Sorry Sargon but I have to clear some things up. Venezuela's economy has been in a downward spiral since the 1950's after right wing dictator Marcos Perez Jimenez was deposed in a coup. Chavez and now Maduro have only accelerated the process. Their boneheaded socialist policies have been huge culprits, but there is a deeper and more endemic problem in Venezuela. Too many Venezuelans have a mentality of having things handed down to them and taking the easy road. It's largely a result of the oil bonanza that the country enjoyed, refusing to diversify the economy due to everything being cheaper to import. The country has been ransacked by countless corrupt politicians who pocketed the profits from public infrastructure projects that never got finished or were done on the cheap to skim off the profits from contractor kickbacks, which quickly fell apart. In 1992 there was a massive outbreak of looting due to then president Carlos Andres Perez' mismanagement and theft, for which he was eventually imprisoned and later released. This was the time that Chavez made his appearance by participating in a failed coup to overthrow the government, for which he was imprisoned, only to be released as a gesture of goodwill by president Rafael Caldera in 1994, a move that we all later regretted. Chavez ran for president in 1998 and won by a landslide, promising to end corruption once and for all, but ironically ushering in the country's most corrupt period, the fruits of which you see today. Venezuela was at its most prosperous ironically during right wing dictator Marco's Perez Jimenez' strict management. Most of the country's lasting infrastructure was made during his time. Oil profits were reinvested in the economy to a degree that would be unheard of today, and private industry boomed. Ironically it was the following 40 years of democracy that turned the country into a shadow of its former self. Unfortunately Chavez was his polar opposite, making all previous politicians look positively saintly by comparison. Chavez DID spend money on the poor, but this was mostly given away rather than invested. He also built allies in the region by giving oil away, most notably to Cuba, who relies heavily on it. But he built no industries. He "approved" countless budgets for public projects which never materialized. Nearly every factory he confiscated was never put to work, they were gutted and sold for parts. Imported food was left to rot in ports because it was cheaper and easier to not transport it. So yes socialism has been the nail in the coffin for us, but the previous years under unbridled capitalism and democracy did not unfold as you might have thought, after all there's a reason why Chavez won fair and square the first time around. Luckily I've been living in the UK for the past 7 years thanks to my job and my German citizenship on my father's side and don't need to worry too much.
Nick Foo Why is "unbridled capitalism" a state where the people "have a mentality of things being handed down to them," a "country that has been ransacked by countless corrupt politicians who pocketed the profits from public infrastructure projects that never got finished or were done on the cheap to skim off the profits from contractor kickbacks," and where there was "a massive outbreak of looting due to the President's mismanagement and theft"? Why isn't "unbridled capitalism" a condition where there is, as Thomas Jefferson put it, "a wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government" and which follows Benjamin Franklin's advice when he says "I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion about the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it"?
I'm not arguing against capitalism. I was just pointing out the specific case of Venezuela, where capitalism and democracy didn't turn out to work so well, and landed us in a totalitarian socialism, which has turned out to be worse. And I believe all of these failures have come as a result of a general mindset prevalent in the country, which leads to extremely opportunistic and corrupt attitudes, where very few believe in cooperation with your fellow citizens, and where there is very little trust among people. No one entrusted with the funds to build a bridge will do a good job simply because they think "well there's no use in building a proper bridge, because the rest of the country is a shit hole and everyone is in it for themselves anyway, I might as well treat myself to an expensive Yacht and enjoy life". There is very little sense of community and genuine pride in a functioning country. You can sense that from the way people litter on the streets and run red lights, people don't like to follow the rules over there, everyone is always taking shortcuts. That is part of the sickness that has prevented capitalism from reaching its true potential over there and has made socialism much worse. It's not the sort of general attitude you'd get from people in a country like Germany, where people are incredibly high in conscientiousness and believe every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Would you build a telephone line if you thought someone would immediately steal the cables the next day? Would you paint the walls if you knew someone would immediately spray it with cheap graffiti the next day? This type of thing is at the heart of the Venezuelan crisis. I know it's the kind of thing that happens everywhere in the world, but it all comes down to a matter of degrees. If that degree is too severe then people lose trust in each other and the country suffers for it.
"Venezuela isn't socialist it has markets and private property." Private property cannot be appropriated by the state without due process, ergo your claim is bollocks. Markets must exist for any goods and services to change hands in any socioeconomic system. Free markets are the hallmark of capitalism, price controls and a lack of free enterprise are not. btw, for $50 I can sell you a clue.
el Looto first off Venezuela has private property, there still are privately owned companies and industries so I don't know what your trying to argue by saying due process. For profit driven markets aren't the same as a share(gift) economy or a planned economy both of which are socialist. Venezuela still operates under this profit motive so yes it's capitalist, regulation and state ownership are not socialism. "Free markets are a hallmark of capitalism" Lmao ya a hallmark that since capitalism's birth has never existed as all markets have some sort of regulation(US had price controls during ww2 does that make us socialist?), unless you argue the point that's not Real Capitalism which in that case I have news for you it is.
