I can't tell you how delightful the series title "Wild Crimes in Historical Times" sounds. I'm excited to see this series happen XD
Also, I vote we bring back taking insects to trial. I'd personally like to sue mosquitos.
But can mosquitoes be held responsible for the Plasmodium that causes malaria? 🤔 Surely we live in more enlightened times! No, we must sue the microorganisms; anything else would be ridiculous.
I will happily sign a petition to sue mosquitos
I'd gladly enter this lawsuit, considering I was literally bedridden for MONTHS thanks to Chikungunya, which is a disease spread by mosquitoes. I wouldn't wish Chikungunya on my worst enemy, it is no wonder its popular name is "break-bone fever"
I’ll sign for that! The mosquitoes MUST PAY!🦟💰
Apologies for commenting before finishing the video but WILD CRIMES IN HISTORICAL TIMES IS SO JINGLABLE
wild crimes in historical times, a cop a ganda film from the bill and ted multi verse😂
you could totally sing that to the tune of "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)
Someone get a bard-core band to make a music for this series of the channel with this, please!!!

honestly love the shorter, light hearted, less information heavy videos. as much as i love the super dense and rigorously researched content, stuff like this can be a really lovely break imo!!
❤
agreed c: both is nice! Having a few lighthearted ones is just nice and refreshing ;3
imagine if the honey industry started rebranding their bottles "bad sinful energy" and bacon started using 'homicidal' on their packaging 🤣
These days that might fly. I used to get the MoHotta MoBetta catalog, and some of the hot sauce names were just wack--Ass in the Tub, Religious Experience The Wrath, Insanity Sauce.
I would stock the fridge with homicidal bacon! That would be a bold statement and would have to be killer bacon. Not to mention it sounds metal. Perfect bacon for middle aged Dad's bringing back straight razor shaving kits.
@@EverettvonNordeck-gf2cw 🤣🐖
I would 1000% buy Demonic Honey. Lol
Now I'm gonna start beekeeping and roll up to the farmer's market advertising my Evil Sinful Honey made by Malicious Bees
Kaz pls don’t worry about the video being too short, we just love any content from you and I still got a good amount of bracelet weaving done!
Anyone who wants some more about the animal trials, there's a lovely video by Historia Civilis called "Can Animals commit Crimes?" That covers several of the same cases.
❤
“53 seconds ago” this is FRESH 😋😋😋
The last one was very "what were you doing at the devil's sacrement🤨"
😂😂
Honestly if you need to take a break that’s ok, hope things even out soon. Sending positive vibes. That being said, this video was awesome, I laughed out loud and am eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Positive vibes ❤️🙏🥰👑🍫🍭🍬😎
Kaz, I for one could listen to you speak on ANY subject for any length of time. Love your work, thank you!!!
i feel so special being here this early 💛
edit: 9:27 i feel like the ultimate defender of rats would definitely be copia emeritus tbh
YEAAAAA 🐀‼️‼️‼️‼️ ghost mentioned
Whatever you need for that dopamine boost. Could be worse. You do you.
what exactly is the attitude for?? dif somebody piss in your coffee or somethin?? @@EverettvonNordeck-gf2cw
A little disappointed to learn that it was a lawyer for rats and not a rat who was a lawyer, but I guess I still enjoyed the video (/s, video was great!)
Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time. I really enjoyed the video. It's nice to have something a little more lighthearted and fun. I think we all can use that sometimes. I look forward to all your videos, whether they are thought-provoking deep dives or silly true crime of the middle ages.
Loved the video! I recently listened to a German podcast (Geschichten aus der Geschichte) where they cover the topic of animal trials and it is assumed/proposed that the defense speeches were training speeches written by law students.
Super interesting either way, thank you for taking your time to make this and all the other amazing videos :))
Good on you for taking a step back and remember that your well-being comes first. The viewers will be here when things calm down for you.
Fantastic! Glad I got here early, can't wait for part 2
im sorry i don't know his name but i'm such a huge fan of the little blue rat in the background staring off into space as though he is seeing into the cosmos and has understood ths secrets of the universe
That's Tutter and we all love him. 💜
omg back from work and just in time for a kaz rowe video :3
Im sorry you have had a rough couple of months I hope things get better for you! I love your work so much and whenever you post I get so happy! Thank you for spreading wonderful history
I'm glad you're doing better. I hope what you went through doesn't come back. I enjoy what you talk about. I like this one, cause this historical info is funny and true. Thank you!
