I picked up a pair of these around 2-3 weeks ago and there are just two things that I'd like to mention that I see left out of a lot of videos. First things first, if you're a mega nerd with enough self confidence to rock slightly larger glasses, GlassesUSA does make prescription lenses for these frames! I purchases a transition pair of lenses for around $100 (they were having some sort of sale, but I'm sure it goes on sale all the time)! Another HUGE thing to note! Bose AR is NOT currently available for all the Android Bros out there! I repeat, if you are buying these for the cool AR experience, Android is not yet supported! If you guys have any other questions about the glasses I own just reply down below and I'll answer them from an Android perspective and using them with prescription lenses!

Very good review. I received the Bose Altos as a gift and have been really enjoying them, even indoors. I just tilt them up on top of my head and bump up the volume to compensate. I like the fact that I can still hear what is around me, and yet hear good quality sound. These are NOT a replacement for headphones or ear buds, but they do offer you another way to enjoy your audio entertainment.

As a follow-up, I'm still using these regularly, when I go out for walks or when we go to the pool (I don't go underwater). The battery life is the only real downside, and still, they'll last a couple of hours.

Ive had a pair of Rondos for about a year now. They added volume now - so you press the button and turn your head to the right for more or left for less. The sound quality is great - I listen to podcasts mainly or radio . Music is still great but as you know - the bass is not as strong as AirPods or over the ear headphones - I have another pair for music if I want more bass. So - I think they are great and I use them when walking the dog - have taken phone calls and no problems there either. Charging is ok as I charge when I finish using them so they are ready to go next time - I agree - run time could be a little longer but not a deal breaker for me - I also bought the polarised lenses - all good. i think an improvement would be to have the case have a battery with a little charging cable inside to give ya top up througout the day , ya go inside or go in shade pop them in to get a couple more hours out of them later

Extremely happy BUT buy with an extended warranty. my Alto frames malfunctioned a year after purchase. I had full replacement as I bought them with an extended warranty.
Great review and very informative. I have 2 questions if you don't mind: 1) Lenses - if I swap them out for prescription/transition lenses, will it void the warranty? 2) Discoloration - based on your usage/experience, have you noticed any discoloration from the inside of the temple/stems of the frames due to sweat? Appreciate your inputs. Thanks in advance
I don't believe it voids the warranty, because Bose sells replacement lenses, with instructions on how to change them. Definitely read through the fine print before doing anything with 3rd party lenses, but as far as I'm aware, it should be safe.
I haven't noticed any discoloration yet, but I've only been using them for a few weeks.

What if you decide to wear the shades on your head, how is the sound quality then?

I've been using that feature, and it works pretty well. Unfortunately, it wasn't available when I filmed this in July 2019. They added the feature in March 2020.
So the AR features are completely gone now??
I just purchased these and was disappointed to see that they stop the features.
