- Review of the Masters of the Universe Origins Turtles of Grayskull Mutated Mer-Man Box set that is made by Mattel Toys. I also show some parts swapping involved with Other Origins and Masterverse Mer-Man figures.
This one looks like the best figure of the Turtles crossover, if not maybe the best in Origins…I want him so bad…. 😮
I agree! He is definitely one of the best-looking box sets this year for the Turtles of Grayskull season! He's hitting certain Walmarts now! Hopefully, he will be released to certain places like BBTS later. Thanks for checking out the review 👍
If you’d told me that Mer-Man was gonna be my favorite figure from the line, I’d have laughed, but dang this guy is amazing. Definitely the standout!
Lol. Thanks for checking out the review! I would honestly say the favorite Turtles of Grayskull box figure is probably the Megator and Krang at this point. But I really do like most of them so far. But this Mer-Man is high on my list now as far as favorite figures with this line! He looks awesome 👍

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch the reviews and parts swapping! That is very stressful and takes a lot of time. I also have help in the background for the preparation and removing many parts off camera I don't show. But it's really cool to see certain combinations mixed with other figures. Yeah, keep an eye out for this Mer-Man at your local Walmart if you have one near you!👌

Love the new intro! This guy is amazing!! Best looking origins figure out there. Best detail in an origins type figure. That head sculpt is so menacing! Won’t be getting it cause of space, but if I ever encounter it for a great price, I’ll grab it for sure!!
Thanks for stopping in as always, bro! I have been wanting to make another Intro similar to the Masterverse Intro for a while with the Origins figures. It was just gonna be He-man surrounded by the villains like the first one. But now, having that Cartoon Adam and Cringer set figures, they make for a good start to the Intro to transform to Cartoon He-man and battle Cat! Yeah, this Mer-Man is awesome looking with the sculpt, colors, and accessories. Another great box figure for the Turtles of Grayskull series! I hear you on the constant fight for space and more toys!

You would have thought a Webstor mutant would be a no brainer. Like how he looked when he was mutated in the 200x show. With all the legs.
I remember Trying the Origins Mantenna legs on Webstor in one of my reviews to make something like that 200x spider inspired Webstor. I have a feeling that Webstor Mutant design is on Mattels list for this Turtles of Grayskull line. That figure setup with spider legs would be highly anticipated if he is done right! I find it interesting how quite a few of these ToG figures seemed a bit blah to me when they were first revealed via promotional pictures but then they look so much better in hand. This is another example, I’m very impressed with this Mer-Man figure! I also like the translucent colors, and adding the tail is an interesting twist on Mer-Man.
The one thing I noticed immediately, though, and something I still have an issue with, is the head. It just seems too big and looks disproportionate to the rest of the body. The sculpt itself looks great…it just feels like the whole thing should have been shrunk down a bit, otherwise this figure would be perfect!

I am really impressed with the overall design and accessories with this Turtles of Grayskull Mer-Man figure. The colors, Translucent effects, armor and that alternative colored lady slither tail really makes this figure more interesting and can be used for some cool Mer-Man customs like i showed in this review. Yeah the head is on the larger side. It's really noticeable with the armor off! I guess it's supposed to all part of the Mutantion with Mer-Mans body and head now after being effected by that Toxic ooze! Aside from that, this is really one of the best TOG box figures this year!👍

The design and accessories feel like he could just be another variant Mer-Man for the Origins and have nothing to do with the Turtles line. The armor and tail work really well on the other origins Mer-Man figures. 👍