I'm always reminded of a quote from Ronald Reagan, speaking about a Russian joke: "A Russian worker is talking to another worker, and he says "Is this it, is this true communism, have we made it?". And his friend replies "Oh no, it's going to get a lot worse""
John Adams I like the one where the Russian and the American are talking about their own countries: American says, "I can go into the oval office and tell the president, 'I don't like the way you're running this country!' " Russian replies, "I can do that, too." American, "You can?" Russian, "Yes. I can go into Gorbachev's office and tell him, 'I don't like the way Reagan is running that country!' " ... Nothing to add, just the joke.
A man from the Soviet Union obtains a permit to move to the USA, and his new neighbor asks how he much he likes his new apartment, so he asks him what his apartment was like back in Russia. “Oh, my old apartment was perfect. I could not complain.” So his neighbor then asks him what his job was like back home. “Oh, my old job was perfect. I could not complain.” So the neighbor asks him what the food was like back in the USSR. “Oh, the food was perfect. I could not complain.” Puzzled, the neighbor finally asks him, if everything was so great in the Soviet Union, why did he move? The man says, “Here I can complain.”
Well clearly she has one, she walks, she talks (albeit foolishly) noises fall out of her head and occasionally sentences are formed to say she's better than everyone else, and stroke the cack of Marx, Stalin, & Lenin in a decomposing dictatorial circle jerk.
Any 'pure' system based on any idea or plan is going to be pretty terrible. One of the beautiful things about capitalism is that it's a system which can easily work within or alongside other systems whereas communism requires some form of authoritarianism in order to implement and therefore must diminish or eliminate other systems in order to operate.
Nathan Holstrom the horrible fact is that it's true. There was a LOT of literature published by Jews in Germany after WWI talking about how the German male was responsible for all the ills facing Germany. Some even talked about forced sterilization. Now, why does that sound familiar...?
for real socialism you need that "new socialist man" - otherwise it can't work *g socialist logic... not the ideology is wrong - the people have to be wrong, they don't fit in properly...
To be honest I think Cenk would have liked to have a chat with Sargon, but he didn't because he knew he'd have to face the music from Ana if she found out! : )
"8 million government employees" A quick Google search reveals that the total population of Venezuela is about 31.57 million. This means that 25.3% of the entire population of Venezuela works for the government. I think we just found out where the support of the vote came from.
23:46 Cenk said 2.8 million state employees. Sargon didn't pay attention. Granted, even 2.8 million is probably a ridiculous number of state employees.
41.5% did vote in the election. That is counting the 100 deaths the terrorists did during the last 4 months, the terrorist patroling the streets with explosives to attak posible voters, and the death threats to anyone who dared going to vote
Right now, in Norway, we also have a "financial crisis" in the oil sector. In other words, we are tested on the EXACT same things as Venezuela. However, we are instead doing just fine or even great. And do you know why? Because the privat sector picks up the slack. Last year there was a total loss of 60 000 jobs in the oil sector, all while the construction industry had an increase of 80 000 jobs. There has never been built more (on land) since the 70s, and while the Western parts of the country (oil dominated) is in a stagnation, the East is booming (including the capital). We often view the state financials and privat sector as two legs, where if one weakens, then the other should carry more of the weight (temporarily), and together you walk forward unscathed. During the global financial crisis of 2008, Norway was never impacted either, because the state invested into projects that kept the the economy going. This were things like rehabilitation of existing structures, building public structures, infrastructure, (re-)education programs, innovation, research, startup entrepreneur helping investments, etc. However, notice that all of these are necessary eventually, but to heavily invest during a lack of faith in the privat market is the time to do it. This is because you can get it all really cheap, basically causing the privat sector to survive, yet not become dependent on those public projects (break even). During this "oil crisis" however, we are yet again not impacted, as we don't intervene and let the market correct itself. That is the important part. Don't invest into losing projects, find or create a new demand, adapt! Loss of jobs in an overstimulated industry is necessary at times (we predicted this), while there are other sectors we could use the workforce (we knew that as well). If industry A falters, we got plan B, C, D --> Z (at which point we all go fishing, poor yes, but alive). The backup idea is whatever the market dictates of highest value, and sometimes you must move from high profit to mediocre (or even low) profit, before you hopefully can bounce back once again. The oil industry was/is just a temporarily cash cow, and we've been aware of that for decades (we are milking it dry, while slowly readjusting the education programs in school for the future/expected demand). We've also learned from the mistakes of others, like the Dutch disease, and understand economy/inflation (funnily enough, our high ranking politicians are almost exclusively engineers and economists, even within the labor party). Further on, even if our "state run" businesses in the oil sector has done much for us, it means nothing if we are unwilling to let it go when it's no longer profitable. It would then turn into a money-sink that lose all our profits in an attempts to save it. All the state owned businesses are run like private enterprises here, and if they go too much in the red they'd be terminated like any other business. If state finances can carry you through a privat market crisis of irrational fear and lack of investment, and the privat market can carry you through a necessity for correction or change, then you can never become paralyzed. However, if you insist on shooting yourself in whatever foot because you perhaps view one as worse than the other, then you'll find yourself stumbling and falling down whenever you get slightly off-balance. If the foot you shot is the left one (public's), then you'll fall down to plan G or H, as you're right (privat market) foot got better balance and ability to re-adjust. If you shot yourself in your right (main) foot, then you'll be lucky to if you manage to organize a plan Z instead of breaking your neck, because your very clumsy on that left foot, just like everyone else.
