I think adding a small powerhead with a foam guard that catches detritus helps keep a tank clear as I noticed with my reef until you clean it but take to long to take it out of the tank and a lot of detritus falls back into the tank

Hi! Just love your aquariums and your three ranchus especially! I live in thailand and goldfish keepers here are absolutely against planted tanks and even those with substrate, which is frustrating for me as I love some greenery in my tank. They think planted tanks and those with substrate create more chances of disease. Anyway, because my fish have been sick, I'm doing away with the substrate but still want to add plants. What types of plants would you recommend for a goldfish tank apart from anubias and java fern? Thanks!
Awesome video 😀new subscriber, can you tell me what kind of tank you have and how many gallon??? What is difference between your filter and fluval 405?? Thank watching you from San Francisco 😀😀😀

Do you recommend heating the water for goldfish? I thought they didn't need heating? I want to get the OASE but was opting for the non heater one for my gold fish tank.
Hi. I am just upgrading tanks and have purchased a 35 gallon tank to stick my 5 goldfish in and want to stick other kinds of fish in. I will keep it as cold water tank with some live plants and would appreciate your opinion on what species I could stick in. Btw I love your videos. I just discovered your channel and have just subscribed. Thanks in advance, and keep the content coming.
Thing is most of the cold water species are fin nippers or kinda agressive and teritirial some of the larger ones but as always you can add corys and bristelnose or as i would like to call them cleanup crew
Great video!! As a noob may i ask a few questions i have 2 goldfishes (orandas) in a 90lt tank. 1) i wanted to have live plants but the guys in the shop restricted me in just anubias and only after i insisted the gave me Vallisneria ‘Natans' . they insisted that goldfish will eat any other plants. can u pls list some goldfish viable plants like the ones you have in the vid(at least the ones u mention here?)?2) i do have some duckweed on my other aquarium . if i add it to the goldfish tank, should i stop feeding them ?i mean it wont be good feeding them too much right? 3) filtration wise i use an eheim classic 250 do you think is enough?thank you so much for all your vids !cheers
Again great video mate. I do have a question...is your "aquarium studio" heated or just well insulated? Also love little festive touch 😉 nothing seems possible without lil glass of bubbly. Much love x
On the set up video you had an AllPondSolutions filter, but in this one you have an Oase. Can you let me know why you swapped, and what the Oase model is? Also, the filter thing in the back right corner of the aquarium was not detailed on the set up video. Can you let me know what that is/does. Cheers!
Hi MD, I'm new to your channel and looking at getting my first tropical fish. Either guppies or a betta. Ive got a 30x30cm tank but I am struggling to find a good heater. Please can you recommend one? I'm going to attempt the aquascaping as you have shown and will also put in a sponge filter. Any tips are appreciated!
How do you keep the sand clean of detritus, etc? Do you do any gravel vacuuming? I'd like to upgrade my goldfish tank to be planted like yours, but I'm concerned about substrate maintenance. I have a Ryukan and a pearl scale. Gulp and Dumpling :D

They think planted tanks and those with substrate create more chances of disease. Anyway, because my fish have been sick, I'm doing away with the substrate but still want to add plants. What types of plants would you recommend for a goldfish tank apart from anubias and java fern? Thanks!
Do you ever clean the algae from the rocks when it gets to much or just let it grow for the natural effect? Love the green look!
Depends on the tank. If it grows, I just let it lol
Looks extreme nice...👍🏻👌🏻
thank you :)
For the black wateraquarium plz add neons because they love black water 😃😃
its possible
Wouldn't temperature be an issue? I'm just guessing because of your selections of cooler water inhabitants.
@@MrLeavemikealone @Alan Mathies Not necessarily. I have glofish tetras with my fancy goldfish. They are happy with the same temps
Alan Mathies like we can use heaters
Great video! What was used as the grey sand substrate in the foreground?
Hello from Arizona, great work, such an inspiration, what size tank is this?? I need 1.
Awesome video 😀new subscriber, can you tell me what kind of tank you have and how many gallon??? What is difference between your filter and fluval 405?? Thank watching you from San Francisco 😀😀😀
So lovely .. ☺🆙✔💯
Blah, blah, blah, yada, yada, yada, 😂
Seriously the little water piglets look happy and sassy, the tank looks great. Hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas. 🎅🎁🎄

@@MDFishTanks okdoky...
I can't have fish tanks or keep fishes cause I don't trust myself that the fishes would even survive with me for a day. 😂😅 So I will enjoy your videos hahahahahha
Your goldies are adorable af
thank you af
I'm new on your channel, your tanks look amazing. Great work
cheers fredy
Do you recommend heating the water for goldfish? I thought they didn't need heating? I want to get the OASE but was opting for the non heater one for my gold fish tank.
Großartig!!
I would just stick with the goldfish to be honest
Thanks. I was afraid you would say so. I guess I will be realistic and do so.
Thing is most of the cold water species are fin nippers or kinda agressive and teritirial some of the larger ones but as always you can add corys and bristelnose or as i would like to call them cleanup crew
Laszlo Szocs thanks for the feedback. Might try that. I’ll get the goldfish settled in first and then look at adding “clean up crew”
What about ur sponge filter? How u maintain it? Does it get clog often? Wheres is ur cannister suction located at ya??
It hasnt clogged yet so I just leave it alone. Canister suction is the opposite side to the sponge.
3) filtration wise i use an eheim classic 250 do you think is enough?thank you so much for all your vids !cheers
for once choclate wasnt stealing all the camera time
I edited him out lol
@@MDFishTanks 😂😂😂 oh goodness! you should make a compilation video of just your fish not cooperating with the shots you want
Again great video mate. I do have a question...is your "aquarium studio" heated or just well insulated? Also love little festive touch 😉 nothing seems possible without lil glass of bubbly. Much love x
haha. Well spotted. The studio is insulated really well and i have a little static oil heater in there.
Hi, friend. When will you make a video again with this species. Goldfish ranch? or lionchu? I hope you consider it. greetings from Mexico
I like your content🤩👍🏻
thank you

Look for internet nano heater
I have a cheap eheim jager on my 180l tank, three years without an issue so far just way too complicated to set up the first time
Cold you make a video about your expierience with transparent silcon tank? Some people say it would be white in month. Right!?!?
im not sure how interesting that video would be haha. but no, all my tanks are transparent silicon and they have not gone white.
Love your videos man!!!!! 4 fingers 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
haha. Thanks
Pumpkin is my favourite
