Hi Patrick, I have enjoyed your series of vids revamping this old classic. I'm looking forward to seeing it run. i have bought about 12 or so locos from the UK and the USA in the past. But in about 2016 or so, the postage costs from Europe and North America became unbelievably expensive. I think the Aussie dollar must have depreciated around that time, but it is no longer viable anyway as you now get slugged with a 10% Goods and Services tax as well. Postage and taxes can effectively add 75% onto the original purchase. For collectors, the UK is a treasure trove as the locos are in good condition and usually come with the original box etc. Steven.

The Vinted platform is great, it links more European countries according to cost of living and shipping cost parameters. At the moment I can access users from Italy, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal. In November I'll also be able to trade with Germany. The EU Eastern European countries are also covered, but trade among each other due to similar cost of living and shipping costs. As soon as I finish this locomotive I'll present my small collection of 00 stock.