There's also much fewer people in Norway. The population of Norway is about 5 million. (Half of the people living in Chicago) with a GDP of 370.6 billion. Venezuela has a population of 31.57 million people with a GDP of 371 billion. (Brought up Chicago to describe the size of Norway, so for the sake of completion GDP of Illinois is 609.6 billion)
Ein Mugen Tenshin what is this norway you speak of? do you mean the Islamic republic of nordicstan by chance? I think that's who you are talking about.
Thanatos "the state doesn't produce anything" It does when the state controls state-owned businesses. The oil industry in Norway is nationalised. Lots of industries internationally are nationalised, like the rail network or communications, it just happens to be that often these are businesses where it's harder to make money.
Corbyn understands the need for both private & government investment. US & UK are rich countries so why is there so much poverty?. 40 years of Thatcherism & Reaganomics has resulted in the trickle up reality of economics. The rich get richer while every fucker else struggles.
Poverty? Don't you mean 'inequality'? And I'm guessing Corbyn is too busy deleting his previous tweets about the Venezuelan socialist economic miracle to be sending any more.
Everyone else is still completely allowed to go get a job at walmart and save money to buy their own industry, or work hard and become the manager. If you're poor then fix the problem, pay for your children's education, or don't have kids so poverty dies out.
11:10 Oh god, that's so true. Norway also had a massive oil boom, and exists in a much poorer climate, AND still ended up a wealthy country thanks to capitalism
...which is severely devalued down trending hard compared to the ISK (EVE online currency) ...even Black Desert silver is guaranteed to inflate slower than WOW gold has (Wow gold inflated about 10,000% from month 1 vanilla)
I’m from Trinidad, a country, economically structured around oil and right next to Venezuela, but we’re capitalists, so we are just in a ressesion while oil prices are down, not revolution.
You guys are going to need a more varied economy. Oil won't deviate much from its current price until it falls and stays down. We are probably at or very near peak demand for oil. OPEC and Russia couldn't crush American shale oil. Affordable EVs that can charge quickly are coming and within a decade there will be less oil used than today, even after including China, India, etc
Solar is on its way down to 4 cents per kwh in the next 5 years. It costs 3 cents per kwh just to transmit power over high voltage lines. Centralized powerplants will not be able to compete. Coal, Oil, Natural Gas, and Nuclear power will be all but finished in 25 years.
"They were too reliant on importing products. They stopped making and manufacturing products in their own country." Did Ana just make the MAGA argument? I think she did.
You mean smoke and ash? The only way they got "out" was with massive deficit spending, stop pretending it wasn't. They balanced the books with other nation's monies and buying their goods while occupying them with overinflated Reichmarks. There's a great book called "Hitler's Beneficiaries" by Götz Aly, please read it.
I hurt my stomach laughing so hard at her myopic non-analysis of what is obvious to any non-partisan adult. MOTIVATION is what makes humans, you know, DO things, but take away the motivation and... expect them to still do the same stuff, yeah sure!
It wasn't a grenade into a helicopter, it was grenades dropped from a helicopter on to a government building. Think ghetto airstrike from a helo and a guy hanging out of it dropping hand grenades.
That sounds badass, but also sad that it exists outside of imagination. Ghetto airstrikes. www.theguardian.com/world/video/2017/jun/28/venezuela-says-supreme-court-attacked-from-helicopter-video
"82% of Venezuelan are below the poverty line". Socialists probably will say that to fix that they need MORE socialism and in a way they are right. A little more socialism and they might actually reach equality with 100% of the population being below the poverty line.
bluetrilobite The party leaders won't drop below the poverty line ever. Doesn't matter how many people starve in the streets. Talk about wealth inequality and the 1%...
Honestly, to be fair, I'm pretty sure I've heard Sargon advocate for minimum wage too. So this criticism really applies to both of them (unless I'm wrong in which case I apologise to you Mr Carlos Benjamino).
I think Sargon's more on the Socialist side, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Which really is what I dislike about Sargon: he still has a little "if it sounds good it must be good" in him. Which I think, if he realized, would be the point where he'd realize he actually isn't a Liberal.
Oil goes down and apparently everyone starves, oh wait, Chile and Argentina don't have nearly as much oil and they're living much better, wonder why? Weird how Saudi Arabia, Canada, the US, Iran, The UAE, and Russia don't look like Venezuela..
Ok, "View all replies" apparently clears the comment which is being written... Issues with dependancy on Russian gas was a big thing in Poland for a very long time. Especially after Russians increased the prices of gas for Ukraine after Orange Revolution like a decade ago or so. We were considering building a pipe through Baltic Sea to get a supply of norwegian gas. Then there was a problem with Russia and Germany building their pipe through Baltic Sea over our heads. And gas pipes can't be crossed or some shit. Later we found deposits of shale gas in Poland. It was promising but process of extracting it was said to be quite high tech and expensive (at least comparing to traditional gas). We hoped for a better tech to arrive soon. Then corrupt government of that time (Civil Platform) apparently sold off access to deposits to foreign companies. Probly less dependant on Russian gas, but i don't think we are main benefactor of those deposits. Also... we don't have oil. Please don't invade. Our democracy is fine. We will get rid of Law and Justice party. We just overshooted with votes when we wanted to get rid of Civil Platform.
Canada is the second largest oil producing country in the world. When oil prices went down it caused a recession in Alberta, but the rest of Canada was fine.
I'm Dis-appropriating as I outrank you in the Party, comrade. If you disagree I will convince a loon to cave your head in with an ice pick, after a show trial, of course.