Yeah they just might! I'm surprised we have seen a slime pit He-man in the Origins or Masterverse yet! The Classics made one. I have him still in card. He is very rare and expensive now.
He's definitely a highlight! I've tried ordering him through the Walmart app and he's been cancelled twice. Today on the third try they delivered a Mutated Moss Man as a replacement. I'll take him. I bought him and some other figures on pre-order on ebay back in November, the shipper never shipped and apparently I'm just out of the money with no recourse so I'm glad to at least get Moss Man at retail prices. I'm looking forward to seeing the fin on Mermista!
Thanks for watching! I can't stand that Walmart app or their online service with many of these exclusives! I usually go to eBay and just pay a higher price if I have it to review figures early. I never preorder anything on eBay. After 30 days, you lose the buyer protection if your item doesn't ship. Ebay should never allow this for Preorders on that site. The Mutated Mossman was a good haul, I guess. He's another really interesting mutated Origins figure!👍
@@Themanchlid Yeah, I learned the hard way on eBay pre-orders. I'm thinking about taking the seller to small claims court, they knew what they were doing. I just opened up the Moss Man and he's even cooler in person! Especially the fly trap head. Love this line. And thanks for all the swaps. I know it's a lot of work.
@MrHootiedean Yep! I also learned the Hardway on Preorder from Ebay! I love buying stuff on eBay. But not Preorders! If you paid with PayPal, then you have a 180-day to open a dispute in most cases with them if eBay is out! The parts swapping is a lot of work with help. Thanks for your appreciation for that.👍
I cut one of the straps at the bottom of the fishtale version. It looks good on the speareye version

That figure looks amazing. It would have been awesome if they ever made Mer-man an actual threat in the cartoons that he looks like he should be, instead of constantly making him the butt of Skeletors and He-Mans jokes
Hell, yeah, TommyStarkiller! This Mer-Man just looks evil! I couldn't stand that the cartoon made that character such a joke at times!
But those filmation cartoons are awesome.
@christaylor2428 Yeah, they are! I like them. I just wish certain villains like Mer-Man were more intimidating sometimes.
@@christaylor2428They were awesome when I was 9 years old but when I try to watch them now or even the Netflix version, they just feel like throw away characters. You see an amazing figure like this and you'd think this guy has to be a big bad that's gonna give the good guys some issues, but nope, they're treated like buffoons.
@TommyStarkiller True that! It's fun that some of these parts can mix well on that Origins Cartoon Mer-Man, which showed and helps beef him up!

Yeah, this is by far one of the coolest looking versions of Mer-Man in the Motu series yet! He can just fit in with the regular Origins without even having any ties to the Turtles line as a new Mer-Man variant. The new armor and tail can make for some really cool customs with the other Origins Mer-Man figures like I showed! Thanks for watching and sharing your comments 👍

I don't collect the cartoon line but I got a filmation Merman yesterday
I think the Filmation Mer-Man is kind of cool and really has that nastalgic feel going back to the days of watching that cartoon and collecting the regular vintage figures as kids. I pretend my cartoon Merman is a savage brute in my origins collection instead of a bumbling fool like the cartoon made him out to be many times. Great pickup on the figure, Rickster 👌

The LoP merman looks like a duck with a shortened bill. He looks goofy as hell lol. A thirty minute drive Walmart, thankfully, stocked both Moss and Mer men lol
Thanks for checking out the review! Lol. It's MOTU. Most of the figures look funny in their own way. That's what made the line fun as kids. I'm guessing you picked up both Mossman and Mer-Man from Walmart?
@Themanchlid I was more into Transformers as a kid so I'm a bit of a new fan of MOTU. And yeah I definitely picked both of them up!
@WhiteLongSword7 I was big into the Vintage MOTU figures as a kid. I had friends who were also big into the Transformers then. You should look into the MOTU Masterverse figures now. That line takes many of the core figures and makes them much more serious. Plus, they are seven inch scale figures.
The Motu Classics was another great line at the time. It took all the vintage inspired Motu figures and also made them very modernized but yet they resembled the vintage designs. The Origins is just sticking to the core vintage designs but with better articulation and sculpts. They are also involved with the Ninja Turtles crossover now. That explains the mutated look for Mer-Man and Mossman in that series as they were infected with the Turtles ooze from Skeletor and Shredder.
