These are amazing watches and well worth every cent. Flawless fine case finishing, crisply cut and razor sharp hands and the way the end links fit to the tenth of a millimeter. I backed the Kickstarter campaign for the polar white version and it has been one of my best purchases.
I had funded this on kickstarter and have a salmon face on my watch. It is really well done and at the quality level of a higher price point. This explains why a good but lower end Seiko movement was used. And while the saying on the back was historically appropriate most thought it was less than optimal.
These are really nice watches. I got the grey one in the kickstarter campaign. I’ve been wearing it on an elastic strap, and I think the size is perfect.
I have the black dial version. Took it with me on Christmas vacation to Texas. Movement accuracy was about -2 sec/day which was really surprising for the NH35 movement (though that started to slow down more after a couple of weeks). I like its legibility, especially at night. Currently have it on a black leather strap so I think it’ll go well with a suit. Might take it on an overnight hike later this summer, to see how it does as a camping watch.
Ordered mine and it’s coming in the mail tomorrow in the red dial!!!! So stoked! Also shout out for the best run business around. It’s not everyday that the big man himself responds to your email within a few hours!!! Also don’t forget to keep pumping those pink watches out Mr. Marc!!! 😉
Marc...that purple / crimson / wine shade would be a *perfect* colourway on your ISL line of watches with the bright and pastel colours .....I'm sure it would be very popular.... 😀 The long living shellfish line style of watches......
This is a really great-looking watch. The dimensions are great as well. I dig the numerals, I'd go for a crimson dial If I were to buy this watch. By the way, their logo reminds me of Citroen's logo! Is it just me?
Really nice looking take on a field watch, especially the grey dial version. That is the one I will be looking to add to my collection in the near future. 😀
Love that dial, so refreshing to see applied Arabic marked than printed dials, pity they didn’t do a black or blue dial but still the grey dial is pretty cool.
Would love to see female or negative end links for islander bracelets. Hope you make replacement end links or offer such bracelets for the islanders in the future.
Good-looking watches -- great dials and nice bracelets. Love the arabics. Elshan has great taste. I don't mind a ghost position but it's too bad the date mechanics weren't removed.
I'm actually wearing my Pathfinder as I'm watching the review. Superbly built watch and the dial is gorgeous. However too heavy as a field watch, it feels like a diver on wrist. Not an issue for me, I bought it for the office as I like some bling to brighten up the place
Wearing mine too as I write. Salmon dial is superb, Replaced with grey nato but would also suit dark brown leather. Will never see a field let alone an ocean. Bling indeed
Salmon is a weakness of mine. I hate it because I hope it’s not following a trend, but I don’t hear people talking about it as much anymore and I still love it, so I might be safe lol
It's from "Lays of ancient Rome" by Lord Macaulay. 'Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the Gate: "To every man upon this earth death cometh soon or late. And how can man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods..."'
How can a man die better than facing fearful odds for the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his gods. From the Lays of Ancient Rome (read in Morgan Freeman's voice in the movie Oblivion)! Cool watches too. 👍👍
Well it looks like it started out as a field watch idea. Then it got turned over to the company fu-fu division for the dial colors and applied arabics.
Hey Mark! Have you noticed these recent-ish pilots/field watches with 1. applied/raised "fat"/aviation square arabics 2. wide sword/cathedral hands 3. a colored gradient dial? These three have done it recently: Zenith Pilot (blue, green burgundy) H Moser Heritage (blue, burgundy) [the best one imo] Patek Calatrava Pilot (blue) As far as I know, no other mainstream/macro brand does this cool integration of past and present Many have the regular Black dialed versions (see Seagull Mount Everest) The crimson Axios is the closest to this aesthetic, but it also does feel like something is missing- mostly with the thinness of the hands, and the thinness of the arabics. Overall, it's nice to see this aesthetic made accessible. Do you know of other examples of this aesthetic? The biggest challenge seems to be the type of arabics used. Bc there are watches like Oris Pointer Date which thin rounded arabic, and not the thicker squarer arabics. Thanks!
I had 2 Nissan Pathfinders(4×4) and have a Cassio Pathfinder (Used for Hunting). I don't know how I feel about a watch company trying to sell heritage that isn't really theirs to sell.
They're not selling heritage that really isn't theirs to sell, rather they are paying tribute with this homage piece to the "Pathfinder", a specialized unit of WWII. Longines, Bulova, and Victorinox to name a few all have offerings as well. The dial most certainly gets its inspiration from the vintage A-11.
Sorry but not sorry the ISL-37 I have is better in every way. They're nice just too thick. Cool bracelet really star of this was the white gold Daytona. I'd wear it more.

Just bought the salmon dial from LIW yesterday. Looking forward to getting it!
Thank you.
I have the Salmon dial and love it! Great value for the money
Awesome, thanks!
A blue dial would be nice. On your website the crimson is a solid color. Thanks for sharing them Marc. Have a great day! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Yeah, looks like an oversight!

Wow Mark absolutely stunners! My favorite Crimson dial which looks purple. Great price too.
I'm pretty sure it meant to be maroon...too much of a coincidence given the name of the watch and the Pegasus on the caseback.
Thanks.