Like so Sargon can see the answer to his question at 9:33 It was John Locke in the second treatise of government who said that the right and obligation of revolution was a necessary safeguard against Tyranny. "And thus the community perpetually retains a supreme power of saving themselves from the attempts and designs of anybody, even of their legislators, whenever they shall be so foolish, or so wicked, as to lay and carry on designs against the liberties and properties of the subject". (Second Treatise, Chapter 13). "But if a long train of abuses, prevarications and artifices, all tending the same way, make the design visible to the people, and they cannot but feel, what they lie under, and whither they are going, 'tis not to be wondered, that they should then rouse themselves, and endeavour to put the rule into such hands, which may secure to them the ends for which government was at first enacted". (Second Treatise, Chapter 19). It's shit like this that makes John Locke one of my favorite philosophers and easily my favorite political philosopher.
I don't understand how anybody can actually watch TYT. I feel like the back of the short bus has just got in front of a camera. I get the impression that as soon as the cameras get turned off they pull their helmets up from under the desk so they don't get hurt.
Gee I wonder what could have been the cause of Venezuela's downfall ???? Hmmm I guess we will never know. "Now let's make Communism Great Again" TYT 2017
+Seppuku They did exactly the same to Socrates. He simply acknowledged the fact that slaves are treated like tools... and some people pinned the mindset on him.
Thanks so much for "translating" their vaccuous soundbites and slogans! It must have been quite painful to listen to them for more than 10 seconds at a time and not scream at your monitor a very simple logical response to their continual... shall we say confusion?
It amazed me during the run-up to our elections the Bernie Sanders campaign was doing so well literally right as Venezuela began to nose-dive. I was constantly telling people to GO LOOK AT VENEZUELA!!!!
Sanders called himself a socialist, but never advocated for mass nationalization of various industries. People, including Sargon, are using the word "socialist" for a catch all term for policies they don't like (some actually socialist, some not), while excluding things like universal health care, large subsidies, and a welfare state that many socialists would identify as socialist. The conversation has devolved into blaming things on socialism without ever defining what that actually means. In the US, calling yourself a socialist usually just means advocating for the establishment of a welfare state (hell, I've seen people call themselves that for merely advocating for universal healthcare). The ones that want nationalization are a minority of self-identified socialists, in my experience. Regardless, the meaning of that term has become so muddled that it's basically meaningless at this point. Blaming the outcome of Venezuela on socialism doesn't tell anyone anything about what actually went wrong. Did their economy collapse because of too many subsidies and universal healthcare? I'm pretty sure not. I think you can point to more specific causes than just "socialism".
XetXetable I can understand your point of view. As far as I can tell , the troubles in Venezuela are primarily (not all but most) caused by the policies that began during the socialist revolution . As for a catch-all phrase, socialism is a governing term where all means of production are owned (or regulated) by "the community". So you're right, those like Sanders and Maduro and Chevez use the term incorrectly- because NOTHING in a "Socialist" government belongs to the People
Never mind when Sanders entered politics in Vermont he was calling on the state to confiscate the property of the privately owned power company including the personal property of its CEO. He also said that Castro was a personal hero of his and would avoid the question when asked about it.
Inflation is caused when the money supply is raised....(more money printed and put into circulation). In-case you do not know--when more of something is made available , the less valuable it becomes.
Shawn M ... I didn't say anything about Hyperinflation.. and to the others, there are many factors that go into affecting inflation.. I was merely listing one of them, that in my opinion, is prominent. An example of my previous comment being when Germany at the end of World War II ended up printing shit tons of money to pay off its debts but the massive printing ended up devaluing their currency heavily. I believe to compensate their oil shortage they might have printed off money to stem the short-term bleeding of their economy. :)
Money in a vault has no value. When you take it out of the vault and try to exchange it, that causes inflation. Venezuela increased their money supply by 400%, with no corresponding increase in GDP. A surefire recipe for hyperinflation - tradingeconomics.com/venezuela/money-supply-m2
like the Weimar republic in Germany before the war, inflation caused prices for goods to skyrocket. during a single day, a loaf of bread would go from 1000 marks (German dollar at the time) to 1500 marks. a cup of coffee at a diner would cost 2000 marks. people barely made enough in a week to afford a loaf of bread and some ham or cheese. even though prices went up, wages couldn't keep up.
I think Venezuela needs a 1 hour video on the main channel, its an example of the corrupt ideology of latinamerican socialism, again I can help you out, I live the nightmare every day ,at least until I starve or the government kills everyone, it's both fascinating and terrifying to study political science in this country
ElielFenrir I can help him out too. I've been waiting for him to talk about it because it is what most progressives see as an example of liberal societies when in reality, it is the opposite. I have info if he needs them since I'm always checking out what the people in Venezuela are saying, the activist, the opposition, but I'm sure he can manage.
Billi Jinnie I have confidence that he can do a good research, but you now there are somethings that don't get to the international media, and most of the relevant articles are written in Spanish, the ones the give important details. glad to know I'm not the only interested in the subject, we need all the help we can get
LOL I like how Chenk says "Price controls are a terrible economic policy!" and during politicon against Shapiro he goes "One of the things we didn't like about Obama care were no Price controls!" My eyes are rolling so hard they are on the floor.
DR. F.U. also InfoWars drop knowledge bombs on you sometimes you leave their shell shocked with the new knowledge you have gained from the knowledge bombs

