Joker 2 is not the last chance, is Superman by James Gunn

10-15 years ago, I felt like I NEEDED to see every Marvel/DC movie that came out. I grew up with those characters in print and in animation. But I couldn't catch every episode of every cartoon or every issue of every comic I wanted, for reasons of time and money. As a child in 1975, I had a modest allowance from my father and could only afford 4-5 comics a month at 25 cents per issue. Even then, I had a completionist instinct. It bothered me that I couldn't afford every issue of Batman or The Avengers.
Several years ago, I saw the quality era of comic book films coming to an end. I hope the new Deadpool and Joker movies uphold the qualities of their predecessors. But I'm less inclined to see them at the cinema. In the age of streaming, I am content to wait and watch at home. Do something impressive, filmmakers. Show us you care. Produce quality product for your audience and not for yourselves. Otherwise, I'll save my quarters for something other than cinematic comic books.

Optimistic 🤔 that’s surprising … because the hoops I think they need to leap through (Marvel/DC/SONY) is a notch below Global Brainwashing 😅
BUT! I do have a great deal of hope for the Independent Market of Critique & Content Creation. The tools that they have AT THEIR FINGERTIPS are Unprecedented.
Heaven Bless the Cobblers of the Future.

Going to predict ’Joker 2’ is going to be awful it should have been one-of-one and usherd in a new age of DC films being unique, stylish, director led films not beholden to a multi-verse. With Joker 2, can’t remember who said it but they said it looked like the musicals and the normal film were done separately. I think this was them *making* a film that was entirely a musical, saw the fan opinions and then started to course-correct with what they had. It remains to be seen, might be they hired two directors and had an idea to have the two styles “dance” with each other for lack of a better word but … wait for reviews is all I’m saying.
As for Marvel, they’re trying to go forwards in reverse. Deadpool won’t save them, might have done a decade ago but not any more and it’s success will only spawn more films where they kick a dead, pulped horse. They need to adapt something from left-field to bring normal people back to Marvel, maybe something horror related and stay away from forcing the audience to do some homework before seeing.

Joker 2 as musical turned me off, seeing the prediction of Harlequin as girl boss I lost the hope I didn’t have. Deadpool doesn’t give me hope, especially now that they want to have Punisher hating on cops about his symbol
