Nyan Cat is a song called "Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!" which was originally produced by Daniwell-P and sung by VOCALOID Hatsune Miku, though the version used in Nyan Cat is a cover by UTAU Momone Momo.
Nyan Nyan is an insert song from the anime Macross Frontier and is actually supposed to be a commercial for a restaurant in the anime. It's sung by Ranka Lee (green haired girl in video) who's voiced by Megumi Nakajima.
I'm not angry at you for mixing them up. I just wanted people to know this.
I now constantly have this song stuck in my head. And I say "nyan nyan" at random intervals.

Yes, she is. It's said that Gumi's design was based on Ranka Lee's design, but this hasn't been confirmed as anything else than a coincidence. Though it would be awesome if it were true and Gumi singing Seikan Hikou is also pretty cool.