I think somebody (maybe Stefan Molyneux) said something to the effect that communism predictably fails at the word 'bread'. Wish I could find the quote.
Well, Brazil is one of the largest economies, but that is almost by chance, because our economy is fucked up. Pick one huge economy, jam a lot of socialist policies and cascading taxes in every step of our production and activites, all aimed to finance a huge bureaucratic machine that gives nothing back to the population, except some crumbs to the poorest, while keeping the socialist elite and friends wealthy. Brazil was well on it's way to the same path Venezuela took, but our Workers Party fucked up, got too greedy and Dilma got impeached and Lula was convicted recently on one of the several ongoing investigations. Edit: It was so on the way to the same path as Venezuela, that Dilma tried to instate the "Communes" with the non-elected representatives of the people actually taking over the administration of the country/companies/etc. Brazil is the best case to justify not letting liberals run your country with their imbecile communist policies...Well, besides Venezuela...
I've kinda given up on seeing Brazil prosper in my life time(or even my grandchildren for that matter). The culture is excessively rotten. Remember those times a couple years ago when buying dollars was really cheap, 2:1? Yeah I'm not counting on seeing that again at least for the next 20 years. I've come to terms with the fact it won't become a sustainable, reliable economy. Those days of high value currency were but a dream, they weren't reality. A quick look at how brief it was in historic terms says a lot
Orwell n goode had a stream and had a Venezuelan doctor on, can you interview him too? There's also a Discord with Venezuelans so the guys can invite you to ask some questions, including the Pinochet question.
I recommend, Socialism: An Economic and Sociological Analysis, by Ludwig von Mises, first published in 1922, for more on the inevitability of economic failure in countries under socialism.
ann coulter destroyed ana kasparian in a debate without even trying as well. ann stayed calm and stated facts, ana was of course emotional and spewed false info. at one point she even got flustered and called ann a racist and didnt have a response when ann asked for proof of her claim
Except scandinavian system is a capitalist framework with certain socialist aspects inside that framework. I would like to see any of you giving 75%+ of your income towards taxes.
Milad Chow In terms of total spending you are almost correct, the real number is around 60 percent. However both SS and Medicare have their own funding separate from the rest of the federal budget for the most part. Look at your pay stub for the evidence. In terms of discretionary spending Medicare gets 6 percent of the federal budget and SS gets around 3 percent while the Military gets 54 percent. These numbers vary from year to year. All I know is we don't need to spend almost 600 billion a year on the military for wars without end for the profit of the military industrial corporations.
It's like that board game where you have to describe something without using the words on the card - Words here are oppression, dictator and socialist.
Multi Meter Love tacos and burritos. My ship pulled into San Diego to pick up the air wing. They had a taco truck waiting at the pier. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. It was like seeing the promise land. Huge tacos and burritos for cheap. My colon hated me that night.
Dude, South America man, no tacos, heck don't even like jalapenos and not sure what's the big deal about Mexican food that Americans are obsessed about.
There is no fundamental difference between socialism and corporatism, especially if small private business is permitted in a socialist system. The only critical difference is that socialism has a single point of failure, corporatism has few.
Socialism = government owns the means of production. Corporatism = government owned by special interest groups. They are not comparable or the same thing. They can exist independently. Have no bearing on business. Corporatism has nothing to do with corporations or capitalism.
Socialism: government owns the means of production and government bureaucracy controls the economy. Corporatism: corporations own the means of production (pretty much all of them) and the government, corporate bureaucracy controls the economy. In both cases the economy is controlled by top-heavy, insulated bureaucratic institutions.
Unfortunately Chavez was his polar opposite, making all previous politicians look positively saintly by comparison.