Sounds good.
Awsome watch. I have 2. One Slate Grey and a unique one... ;) Very good finish and build quality.

Thanks much! Yes, it does.

Update. Just went to get one and Marc is already sold out. 😮💨
Love that grey. The best colour by far.
I have the salmon dial that I picked up during their Kickstarter campaign.
I love this watch. It sports a nice bracelet as well.😎
Very cool!
The crimson dial is a stunner !
Sure is. Looks great!
Love the crimson dial, but the cream lume looks better on the slate.
The case finishing looks superb for the price
4:58 is that what it looks like? The pictures of the -01 look very different.
Yeah, that's what it looks like. You are correct
@@islandwatch Awesome, thanks Marc!
Nice caseback. Good to know the Bulova has its battery. And your Rolex is really really shiny, Marc. Happy New Year to you
Thank you, Happy New Year!
Good looking watches, thanks Marc 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for watching.
Looks a fine machine with the always fine and robust NH35 :)
Is it me or does the crimson one have 2 different fonts in the "11" digits ?
Look lovely but all sold out now? The crimson looks really good
Those numerals are awesome.
Sure are.
I have the salmon dial and looking at getting the black dial. Nice vid.
Nice, thank you.
200m WR for the Paras that swam across the Rhine out of Arnhem. Pegasus, Pathfinder, maroon dial...the watch screams airborne shock troops.
Thanks.
Love that dial, so refreshing to see applied Arabic marked than printed dials, pity they didn’t do a black or blue dial but still the grey dial is pretty cool.
There is a black dial.
Backed the KS and have the white dial , really nice watch for the price :)
Very nice!
Would love to see female or negative end links for islander bracelets. Hope you make replacement end links or offer such bracelets for the islanders in the future.
;)
I've been hoping someone would carry the Pathfinder. Any idea when you might get the full color offerings?
When they make enough, I guess.
Good-looking watches -- great dials and nice bracelets. Love the arabics. Elshan has great taste. I don't mind a ghost position but it's too bad the date mechanics weren't removed.
Yes, I agree with that.

I bought the meteorite version on the kickstarter and it is a great watch in hand.
Awesome, good grab.
Gorgeous watches. Would love to see a blue dial.
You and me both!
Love it, especially the salmon!
It's pretty cool.
The crimson dial doesn’t look anything like the picture
Yeah, I"m realizing that now.
I love those applied Arabic numerals. I love them on a Longines, and I love them more on a watch I can afford.
Blue would have been the choice, but in the absence of that the crimson definitely has the best contrast.
Thanks Richard.
Salmon is a weakness of mine. I hate it because I hope it’s not following a trend, but I don’t hear people talking about it as much anymore and I still love it, so I might be safe lol
It looks great.
Marc, I love these watches! Do you have the solid crimson dial like on your website? 🙂🐶
Just the gradient.
@@islandwatch 😭🥺🙂
I saw the beautiful crimson fume dial on the email then saw it on the website and was disappointed, then I watched this and I'm just confused.
Yeah, it's the gradient dial. Our bad!
the bracelet reminds me of tire tread or brick road
Indeed, thanks.
They certainly can, I’m new fav watch
Nice thank you.

'Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the Gate: "To every man upon this earth death cometh soon or late. And how can man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods..."'
Great-looking watches, especially the white dial veraion. Too bad they don't use better movements.
Wow, that "brick wall" bracelet should have been on the Phoibos Great wall !
Right?!
Probably would have gotten the salmon dial during the Kickstarter if I hadn't been waiting for/ gotten the ISL-37... Oh well
How can a man die better than facing fearful odds for the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his gods. From the Lays of Ancient Rome (read in Morgan Freeman's voice in the movie Oblivion)!
Cool watches too. 👍👍
Thank you, Joe!
The salmon one is so nice
Indeed.
James T. Kirk digs it.
That salmon dial really pops 😍
Sure does.
Wearing the slate grey one as my daily
Very nice, thanks.
That is a beefy bracelet. I wonder how light it would be on a horween strap...
Love the look....but unlike some, (apparently), I'm a sucker for both day and date. Can't please everyone!
I'm reminded of AOL.
Well it looks like it started out as a field watch idea. Then it got turned over to the company fu-fu division for the dial colors and applied arabics.
I
Would love it on a leather strap the crimson or silver
Hands and number marker look like Brietling Colt
That was a quick sell!

Thanks for the great feedback. What about the Nodus Pilot? (except the hands)

Interesting, thank you.
Why would they cover up the date? If the NH35 has the date show it seems like a waste to me.
The salmon color is nice, but I prefer that color on a dress watch. That crimson, tho!
Sorry but not sorry the ISL-37 I have is better in every way. They're nice just too thick. Cool bracelet really star of this was the white gold Daytona. I'd wear it more.
No problem, thank you.
nice nice
Thanks
38mm would have been better imo
if they only had made it a 38mm....
1st👊👊👊👊👊👊👍
Just ;)
Nobody cares.
:)
These designs don't feel like they will age well...
Time will tell.
