endgame content in 2 months anymore. Play the game an hour or 2 every night. Take it slowly. Enjoy the experience. Explore. Because that's what we did loved most about it as kids. 🤷♂️
Ever since Dragonflight released the WoW team has been posting W’s. Doomers who don’t play retail anymore or they go into it with a bad mind sight looking for something to hate will also find something to hate. But sod and Classic has been good W’s as well. I think the classic content creators are like chuawawas and that’s why we see them a lot more they are very loud spoken but the retail community is just fine as well. Both aspects of the game appeal to different people. If you like wasting your time leveling and slow character progression but that sense of adventure that’s great. If you don’t really wanna grind and just wanna do challenging content and get super strong as your adventure that’s great too. The games evolve like he says but I also think games need to evolve . Think if we had Classic for the past 20 years the game would of been dead, or worse got cut off . Just be thankful we have a version of wow everybody can enjoy
The little mini-rant/explanation he goes into around 17:15 is so spot on accurate. Thats been the issue for a long time. Trying to make one game to fit two different generations of players. I think this is why Classic was so successful. Newer players will probably prefer retail, us old fucks will prefer classic. And theres nothing wrong with either one. One isnt "better" than the other. We should hope both paths continue successfully imo.
I think there is a market for a new MMO to take the world by storm, but yes I do think it'll involve a lot more than just a good dev making a good game. It is a cultural thing as well as influenced by so many market trends. A lot of stars need to align if we are to ever see another MMO like vanilla WoW.
People don’t have the attention span for an mmo like classic wow. It would need to be way different and less grindy if they want as many subs as wow once had
It would be nice if getting gear was made easier when your doing dungeons and raids. Sometimes there are days I get no gear drops at all running M+ all day, and if your trying to gear a toon whether it be a main or alt that sucks. I think the challenge in the game should be the keys and trying to get higher, try out different gear builds to see what might work better in different situations. But we cant do this because just getting your first set of BIS can seem to take forever. I think if they took M+ looting and changed it up a bit so when you finish a key you'll get 2 pieces of loot 1 that is dps the other tank or heals. If your team does well enough to 2 chest it you get an additional chest for the dps. So that would give always 1 chest to reward a tank or healer piece, and up to 2 chests for DPS. You could go 1 step further and if the key is 3 chested 100% chance 1 of the pieces of loot will titanforge upgrade or something to that effect. And a meaningful upgrade not just one thrown in for the sake of the mechanic. With gear dropping more people might play more alts, or just play their main more because gear dropping wouldn't be an issue.
11:20 facts, my work just got bought out and that's exactly what they've done the last year. They haven't tried changing much (aside from things we requested like a better schedule) they're just watching and seeing what works vs. what doesnt and frankly it's been a good look for them as a parent company
I get where the woman with the Victoria Secret catalogue question comes from, but its a video game directed toward male players. Its about selling the game and believe it or not Victoria Secret models is what most men want to see. That's just life.
as you asked what would make me come back? thats a good point. i left wow after we cleared sylvanas mythic HoF ally . gone a bit casually and ended up no lifeing lost ark with over 9k hours. so what would make me come back? i think if blizz would stop putting some systems in the game that are pointless when the next raid or addon releases.. im an adult with my 31 years now not a kid anymore, but i still can go with all of my free time in a game like im doint in LA right now . but stilll the last 3 addons i played in wow were just grind after grind with no end for systems that are irrelewant after next patch.
You hear your voice from inside your head, it sounds deeper and clearer in there than it does for everyone else. It has to leave your mouth, travel through the air and bounce around in our ears to get in our head. ;)
I would consider coming back if my friends from back then all came back to play. I don't want to deal with meeting new people in a game that seems to be mostly solo with exception to raiding a few hours a week. I could be wrong, but there doesn't appear to be much of a community as everything feels like it is about the individual.
I'd love if the OG Blizzard team and artists came back so we could have the same quality of detail, pace, community and stories like the original game had. Chris Metzen coming back is a W to me! And Xar is right addressing the different generations and their expectations/attention/time to play these games.
The new yearly release schedule for retail I'm calling it now is a way for Blizzard devs to get ahead and create the new MMO. I think we only have the next 3 expansions then new game
I started playing in when i was a little kid in cata. Then I came back for Classic Launch when I was 15 to play and I played all through naxx and into tbc and on and off ever since.
Everyone has that story of the first time they see a decked out, max level player in a major city. It's funny that we think back so fondly on that, but we don't allow ourselves to feel that way again. Instead the leveling journey is neutered, we'll buy a level boost, and we aren't happy playing a couple hours a week if it means we aren't doing max level content.
The amount of editing and effort made to create this video makes me think it is actually a Microsoft production made to promote the company. Which is very very smart in terms of marketing.
