I just learned to self cut a low fade. I am no barber, but I do enjoy watching your videos to get more insight on cutting my own hair. Im one of those guys that can’t go a week without a fresh fade so I’m saving tons of money doing it on my own and I encourage everybody who’s reading this to try it as well.

Yeah Marty you nice, but I realized you only pick the perfect thick dense canvas to do these videos, when in reality you’re only gonna come across this type of hair every now and then in the barbershop. Help barbers by choosing a difficult canvas like thinning hair and fades that you barbers are really having a hard time. This doesn’t take away from how amazing you are but let’s keep this 💯.

However I can never understand his unique style of transitioning with the 1/2 Guard. Can anyone explain???
I understand that with the half he explains going up 1/2” with the lever “half open”.. but then opening it all the way open and “creating another guideline the same Size” ??
Is it Going up 1/2” higher with it open? (I doubt you can easily see this?)

When you say make another guideline when blending the 1 1/2 mid and then you open it and create another guideline same size what does that mean you go over the last one or you make an entirely new one above the other one?

That’s called the bald line aka the first guide line and that’s determined by what kind of fade the client wants

Important barber question from a beginning barber so my client had ringworm kinda spreaded over to me and 3 other clients on the scalp I’ve always disinfected my stuff with andis spray but Ig I wasn’t clean enough cause the hairs inside the clipper and by the time I knew how to clean it even more with barbercide it was too late what do I know disinfect every little thing
It could also be from combs, scissors, and/or razors not just the clippers