Why is "unbridled capitalism" a state where the people "have a mentality of things being handed down to them," a "country that has been ransacked by countless corrupt politicians who pocketed the profits from public infrastructure projects that never got finished or were done on the cheap to skim off the profits from contractor kickbacks," and where there was "a massive outbreak of looting due to the President's mismanagement and theft"?
Nick Foo Venezuela isn't socialist it has markets and private property.
"Venezuela isn't socialist it has markets and private property."
Private property cannot be appropriated by the state without due process, ergo your claim is bollocks.

Liberty Prime we need you more than ever Prime, how is your communism detector?
Savage.
Can we go take TYT's studio over and claim it is for the people?
Jaxson Fanta ok but you'll have to take cenk too
I'm always reminded of a quote from Ronald Reagan, speaking about a Russian joke:
"A Russian worker is talking to another worker, and he says "Is this it, is this true communism, have we made it?". And his friend replies "Oh no, it's going to get a lot worse""
The best part about that joke is that it's an actual joke from Russia, told by the Russian people to one another
John Adams I like the one where the Russian and the American are talking about their own countries: American says, "I can go into the oval office and tell the president, 'I don't like the way you're running this country!' "
Russian replies, "I can do that, too."
American, "You can?"
Russian, "Yes. I can go into Gorbachev's office and tell him, 'I don't like the way Reagan is running that country!' "
... Nothing to add, just the joke.
A man from the Soviet Union obtains a permit to move to the USA, and his new neighbor asks how he much he likes his new apartment, so he asks him what his apartment was like back in Russia.
“Oh, my old apartment was perfect. I could not complain.”
So his neighbor then asks him what his job was like back home.
“Oh, my old job was perfect. I could not complain.”
So the neighbor asks him what the food was like back in the USSR.
“Oh, the food was perfect. I could not complain.”
Puzzled, the neighbor finally asks him, if everything was so great in the Soviet Union, why did he move?
The man says, “Here I can complain.”

