Good morning Joe, I think it’s time for a shelter to cover your axis and dump trailer so you can work in the shade/rain or snow. Then you will have no more excuses. Just steady production, you could possibly put that student to work on splitting as well allowing you to concentrate on sales and deliveries.
Morning joe nothing worst than having your network down all sorted now how is business doing all good i hope i love that easton made log splitter it gos through anything its a tuff machine thats for sureuntill next time sorry joe trying to catch up with everyone besafe
Whether it’s firewood processing, farming or a multitude of other things one thing that is very important is having an efficient system down with how you handle your workload. It will either make you or break you.
Ever consider wearing saftey shoes (with steel toes) while operatring this fantastic machine? I am here in Canada worrying about a round somehow dropping on one of your feet. Love your video and all of the impoortant info you are imparting to others. THANKS!
Great video again! I enjoy your dry humor and enjoy watching this machine work! 🙂 I wonder, has anyone been successful at renting one of these out or renting out your services with the axis to help offset the heavy purchase price? Marv from the FLX of NY.
You’ve got a nice setup at back 40. Lots of room and potential. I love being part of your planning. September and October should be nice for production.
Hello Joe, a few weeks ago you mentioned that you received the “New” conveyor and would post a video on the installation of it. I’m very much looking forward to see your experience related to this installation. I purchased and received my new Axis a few months ago, and the directions on installation was none existent. I attempted to get advice from EastonMade without success. I hope you will post this video and give your honest and unrestricted feedback.
It is hard for me to tell you how much I enjoy these Sunday mornings! To see you working hard while I enjoy fresh coffee and a nutritious breakfast in an comfortable chair in an A/C cooled environment. That Eastonmade Axis is a great machine, no sloppy manufacturing there since it is Canada made. If a was younger I would buy one, just for fun! Thanks Joe! Entertaining as always.
Very impressed with the working and the workers of the Ohio Wood Burner Ltd. You have your wood world taking shape Joe . I'm going to take lessons from you in making a wood yard and the like . Be safe and drink a few Doctor Peppers
Good morning joe, A Pole Barn in the future? Maybe its time! Nature works fast at ruining equipment left out in the open. Love the Axis! Take Care and Stay Safe my friend 🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
I never tire of watching you work the Axis or the Super Split. Greetings from Canada, hope you find a good spot for the Axis. You are exceptional as a one-man operational. Keep it simple and within budget and with all you can process now, you’ll sleep well through the dark days of winter.
Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. That Axis is one Big Mama, weighting in at 1700lbs. I had a fabulous Italian 13ton vertical splitter weighing 770lbs that I just couldn't manage manually so I had to sell it in the absence of owning any kind of tractor. Surely it would be a simple task to organise a simple shade umbrella to protect you from the sun until a more permanent solution is found. Also, I always have a fan blasting me, even in winter, when splitting - I can't imagine what it's like splitting in 90F. I see the dreaded rust has attacked the rear wings of your truck.
A labor saving idea for the aging Joe would be to invite your viewers to come each split wood for a day. Think of the machines you could help sell! Think of the content!
Joe, just a thought and observation, could it possibly be payed out to have both conveyers dump into a central location where you could back the trailer in and be able to dump from either the Axis or the Japa? Ideally, and in the perfect layout it all makes sense but as we know, layouts change as does the lay of the land per say. Have a great day all. 👍🏻
Joe. With the right equipment or work ethic (I don't have the equipment yet) some of us firewood guys like big rounds and we can not lie.. in your case equipment is working out great..
Possible idea Bob. I eventually will get this figured out. Depends on how the trucks come in and where they can place the oversized logs to where I can fork, cut and split
I enjoy and learn from all your videos. One question on Axis splitter. When you activate the foot pedal can you regulate the speed of the splitter or is it a go no go situation. Thank you. Rich from Northern New York.
great video joe. at 5 min i was like dont forget about foot pedal pin. but you got it buddy. i have moved mine 4x. its not easy to move but each spot is better than the last. @ the log hog
I assume you already thought of this....but just in case. Your two wood splitters have elevators that dump into your trucks or trailers. Those vehicles have to travel on your pads for all seasons. So the splitters positions are dictated by your elevators. Therefore your wood offloading locations is dictated by your splitter positions. Logic sort of works backwards from elevators to initial offloading areas.
Can you grease the conveyor chain to stop them from rusting or would that muck up your clean wood? I’ve noticed your live deck looks pretty rusty. Can anything be done or is rust on the chains just inevitable? I’m all about taking care of expensive things through preventative care. Thank you!
Hi Joe, i am not a fan of Eastonmade, had one 22-28 and it fell apart-but this one you have seems to be a cut above and other owners of it,love them...the concept is good too...
Yeah you're right those big rounds make lots of little sticks but I don't know if you thought of this you probably have just haven't gotten there yet but if you had an L shape off the end of your Timber Road with enough that you could set the axis up and then to the right of it or your conveyor is have enough that you'd be able to back your trailers in under and then on the other side maybe make it a little bit longer off the end and that's where you can set your logs cuz you're not having no humongous logs all the time and I don't know anymore Timber mats are available but if not it might not be a whole lot to do that little bit and fill it up with gravel to the height of your Timber Road just a couple ideas but I'm sure you're going to get there
If I did that the big log would prob be set on the grass and the lift would be above it. I need to fork big logs with my tractor and set them in the grass to cut them up as i am now
@@ohiowoodburner yeah well I also say like put some whether it's gravel or Timbers on that side or the other side of your from your conveyor so you have an area to stage and cut the big logs
Great machine. Love watching it. I was wondering when you have those really big ones why don’t bring the log to the left and put the big splits to the right so you don’t have to keep moving the big piece out of the way to split the smaller pieces up. I don’t have one so it’s just an observation. Thanks for the video. Oh by the way. Love seeing the 405 and the super split. I think you have three of the best machines around.
I think I normally do that. when we film I notice if the big piece is on the wrong end it blocks the rest of the shot. Also sometimes a heavy log when it gets in a place under the knife you just go with it LOL
Great Video as always Joe. Looking for some much Cooler Weather and less Humidity. Just got a new Saw Stihl MS-271 FARM BOSS. On hold to use it currently just to Hot out. I get my Things 1 at a time. Your Easteen Made Machine looks great. Do I notifie the company that I would like 1 and if they could Sponsor me if I join the U TUBE Channel. Ron from Duanesburg. I get Logs delivered like you do only They are big and for my use.