I loved this video and would be delighted to see more of this series. Take care of yourself, Kaz.
Sometimes you just gotta accuse your neighbor's cow and have it put on trial, you know? But man, this was a wild and wacky ride for sure. Rich merchants, keep breaking those sumptuary laws in the name of hot calves! It'd be a crime not to show off.
First video of yours I watch as an archaeology student 🎉🎉
I’m sorry you’ve been having a rough time, I hope things get better for you soon ❤. What a fun and interesting video. Btw I’d definitely be a rat lawyer, they’re awesome creatures, and ive had several as pets.
Excessively pointed poulaines indirectly led to the deaths of a lot of the Austrian nobility: in 1386 Austria fought a battle against Switzerland and had to dismount their horses due to the rocky terrain and remove their poulaines and fight barefoot, and Swiss halberdiers made short work of them. Some depictions of the Battle of Sempach include piles of these discarded shoes.
Oh my! New Kaz essay. They once again graze us with fabulous outfits. We'll have a GAY time. 💖💖
Sad for your stressful time. I hope it all shakes out well, and soon.
This video was so fun, I love this style of random funny and interesting stories!!
im sorry to hear that you’ve been having a tough time :( please don’t let youtube get in the way of your self-care !! we’ll always be here when you’re ready to come back 🫶
wake up babe new kaz rowe video just dropped
Love this video concept! Especially if it's less stressful for you 🎉
Pigs were NOT allowed to roam around freely in the streets. Aside from the obvious dangers they were quite valuable, so you wouldn't want the roam about uncontrolled for them to get into accidents or get stolen. Most places straight up had laws against this. What DID happen was that they were let out once per week or so to clean out the sty and in fall they were herded into the woods to fatten up on acorns and stuff. Those tasks were handled by swineherds, but its possible things could get out of control on those occasions which would explain the accidents.

Pigs can be mean critters. And yeah, nobody's letting the equivalent of the meat department roam uncontrolled. With cattle, it's the meat and dairy departments.
Loved this video! I understand having to take some time and do something simple to recover from a busy time, and the quality of your work remains brilliant. Keep up the good work!
Hi, Kaz, love to see you!
Shorter content is great! Just happy to see you posting 🙂
Thank you for doing all that research, scriptwriting & content production. It was a lovely video. 🧡👍
I hope life is kinder to you!
Love these stories! They’re so colourful! 😂
More medieval crime and punishment please! It may be “casual”, but it’s still fascinating and presented perfectly.
(I hope things get easier for you, Kaz)
Kaz, you're particularly glowing in this video! Love the eye makeup and look. ^__^
hell yeah new video!!
My day has been made, thank you.
So excited for this series!
Great idea for a series, very interesting!
a kaz rowe video is EXACTLY what i needed today thank you 🎉
I'm honored to be this early to a Kaz video
Super hyped for this series!!
YES A NEW KAZ VIDEOOOO. (You’re my favorite RUclipsr fr)
Hope everything gets better for you very soon ❤🎉 thank you soo much for an incredible video!
Fantastic video as always
You're as enchanting as always. 📯 Have to say this was really fun and up my alley! I wish you the best, my friend.
Man was convinced for having sex with a cow and got a punishment. Cow was sent to live in nearby village as her punishment - in reality cow was too expensive to be killed and needed for milk but wronged wife didn’t want to see it ever again
I was having to deal with a very hyper bunny of mine while listening to the animal trials and it gave me a chuckle. Even though my slippers got nommed he was trying to eat the rubber soles ^_^;.
But he just got punished by being picked up and cuddled to which there was a great protest XDD pretty sure he's go in for round two when I fall asleep though lol
Came in at 1 minute 🎉🎉🎉 love what you do Kaz
i'm so seated for this series kaz
This was really interesting. And Kaz, you are allowed time when you need it or just want it. Be well.
lets gooooo! perfect timing for having to do dishes
I like this shorter content too !
Take care of yourself, I hope the next few months are a oittle kinder to you.
