I was jamming to some Voodoo Child, because I love that song, and I was exploring some ideas with the fills when I put them against this E5 chord and I had an a-ha moment. Today we are going to look at the E5 power chord, which also works as a sub for the E chord, too! and how we can use the open E string in the chord to create tasty fills, licks, etc. I will show you three basic Jimi licks that you can rock and roll with and have some fun with and after that you will be able to add this chord and these ideas into your own playing and jamming.
I'm talking tasty Voodoo Child style tunes, Jimi Licks, jams, E vamps, Hey Joe, or your own original songs, there are so many ways for you to use this lovely chord!

Hahaha, yeah man. Sometimes I wonder what there is to dislike, I get indifference, but dislike? Maybe it is a personal vendetta with Jimi? I don't hang myself up on it too much. Their loss.

@@TenThumbsProductions it is, i tried to learn it from watching which frets were being pushed on and strings being plucked but there is no "legit" tutorial out there so when i was copying the riff they do some black magic trickery with their hand and lose me but it sounds awesome

jake story you can really do any, but i was doing a D D DU and over the e it would happen 4 times longer, check out our hey joe tutorial and that should help thy more in-depth.