Nice to keep the mess away from the house. You're gonna love the new chain. Really appreciate the support
HI THERE that big maple is a lighten strike . john
get Jessie to get you a load of old mats, and head back to your trees for a place for the axis. , that machine look fun
Hi Joe. Thanks for another great video. Time for the poof machine to make a place for the Axis. Ha ha. Have a great day 👍🏻!
Those are some big rounds. If you ever want to do a road trip to Wisconsin with your Axis, I have some enormous Oak rounds that need splitting!
I’ve got a great place to park that Axis. Thanks
ha ha! Thanks mark
The cycle time certainly is wonderful on that splitter
fast as you can run it Eddie!
Good morning Joe, I think it’s time for a shelter to cover your axis and dump trailer so you can work in the shade/rain or snow. Then you will have no more excuses. Just steady production, you could possibly put that student to work on splitting as well allowing you to concentrate on sales and deliveries.
A shelter, over the work area would be nice. Put it on wheels, could move it anywhere
You could work in the rain/snow and get out of the sun
I think you are right but I also hope to find a new location eventually.
Morning joe nothing worst than having your network down all sorted now how is business doing all good i hope i love that easton made log splitter it gos through anything its a tuff machine thats for sureuntill next time sorry joe trying to catch up with everyone besafe
Man, that's a beautiful splitter! I d love to work with one some day.
Put in more timbers orbilled a rock pad offof the timbers and put a large roof 9ver it with a winter time windbrack to the pervaling side.
IDEA ! U SPLIT FIREWOOD. You provide the rounds and the Axis the customers do all the work that I just watched you do. Charge by truck bed size
ha ha... that takes all the fun out of it!

hope so too but that is also when deliveries start heating up
I see a shade tent in your future.
Maybe more mud mats too.
I hope to get move out of here one day. Never know tho

That log lift saves your saw from noodling and your back from lifting. That’s quite a machine.

Great splitting with the Axxis!! Your woodyard is coming together. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day

There was some pretty curly maple characteristics in some of those pieces. 👍
Good job!! Cooler weather - no fair!! 😉 Have a blessed day!!

Rust is inevitable here in Ohio BR!
@@ohiowoodburner - as long as it doesn't get you next!
Hi Joe, the Axis is a large but great splitter for your needs. The Bobcat moved it with ease. Nice to get some cooler weather.
gotta have a big machine to move this for sure buddy!
Good to see the axis back into production!
Thanks Zeke. Just need to avoid 90 degree days!
Great video Joe! Man did you see the bugs in the back ground? We have the same swarms of bugs
Yes they were pretty odd. They like that shady area back here in the mornings

So nice to have the right tool for the job. The Axis was great with those big rounds. 👍
Indeed it is RG
Why don't you have a ➕ wedge to reduce the number of operations?
Great video Joe how's things with you did you get your new supply of logs
Hi Paul. I never have enough supply it seems!
Great machine! That pickaroo and the lifting gate has got to be a great back saver🤠👍
Sure is Lance. Thanks buddy

Joe you should put your axis on a concrete slab or put concrete slab in different place in the back 40 great video

That axis did a job on the maple logs in that heat, The Axis is the best vertical splitter on the market,
I believe you are right Ebele!
Joe question how many pices of equipment do you have for your fire wood business.
great video joe. at 5 min i was like dont forget about foot pedal pin. but you got it buddy. i have moved mine 4x. its not easy to move but each spot is better than the last. @ the log hog

sure does buddy!

Thanks buddy. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience
Great machine. Looks like a real back saver. Btw, do you think Jesse will be bringing more oak mats anytime soon?
You da man
Thanks D
Cool!
Thanks bud!
I don’t mind big rounds because they have a ton of wood in them.
agree but they do make me sweat more than I want LOL
Still a lot of work but much less than with my box store machine. Gotta get more totes, Joe.
I'm hearing you Jason!
Be nice to get a canapé over top of the splitters to protect them from the weather they are not cheap machines?
Hope that can happen one day Brent!
hello, my friend Joe, how deftly do you handle these big stumps, you have hay there, and you are always on time

Gotcha. I can understand that.
Keep them videos coming.
Why not place the eastonmade next to the sceener. This way you can just conveyer the splits and junk all up to a single location for cleaning.
That's the best idea I have seen so far this morning ..
not sure if the axis outfeed can reach that high. I have to get something figured out eventually
It’s Wednesday no video? I hope everything is okay Joe 🥸
Just put a large umbrella on machine then you have shade when ever needed