Tbh Xar is asking a question that's been answered. "what would make them come back to WoW as much as they did when they were a kid?". I feel like HC and SoD did that. Hotter take i feel like Dragon Flight brought oldies back to retail.
As genuinely invested I was in the topic of this video, something else caught my attention. Of course the treatment of employees is absolutely abhorrent, which unfortunately my voice won't help.
You need to be a villian in order to have a redeption arc. Maybe they can do it. I think for many, they pushed the boundaries of being as%hats a bit too far though.
For me, it would probably take a re-work of both PvP and a reassessment of PvE. PvP, feels overwhelmingly gimmicky these days on retail compared to ~LK-MOP imo (not to say that there weren't periods within those that had their own gimmicks, but it felt much more tame and manageable). Games are either far too long or boring while people jebait into deep dampening because healing is out of hand, etc. Or.. someone gets one-shot in a relatively unactionable amount of time. As well, there's such a mobility/interrupt creep that casting has gotten incredibly obnoxious and healing randoms as friends have left just feels like an uphill battle through a lot of toxicity to find some chill people. I miss being able to go into a bg ( LK for example ) even in crafted blues and being able to make an impact. Now... like SL+ especially, you have to grind + upgrade sets forever and if you haven't done that you feel about as impactful as cup of water in a pool of lava. I liked being able to do PvP for my PvP gear and being done, not multiple sets to just replace with another set. I farmed and had a finish line that didn't take weeks of gated spark content, etc. PvE feels like it's gotten to an excessive level of mechanic bloat as well... where in the past an addon could be 'helpful', they now feel borderline mandatory because you have a fight with 16 (exaggerating obviously) mechanics... something you wouldn't have really worried about unless you were doing 'harder' (heroic to mythic) raiding content. As well, when it comes to class balance in any regard... changes don't consistently occur, and game breaking issues go increasingly lasting periods of time without adjustment. When change does occur, its sweeping changes - why can't everyone been within a like 5-10% window when it comes to damage/healing, etc... you have things that are so far from who's at the top that people won't even pug with you or in a more serious guild you may be discouraged from a spec/class because of its more than marginal gapped performance. I'm not as bothered by the time saves / level boosts. I'd feel the same pretty much regardless, I'd prefer that they weren't there but I'm indifferent otherwise. Things like GDKP contributing to gold bloat and non-existent normal pugging felt far more like a nail in the coffin to communal activity than that did. Every time I go back to Warmane I have fun for a number of months until a friend group stops, and infinitely more than I've had in a very long time with Retail. I don't know, it feels like we've done some kind of around rump to get to our elbow shenanigans where they've tried to 'save time' and 'make things more attainable' while simultaneously trying to implement as many artificial time gates as possible because 'oh no, people don't play as long' and now it's just some cluster**** of an amalgamation of the two. The classic iterations were a much-needed breath from what retail has been and their time is passing now as we move to Cata and beyond which were less popular. In that regard, it's unfortunate - but as well, I'm happy playing other things at this point. I'd love to have that joy for it return, since I've spent so many years in and out of the world, but much like Asmond has recently stated - I've enjoyed enough time, had enough memories, and I'm fine if it doesn't happen ( cool if it does, meh if it doesn't ). The cynic in me really feels as though they just don't have the team or the support for it anymore, though. So much is automated and so much has been done that breaks up the world of players within the servers.
Haven't used a 60 boost I enjoy leveling...I have a 12 mage, 20 shaman, and 28 lock I'm leveling now...oh and a 58 monk. However, I don't understand how others using a 60 boost effects me. I've always wondered that even with the carries for like achievements, titles, and MoGs etc. Like I don't understand how it effects me at all lol. I mean yeah they might smash me on my way to 1800-2k but he'll Pika will smash me on the way as well. Q again and keep it pushing.
IMO, SOD success has a lot to do with Agrand and his engagement in the community. I've said it since classic vanilla, community engagement is what made OSRS successful, too. The transparency and addressing concerns of the player base go a long way in these game-as-a-service games. Well done SOD team! There is still a lot to do in P2, but I'm looking forward to future content.
Blizzard are just too soft now. All the mtx is like acid rain. Melting the real game. One day.. there will be more "rewards" in wow that come from the store or some sort of promotion than there is in the actual game..
Best take I've heard in a long time. You are right I'm 33 and unfortunately nothing blizzard does will bring me back. I still love watching wow content though 👍🏼
With the xp buff increasing from 50% to 100% and increasing it 1-25 to 1-39 in sod is a great win for me. I work full time and feel like I can catch up to the normal streamer who plays all day. We kinda asked for it. However it also comes back to where you cant make everyone happy. I can see both points of views
@@isaacgame7304found the guy who lives on wow going from discord to discord looking for a egirl/kitten like hey look at me I can make comments about people having lives and then shit on then.
