@Hifi-Nomad cheap capacitors usually have tin legs and also can vary in tolerance not matched also the sound can sound considerably worse holding back detail space and depth as with upgraded g the littke chord molo proved better caps sound better
Hi! I have this dac and the capacitor c419 is bulged. So i want to replace it. Don't have a clue what's the cause of this is. Age? Faulty power adapter? You know it maybe? Anyway you're talking about some mod/updates and also a "part 3" but couldn't find it. Can you tell me what to replace in this unit to make it better? Many thanks.
@Ronnie hi mate replace all tye power apply capacitors with Panasonic. Fc Build a large Ac power supply for it oversized, say 300 v 12 volts it will fit into the dac, and the dac will convert it to dC

So you do remind 🙏🏼 failure has came slowly (by intermittence) to no sound or a constant beep low level at power on... just opened the box to see visual defects - no signs... think it could come from an electronic relay or so but what do you think... hi mate u will be blown away when a better dac with a better analogue output stage will vastly improve your excellent rotel. I would just mod your rotel if you are happy with it
the missing Wima capacitors were replaced with better capacitors under the board
it's was easier to fit them
What do you class as *"better"* i always read they're the best for signal path under 4.7uf?

Hi m8 replace the caps building caps are failing fix it otherwise the caps could short out

Can you explain mate, why you would want or need a seperate DAC when, my cd player (rotel 965bx) has a built in a bitstream dual DAC..