"But it isn't socialism's fault"
NJOverclocked
When I was in elementary school in America it was common consensus that communism, sounds good, but can’t work in real life.
Seeing I know what communism looks like because my country was under it, I would take captilism over communism ANY day.
Socialism breeds corruption ... it is the same shit with eastern Europe. Where you have the stench of socialism you have very corrupted societies.
Shame commies refuse to factor any real world examples of Communism in to their blinkered worldview.

"8 million government employees"
A quick Google search reveals that the total population of Venezuela is about 31.57 million. This means that 25.3% of the entire population of Venezuela works for the government. I think we just found out where the support of the vote came from.
Jacob W that is more than 50% of working popluation adults. Still deserve to eat dogs. They voted for this

Cenk said 2.8 million state employees. Sargon didn't pay attention.
Granted, even 2.8 million is probably a ridiculous number of state employees.
Shadow Hedgehog oh I misheard him.

Makes me wonder what those oil states in the Middle East are going to do once the liquid gold runs out...

Thanatos "the state doesn't produce anything"
It does when the state controls state-owned businesses. The oil industry in Norway is nationalised. Lots of industries internationally are nationalised, like the rail network or communications, it just happens to be that often these are businesses where it's harder to make money.
👍 *I saw "TYT Explains..." and I immediatley grabbed my popcorn and snuggled in to prepare for a good many hearty laughs.*
I wonder what Comrade Corbyn thinks of this situation. Probably applauds the vote as a victory for the people.
One of the newspaper headlines this morning says Labour MPs are calling for him to condemn it. Personally I'm not gonna be holding my breath
Best comment of this day!

That sounds badass, but also sad that it exists outside of imagination. Ghetto airstrikes.

"82% of Venezuelan are below the poverty line".
Socialists probably will say that to fix that they need MORE socialism and in a way they are right. A little more socialism and they might actually reach equality with 100% of the population being below the poverty line.
bluetrilobite
The party leaders won't drop below the poverty line ever. Doesn't matter how many people starve in the streets.
Talk about wealth inequality and the 1%...
bluetrilobite 99% because you can't expect Maduro and his supporters to not have food.
bluetrilobite But is it really poverty if everyone is poor? You could look at it as if everybody is rich (in relation to the country)

"Price controls don't work" and "we love minimum wage". Minimum wage is a price control. Pick one.
So, your sayint the Buffalo is a.... Hypocrite?
Pfff, that's not what a reeaaalllll hypocrite would say

Because they weren't relying on it? I'm from Poland. We don't have any oil. If oil prices would go to zero it wouldn't hit our economy, wonder why lol
+Fartuess Poland has a decent amount of oil and gas.. What do you think would happen if Russia cut off its natural gas, or doubled the price?
I M A G I N E M Y S H O C K

Like so Sargon can see the answer to his question at 9:33
It was John Locke in the second treatise of government who said that the right and obligation of revolution was a necessary safeguard against Tyranny.

I think Sargon borrowed Mister Metokurs mic for this video : )

At 7:09 that World of Warcraft joke got you a like :]
I think it would be a top meme if you started streaming playing Mercenaries 2 whilst commenting on what's happening in Venezuela
When less resources become available, the money is not backed by anything causing inflation.
Shawn M

TIME TO WRITE A BOOK
Billi Jinnie I have confidence that he can do a good research, but you now there are somethings that don't get to the international media, and most of the relevant articles are written in Spanish, the ones the give important details. glad to know I'm not the only interested in the subject, we need all the help we can get
Fact: Kasparian produces 2 pounds of body hair per month.
I didn't even know you had another channel until you mentioned it recently, and here it pops up in my feed.
"The 30%" 8 million state workers is 25% of Venezuela's population of 31.7 million.

LOL I like how Chenk says "Price controls are a terrible economic policy!" and during politicon against Shapiro he goes "One of the things we didn't like about Obama care were no Price controls!" My eyes are rolling so hard they are on the floor.