Its a good change for this phase. With gated limited content, alts become a significant amount of content and fun themselves. Most people I know had at least 2 25 alts they raided with, but only maybe 10-20% of my guild has either 2 40s or 2 at almost 40. So we're down to 2 raid teams and zero alt raids, amd some of the slower levelers to 40 are SOL and dont have a spot in either raid and have to pug, and pugging is not as effortless as in p1.
Xaryus innocence towards some of blizzard wrong doings in cute. "I didn't know he replied like that" to the girl about the VS catalog was a massive oopsie in blizzards past.
Well, I guess we know what "body type" @Fattyb00batty is looking for. Don't crap in the pool everyone else has to swim in, just because you wanna do the backstroke in a toilet. Find a good one and feed her up yourself, bro. 🤷♂️ Edit: What was your favorite TV show as a toddler? "Telechubbies"?
Nothing wrong with that reply, people are just too fucking sensitive. The game isn't supposed to mirror real life, bitch needs to hit the gym if characters in a fantasy MMO are making her upset because of the way they look. Fuckin yikes
Question directed to the share of the audience that dont play anymore "what could they do to bring you back" my personal answer: Classic servers where only inactive accounts could play again. id only go back if everybody else were also a noob
Boomer is just a pejorative term now correct? Because my parents have no idea what Warcraft even is. I knew very few boomers playing Warcraft even in vanilla. SoD brought us Gen Xers back for nostalgia, but what really brings people is passion. Blizzard is a corporate shell now. It's just to make money. It used to have devs who loved making money, but they set out to make art in a video game space. As games get popular, passion diminishes for follow-ups and profit takes precedence. See Diablo 1 vs Diablo 4.
I just fear that they are in just going to self destruct by splitting the player-base across so many flavors of wow. Essentially rendering all realms empty/dead.
Something else to add to your point Xaryu about the generational cyclical nature of gaming and other domains, is the pace of society as a whole. The pace of a society directly reflects how gamers approach games. Now in 2024 the pace of our society is like "Go Go Go" regarding pretty much everything in modern life and it is directly reflected within games and how gamers approach them. The rush to endgame fast pace combat, power leveling get to endgame etc. Gone are the days of slow methodical patient gameplay. I myself was once one of these slow methodical gamers back in vanilla WoW, but i can't stand the slow pace now as i have grown older. Alot ofc has to do with me already knowing the game inside and out. But i see this impatience with younger players too. It is a consequence reflecting the pace of our society as a whole on a psychological level.
lol you always sound like that - tho I can agree when I hear my voice I’m like “that’s what I sound like?” Almost confusing lol. It’s just weird to hear your own voice from the 3rd person point of view. But yes you do sound like that - your voice is iconic own it! 😊
We'll see xarbar, it may be copium but i truly believe thaf if riot decides the mmo theyre making is good enough to release all the valorant kids are gonna go nuts for the mmo genre.
I will come back to Wow the day I’ve exited the rat’s race and can live life in my own terms. Until then, it feels wasteful to play Wow or any other video game for that matter.
Lol going over how not many people played cs, or dota, because they didn’t leave their basement. I did wow cs and dota and yep. Those games were my friends or where my friends were back in school. Rip
I know a lot of people are riding the sod hype wave but I am just not feeling it myself. i tried it and did not really enjoy it. I dont enjoy dragonflight and wotlk is dead. i just unsubbed for the first time since 2004. I have spent more time playing wow than anything else and still love it, but im just not sure what they could do to bring me back. the magic is gone for me.
The language used by Blizzard employee's does not incite confidence... It's the language of politically left leaning people and if those are who the games is going to be modelled by and developed by, it bodes for a dark future for REAL gamers. If political agendas are what drives the narratives the games will be garbage.
only thing i'd like is a arena tournament realm . i only enjoy pvp on wow. i do not like raiding or dungeons. i only like arenas. all i wanna do is hop on and que up.
Welcome to adulthood kids.... ...it only gets worse from here. You'll have your time back after 60. Your taste will change too. You'll even start enjoying different kinds of music as well. Just keep an eye on what your kids are doing & getting into. And don't let our world burn to the ground. Most of the generation before worked really hard for what we have.
i havent played wow in a long time all i do is watch u and pikas vids the ONLY thing that would bring me back to wow in general is no boosting wow token ruined game for me as a pvper just running into boosts and if ur not a booster no one wants to do arenas at this point
Its too time consuming! They wont be back. Ill probably have to leave the game because of time :( And dont take me wrong, i will not be back cos of easier stuff, that will only make me happy that i actually left... Job, wife, kids i simply dont have time to enjoy the game as much as i would want to :( No changes 'in the game' will change that.
Not everyone even agrees with the original assumption, that WoW is on the way up. Show us the subscriber numbers. Content has been weak this expansion.
The reason mmos were so amazing in late 90s to mid 2000s is because it was some of the first forms of social media on a mass scale.
I like this take and I think there is some validity to it
I don't think so.
Also players were more willing to goof around and do NON-PRODUCTIVE things in games.
Today way more people are wanna be esports players.
no classic is and was good game devs just cant help themself ruining it by getting to greedy
I think Xaryu doesn't have to change his voice to rp like a gnome, lol.

