The Dub of this anime is phenomenal! Especially considering it was a time with very little budget for English voice actors. I can't watch it any other way. There are so many voices that are so well suited to their characters it's almost scary. Jin is at the top of that list and my 2nd favourite character because of that. Thanks so much for the nostalgia kick! ❤JIN❤
Risa Lynn The guy who voiced Jin (Jerry Jewell) actually voiced at least 4 other characters throughout the show. If you keep your ears out, you can hear some of them easily
Agree I was curious to see what Jin’s voice was like in Japanese so I looked into and boy did the dub turn a good shounen anime to a top tier anime. The dub gave all the characters much more of a personality.

And a bit of trivia, there was another reason Jin has a Irish accent, along with a few other accents sprinkled throughout the series (Botan's slight British twang, Chu's thick Australian accent etc.) Justin Cook has said that they wanted to infer how huge the demon world really is in YYH, and the easiest way to do this vocally was with accents.
SOooo, there's Demon World Ireland, Demon World Australia and Demon World UK? That's amazing lol Just tells me that the Demon World has pretty similar history to Earth.
The story behind this is in the Japanese version of this Jin speaks with a crazy accent dialect in their language too so when it came to translate it they just said you know what we're just giving them accent so the guy voice in them Jerry Jewell said he'll just go with an Irish accent
Honestly one of my favorite characters. Yes, partly cause of how he talks; But his whole friendly-rival demeanor goes surprisingly really well with it! Such a happy-go-lucky guy with a whimsy to him!
Is it just me or did Togashi intend to add more backstory with this character than what we got? For example when Jin manages to get up at the sky, he acts like he's new to it all. Which makes me wonder if he was in captivity. And personally if the three kings arc had not been rushed, it probably shown more back story to the other characters.

I love Jin, he just gives off a lot of fun and positive vibes. I really want to be his friend, he just seems like a really fun and chill guy to hang out with lol.
No he felt his magical energy and thought it was nice to challenge him. But after feeling his teammate crash he then felt the urge to fight him full on.

He's not actually Irish, that was a translation thing to adapt the regional accent he got in Japanese, but it is rare to hear such an accent regardless.

This guy is one of my favorite anime characters ever. Just started watching My Hero Academia and noticed the principals voice and it reminded me of Gin lol. Jerry Jewell is a good voice actor.
I still love that someone decided that Jin should be Irish as all hell and It makes a ton of sense. Like, those who only watch subbed anime are missing out on absolute gems like this.
Fun fact about this. The voice actor, Jerry Jewell, stated in an interview that his original performance of Jin was too difficult to understand so they asked him to tone the accent down. What we got in the show was him toning it down. lol

I tried to watch it in subs and couldn't finish it. I switched right back to Dubs on my 4th full watch through.

When he points out how pointy his ears are he mentions they get pointy (and wiggle) when he's excited