I think somebody (maybe Stefan Molyneux) said something to the effect that communism predictably fails at the word 'bread'. Wish I could find the quote.
Fantastic audio m8
TYT = The Onion of RUclips
Except the Onion is more credible. LOL
💯😂
The onion is at least self aware
Alexandra Top Kek, mate 😀
Cenk is crazier than Alex Jones.
Never watched this much of TYT. Want this time of my life returned. Ty

The Thinkery he got dabbed on x 💯wagwan
He can't access his Google account.
Like the layout with Sargon Window. Don't know the term obviously but it is good to see his reactions
Honestly i would love to see Sargon and PJW on the same stream. Would be fun to watch Kraut burst a blood vessle
Orwell n goode had a stream and had a Venezuelan doctor on, can you interview him too? There's also a Discord with Venezuelans so the guys can invite you to ask some questions, including the Pinochet question.
Yeah Venezuela is failing, but Venezuala's socialism is *reeeeeeeeal* socialism. (here we go again)
Venezuelans are exchanging rare Pepes encypted with bitcoin lmao
HA.... I didn't know Coke Cola death squads existed,....... I'll have to keep that in mind when I buy my next Pepsi.
What's the difference between Venezuela and a pizza pie?
The pizza can feed a whole family.
I recommend, Socialism: An Economic and Sociological Analysis, by Ludwig von Mises, first published in 1922, for more on the inevitability of economic failure in countries under socialism.
"I" blame "We."
Every-time he pauses the video i can’t help but laugh at Anna’s face 😂 😂 😂
Ben Shapiro destroyed ol Chenk at politicon recently. TYT are a joke, keep us laughing!
Dr Blue yeah it wasn't so bad until cenk tried peer pressuring the audience by chanting "America" lmao
I was surprised when i saw "Jew Rapes Buffalo on stage" on pornhub and got a politicion debate
ann coulter destroyed ana kasparian in a debate without even trying as well. ann stayed calm and stated facts, ana was of course emotional and spewed false info. at one point she even got flustered and called ann a racist and didnt have a response when ann asked for proof of her claim
Here you go, this is what communo-socialism looks like folks, choose wisely!
Good review. Why am I thinking that TYT equals, The Young Turds. Where does this mindless TURKEY COME FROM?
The Turks were human rights champions, they invented brothels filled with sex slaves before it was popular.
Can hardly tell if that's really Cenk and Ana or just another Crowder parody.
It's BULLSHIT
John Michaelson WHERE'S THE BACON GREASE?!? DON'T THEY KNOW CENK NEEDS HIS BACON GREASE?!?
+Will Miller After the Ben Shapiro debate, he's trying kosher to see if that's what made Ben kick his ass.
Wew boys! Shit is gonna go down!
Ana's point around the 11 minute mark is exactly what Yuri Bezemov talked about.
Sargon! Where is Anita Sarkeesian holding you? Do you need help?
I have no sympathy for Venezuela. They got what they asked for. Listen up Bernie supporters!
Bernie Sanders wants a Scandinavian system, not a Venezuelan one.
...or do you have quotes to show otherwise?
Except scandinavian system is a capitalist framework with certain socialist aspects inside that framework. I would like to see any of you giving 75%+ of your income towards taxes.
Socialists... confusing YOUR money, with their money. Cuz equality.
+rob b I'm pretty sure it's the 2nd one!
I like tacos. Like if you also like tacos.
Tacos rule
Multi Meter Love tacos and burritos. My ship pulled into San Diego to pick up the air wing. They had a taco truck waiting at the pier. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. It was like seeing the promise land. Huge tacos and burritos for cheap. My colon hated me that night.
Dude, South America man, no tacos, heck don't even like jalapenos and not sure what's the big deal about Mexican food that Americans are obsessed about.
sakiusad tacos.
Tacos for commies. Except for the line, lack of tacos, and tacos costing 7billion worthless Bolivars for 2/9ths of a taco.
Sounds like socialists blaming capitalism for socialism...
It's times like this that we have to look to Kek for the answers, and ask ourselves what would Patrick Stewart do?
"THAT'S NOT REAL SOCIALISM" - every socialist/commie everytime socialism/communism goes inevitably wrong
What's worst? TYT's logic or Sargon's potatoe mic?
Spider-Zero come on ! TYT has no logic only an agenda.
9:33. We're still waiting to hear whether it was Locke or Hobbes. Was that information not on the dust jackets?
Their ideology is so stupid. Very easy to make fun of..
Cocacola death squads... MY FUCKING SIDES WENT TO THE MOON! xD