You had me at, "Rat lawyers"! 😂🐀🎓😂
Delightful!
i NEEDED a new video today. about to toast some pop tarts and devour them as i devour this doubtlessly fucking amazing content
Yay! New video. Hope you are doing well, better, Kaz ❤ 💚💙
I see Kaz, I click play.
the bakery laws reminded me the origin of the phrase "Bakers Dozen". It's 13 pieces, twelve plus one more to make sure it's over the legal weifght of the order.
Hi Kaz, this video was great! I've been doing some cursory research on medieval crimes before i ended up on the case of Peter Stump for my thesis. It was probably the most significant werewolf case in Central Europe and had a massive influence on later werewolf trials as part of the witch hunts. Maybe some thing of interest for you :D
Awesome as always thanks ❤
Great video! 🙂 There's something quite funny that a 20 minutes YT video is considered 'short' these days!
i always look forward to your uploads. Cheers!
Love the short vid. Thank you!
watching this as I clean whilst breaking in my 5 inch heels 😭
First! Gee, I was sooo bored thank goddess you upload a new vid 💜
Great video! This reminds me of a book I have, a collection of Elizabethan folios about con artists, gamblers and sex workers.
when i read the title i thought you meant rats that were lawyers but this is somehow 1000% better
love the new series! godspeed!
17:25 Old executions are WILD
I vaguely remember in one of the old Irish legends there's a bit where some hero gets angry at some mice for some reason and, on his own, puts them on trial, finds them guilty, and builds a teeny-tiny gallows to hang them. I think it's somewhere in the Cycles of the Kings, aka the Historical Cycle.
Also, that late 14th century look with the wicked short tunics and snug leggings is my favorite men's fashion, and I keep hoping it will come back in style because I genuinely appreciate the look of a man's leg. \eyebrow waggle\
love all your videos Kaz! Take care
maybe that guy who was arrested for cloning a sheep will one day in the distant future be a "wild crime in historical times"
hope youre doin ok, sending love and thanks for a great video
Digging the Cake reference
I *need* a collab or combination of Kaz' 'Wild Crimes in Historical Times' with Caitlin Doughty's 'The Middle ages were Magic'
The Clerical Necromantic Underground strikes again!
We should bring back animal trials. My cat should have to answer in court for what he has done
hilariously fitting video for me cus I'm reading umberto ecos The Name of the Rose rn
Your vid’s are the best!!
havent even watched yet but by title alone,,,,,,,,,, me fr
I see what you did there with the Cake reference.
On the leggings: it is worth remembering tights were often not... ah... joined at the inseam
New favorite video, thank you lol
I need to know where the shirt from the Aura advert is from, it's such a look
being bread shamed is so funny
very fun video, loved the bread one haha
Ace Ventura meets Canterbury Tales!
3:43 isn't there a French movie that came out recently similarly to this but with goats? , but I'm pretty sure it takes place in the 1600s not in the middle ages. Edit: found it!! It's called "Les Chèvres!" (Or "This is the Goat" in English), came out Feb 2024
6:26 lol, and then you mention the plot of the movie, lol
You had me at "Rat Lawyers"
And I stayed for pigs in clothes 😅
I like a shorter video. Sometimes, I absorb more information than from longer form content because of ADHD.
Be gay do crime!
Super excited for the rest of this series!
Good video! Take care.
thank you for the council of worms clarification lmao
The same city in 1521 hosted a formal deliberative assembly overseen by Holt Roman Emperor Charles V,; such assemblies were know as "diets", This one was called to examine a radical monk named Martin Luther, a major figure in the Reformation. Thus, my 4th grade class at a Lutheran parochial school got to learn about The Diet of Worms. I assume this is still happening at such schools, and the same sort of hilarity keeps ensuing.
@@lindafreeman7030 this is hilarious if i was in 4th grade learning about worms diet i'd be giggling the whole time lmao end worms diet culture embrace worms body positivity 🫶🏻🪱
Rat lawyers better not disappoint
Great video!
Fun video. I have learned. Now go thou and care for thyself.
we have a terrible understanding of modern times too - history is hard - not human's fault - surely medieval citizenry suffered similarly...
I find Kaz Rowe’s videos very interesting and informative. Her channel is a great find!
Their channel.
@@flowerboy7810 oh is there more than one running the channel?