"there's no way I sound like that!" You are so real for that! 🤣
Some people actually have a deepening of their voice during their 30s, so this all makes sense
I find it hilarious when xaryu does the "for gnomergan" but it just sounds like a slightly different xaryu 😂
xaryu reacting to hearing his voice will always be entertaining.

I’m a big fan of Valheim. Enshrouded. Sons of the forest. Them canceling the survival game was the biggest disappointment

20:33 yeah.. i stopped in MoP(2014) and i am not comming back…
Mop was goated lmao, good riddance
for me the monthly sub if removed no one would complain about can't find time to play. it's all about the pressure that the monthly sub puts when u don't have enough time actually to make ur monthly sub worth the paying. if there was no monthly subs me as 30+ years old i would play the game on my own pace and wouldn't care but since i'm paying monthly always feel pressured that's why i quit.
Just be thankful we have a version of wow everybody can enjoy
love that dudes one piece poster with young shanks sitting on the bow
100% agree with the initial sentiment of the video.
Aside from that what amused me to no end was Xar's reaction to his own voice.
And Xar is right addressing the different generations and their expectations/attention/time to play these games.
i love that xaryu post so much content on youtube so like me and other eu guys can watch him aswell
The new yearly release schedule for retail I'm calling it now is a way for Blizzard devs to get ahead and create the new MMO. I think we only have the next 3 expansions then new game
Glad you can recite Xaryu from a couple weeks ago. The new expansions will stop on the 25th anniversary.
u guys rly believe who got literally the blueprint for the best mmo in the world and still shifted it in the drain make a good new game?
I started playing in when i was a little kid in cata. Then I came back for Classic Launch when I was 15 to play and I played all through naxx and into tbc and on and off ever since.
Everyone has that story of the first time they see a decked out, max level player in a major city. It's funny that we think back so fondly on that, but we don't allow ourselves to feel that way again. Instead the leveling journey is neutered, we'll buy a level boost, and we aren't happy playing a couple hours a week if it means we aren't doing max level content.
Yeah well I got banned 3 months for gambling and winning against someone else who bought gold. And I found out that they didn’t get banned.

When's the podcast happening Xaryu?
Trade one evil master for another. Make no mistake, Microsoft is no different.
Best take I've heard in a long time.

With the xp buff increasing from 50% to 100% and increasing it 1-25 to 1-39 in sod is a great win for me. I work full time and feel like I can catch up to the normal streamer who plays all day.

Love the content bro. Keep it up!
I just fear that they are in just going to self destruct by splitting the player-base across so many flavors of wow. Essentially rendering all realms empty/dead.
"blizzard is being set free," instant layoffs + an entire cancelled game... idk about that
his videos are so great, really recaps whats going on right now
Something else to add to your point Xaryu about the generational cyclical nature of gaming and other domains, is the pace of society as a whole.
8:00 Well, that didn't age well

Take a few years off and then come back, thats what I did and it worked
It started with D1 - all this drama…
The language used by Blizzard employee's does not incite confidence...
It's the language of politically left leaning people and if those are who the games is going to be modelled by and developed by, it bodes for a dark future for REAL gamers.
If political agendas are what drives the narratives the games will be garbage.
"This past year has been a lot better" not for OW players, oof lol
